I'm downloading Air Navy Fighter and Mini Motor and will post back as to how they play. Lode Runner is great and Eathends is pretty good as well.
Edit: Bought Air Navy, Mini Motor, and Gunman Clive and all are great! Xperia Play optimized and all

Just wanted to add (despite them not being optimized) that a bunch of square titles are on sale as well, I just picked up Chaos Rings for $3.99. Here's a list from pocketgamer.co.uk http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Android/Square+Enix+news/news.asp?c=47452
*Chaos Rings (iOS and Android), formerly £8.99 / $12.99 now £2.49 / $3.99
*Chaos Rings Omega (iOS and Android), formerly £8.99 / $12.99 now £2.49 / $3.99
*Chrono Trigger (iOS and Android), formerly £6.99 / $9.99 now £4.99 / $6.99
Additional Android titles currently on sale include:
*Final Fantasy (now £2.99 / $4.99)
*Crystal Defenders (now £2.49 / $3.99)
------------------------
Some Sega titles are on sale also
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Crazy+Taxi/news.asp?c=47434
73p / 99c
Sonic CD
Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1
Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II
£1.46 / $1.99
Jet Set Radio
Total War Battles
If anyone cares I will tell my strange little story about my requests to Sega regarding the Android port of Crazy Taxi.

Air Navy Fighters still appear PhP93.71 to me, that's more than $2...
EDIT: Okay saw it, apparently I was looking at the non-Xperia exclusive version of the game. Thanks!

Include Wild Blood too. On sale for $0.99 for limited time. Happy days for Xplay gamers.

All gameloft games shows as 99p in the UK wapshop for me

Is chaos ring worth to buy it? is it a good game? looks good but i read some coments like "is a good game but very short, only 5 hours game play"

I've been enjoying Chaos Rings so far; the combat system is pretty neat and the story has me a bit interested. I would say if you are interested go for it since it will never drop to a lower price than this

Max Payne is on sale for like 64p
And nfs mw shows up in play store for r800i now aswell and is on sale for 73p order and chaos is 69p
And a few others I think

Seeing Wild Blood on sale at the Google Play compared to $2.99 at the Wapshop, I'm thinking I'll get this tonight.
One question, though: I've never bought a Gameloft game via Google Play, always through Wapshop. Question is, does Wild Blood Google Play version allow me to play even if I turn Wi-Fi and 3G off? As far as I can remember Gameloft games at GP are injected with DRM bull that checks license everytime they are opened.
Anyone?

Hello?!?

I just tried on my tablet whilst having aeroplane mode on and it told me "A network error has occurred". Doesn't look like you can play the game without the licence check which requires a connection
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app

Damn it. Thanks anyway!

Yeh I got the Google play version you don't need wifi or 3g to play

So now you have a different idea with UndisputedGuy... now this is really important to me because while having an awesome and continuous Wi-Fi at home, 3G services really suck in my country. A lot of us still rely our carrier connections through GSM.
So, which is which?

I Bought this game when it was 1st released, and yes you can play it with or without WIFI/Data
but it takes too much Internal Storage when you reached the last part it will eat your 150MB internal
unless you have root and do the trick from the other thread, you can save a lot of Internal Memory slashing it to half
Kabayan.

Salamat kabayan!

Goddamnit, all DotEmu games on sale too
- R-type - $0.99
- Another World - $0.99
- Raiden Legacy - $2.99
Raiden Legacy comes with my highest recommendation.

Bought Sonic CD and Sonic Ep2 while on offer. Bargain at £0.72.
Rest don't really interest me.

Sonic CD was pretty great but I heard a lot of mixed reviews on Ep2, let me know how it is when you get a chance and I might pick it up.

You can't go wrong with Sonic CD, such a great port : smooth animation, updated music and wide screen :good:
...
Bought all Sega's sweeties and will blood, bargain but can't test them, SD full
have to got a 64Go now

New Gameloft releases?!

Seriously, what is going on with Gameloft, they have 3 new games that appear in the Xperia Play Launcher yet you click on them and it takes you to the Gameloft wap site which isn't showing any of the latest games to buy or download.
Anyone else having this issue?
The games are Lets Golf 3, Shadow Guardian HD and 9MM
Yes same issue here, done a refresh and they have disappeared from xperia play games list on phone.
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
same boat here.. had this problem for days now but i was too lazy to post it..
the only new release that appeared so far is that lame game Block Breaker 3..
I think the other game is Block Breaker3,or 9mm.but who had bought Block Breaker?I'm afraid it's liked Order&Chaos, don't support for xperiaplay's gamepad.
guess what, Let's Golf 3 and Shadow Guardian are gone just now.. maybe they aren't for the XP after all..

I just bought block breaker 3. The game does not use the play controls, probably because the game plays in portrait not landscape. But it's a pretty good game, I was a big fan of arknoid back in the days
Yeah, I wanted Let's Golf 3.
I'd rather a Tiger Woods for Xplay but I don't think EA are planning on it
Lets golf 3 is still there for me. Generic world 2.3.3 in australia. Nfs hot pursuit dissapeared though I bought the damn game too now I cant redownload it (

I bought the game also since it was announced on their FB page, I thought I can use our phone's physical controls since I saw the xperia play on the description. Like using D-pad on the side while playing it vertically..
Yeah arkanoid one of my old school fave too, that's why I'm also addicted to fireball (Nokia S60 game)..
Shadow Guardian and Lets Golf 3 will be released soon enough, 1st October was supposed to be the real release date (according to pocketgamer.co.uk) and they launched it by mistake, but only kn launcher, there wasn't any game on the site.

All Polarbit games on sale for 99c!

I grabbed Toki Tori, Reckless Getaway, Armageddon Squadron and Raging Thunder 2 PLAY.
...all worthy purchases for an Xperia PLAY owner, imo.
Wow great sale
Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of buying reckless getaway the other day but because of this sale I'm going to buy it.
61p in the UK.... FYI
Their games are awesome!!! I payed $4.99 for Reckless Racing PLAY, and bought Reckless Getaway for $.99 2 days ago. Bought Reckless Getaway on my iPod Touch 4th Gen the weekend it was released on Apple for $.99 too!!
Swyped from my pimpin PG86100 using XDA Premium, boiiiii!!!
Armageddon squadron is dissapointing, no control pad support, motion controls. I refunded it. Reckless Getaway is cool though.
Anyone know if Raging Thunder 2 actually supports the control pad?

Yes Raging Thunder 2 does... all the ones listed as Xperia PLAY Optimized do... I can say from experience that Armageddon Squadron does, in fact, utilize the Xperia PLAY controls. If you encounter issues with it, you slide the device closed, then open.. like so.

how do you get the games of that price? for me in the market they say 61p bit when i select my device and get to the "Complete your purchase" bit the price is £2.50
----------------------------------------------------------------|edit|---------------------------------------------------------------------
I decided to continue anyway and see what happened. Once i confirmed the purchase it went to the next page and said i had bought it for £0.61

Alien vs Predator (from Sega) works grea with pad buttons and analogs
mx vs atv reflex works well and just cause 2 does but the volume buttons are used for grapple which can be a bit awkward
Assassins creed brotherhood (I'd expect revelations works too), deus ex & saints row
Now this is where Sony should have always pushed the xperia play - all my mates are jealous now!
EDIT: Arkham city works great too
Updated 24 december
I am getting very jalouse too becouse i can not acces onlive in my ****ry... does someone now a way to pass it? And how expensive is for example AC Brotherhood? And how can you pay them?
Merry Christmas mates
You can use a Virtual Private Network
Saints Row 2 works although I get a mouse loading cursor in the middle of the screen the whole time but it's not too distracting
You've missed deus ex from the list - amazing how well these work with a phone!
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Assassin's Creed Revelations works except Eagle Sense which requires you to press in the left analog stick (Only needed for some missions)

You can use a VPN service like Strong VPN to register. Once it is activated, you don't need the VPN, although you need the VPN to buy games/register a credit card. Oddly, it took my non-us credit card when I put my dad's US address as the billing address. Doesn't seem to use address verification. I was able to buy Super Street Fighter IV: AE with my "foreign" non-us card and I got the playpack promo for 30 days free form gamespot. With the playpack 30% discount, AC Brotherhood was $20.99

lol im just testing it now looks mint tanks for the list
Can't tell you how excited I was when I heard about this.
Full, new, retail games on my beloved Xperia Play.
Firstly, even on my less than perfect internet connection, the games appear to be work perfect. As far as I can see, there is no noticable button lag at all. That is great!
However, having had a good play of a fair few games though, there are a few problems.
Now these are to be expected, but I didn't really think about them when I head the inital annoucement.
- In a lot of the games the text is a little small to read.
- Controls are a major problem. There simply isn't enough buttons.
- Controls again, a lot of the games don't allow customisation, meaning some functions are inaccessible, and thus, the game unplayable.
- The touch pads are a very poor substitute for an anolog stick. Some games are ok, but most are impossible to control accurately. In fact, I'd rather use the DPAD than the touchpads, though this is an option denied to us in most games.
- All of the above could be solved to a satifactory level by allowing full customisation of controls.
- The onlive app is brilliant, but the text could be somewhat crisper. Looks kind of blurred.
Overall, the games that do work well with the controls work amazingly. Street Fighter for example is great. It is such an amazing thing to be playing these games on a mobile phone. The fact that most games are accompanied by a free trial is definitely something OnLive should be applauded for as it allows us to see what works and what doesn't. I can definitely see myself spending some money in the future!

[Q] Single device Multiplayer for Android

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for some fun games I can either play on a single tablet ( my TF101) or possibly between a random friends phone (on my wifi) and said tablet.
I've found some air hockey variants and "2 player reactor" and would like to extend this small offering. I'm interested in pass and play and realtime games (although I understand the latter might be a bit more rare).
Can people share fun games they've played? Including, if unavoidable, games so fun as to justify buying a second tablet!
Thanks
Fruit Ninja THD
Multiponk (1 to 4 players)
Paper War
I specially enjoy the first 2, and Player Reactor!
I bought X plane ages ago and have just loaded it up on both my phone and tab. Found out that you can multi play. Gave my phone to my wife to fly around whilst I found her in my tab and shot her out the sky. Boom! Brilliant!
I think Muffin Knight has MP.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
I liked GalaxIR, already the free version supports multiplayer via bluetooth with two players and I imagine how much more fun it would be with more than just two. But at least the free version only supports one player, which is still fun though...
Ragdoll Samurai and Hardcore Fighter
Ragdoll Samurai and Hardcore Fighter (FULL versions) have single device multiplayer.
I wrote these games and thanks to that thread I'm hoping to get more downloads .
Have fun - these games ROCK!

Games on sale not compatible with P920

Some of you might know that currently there are a couple of high quality games on sale in the Play Store:
Because We May!
Some games are listed as incompatible for my device (P920, stock Froyo):
- Sprinkle
- Whale Trail
- Babylonian Twins
While I don't care for the latter two, I'd really like to buy "Sprinkle".
I'm a little puzzled as to why the Store denies me the purchase of these games.
Are you able to purchase these games or do you know how to trick the Play Store into letting me buy Sprinkle?
I just tried to buy Babylonian twins in the google play. I can buy it, it doesn't say that is incompatible. I'm from Bulgaria.
I'm playing sprinkle right now!
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.
Yeah ... I saw that the above mentioned games require 2.3 or up. I just didn't notice last night.
add sonic the hedgehog episode 2 to the list
