has anyone notice "diagonal" lines on certain angles on their screen? - Asus Transformer TF700

never had them on my any iDevices + HOX. only a issue if you're looking at the screen at certain angles.

yep, its the pentile matrix a method that allows screen makers to fake a pixel density with less sub-pixels (red green and blue) ie less green pixels because your eye is more sensitive to the colour green.

heh. I guess I've always known that getting the infinity vs ipad4 to replace ipad3 will always be a downgrade of sorts. I just wanna try something new.

Samoled screen blotches?

Does anyone see blotches on their screen in low light conditions? Whenever there is a dark background on the display, I always see blotches on the display, whether it be in the youtube app, the home screen, or the wallpaper chooser. Is it a defect?

It's a problem with samoled screens.

Isn't this called cloudiness? Something like that. Didn't know super amoled screens have this problem. I know the Zune HD's OLED screen definitely has this.

[Q] Display Color

Went to look at some xoom tablets yesterday and found some screen color difference. The one on display at staples had weak color but the one at best buy had deeper and richer color. So why is this?
The xoom has two lcd panels, they both are
1. Sharp
2. AUO

This why I have never understood the complaints about the screen. I'm very happy to have a screen that has rich colors...not sure which type it is though. I think it's a bit variable even between the two types.
Also comes to preference. Some people prefer warm screens (more yellowish color). And some people prefer cool screens (more blueish color).

Speaking of which, I was at BestBuy and had a perfect chance to compare my Xoom screen/colors to both the Acer Iconia, and the Asus Transformer. First I tried Fruit Ninja HD on the Asus TF and my Xoom (it wasn't installed on the Acer) and the colors and saturation were identical, but the Xoom actually had slightly higher resolution! There was an area where the TF clearly showed "jaggies" but the Xoom showed no jaggies, and instead had more detail. I was really surprised because, if anything, I was prepared to see just the opposite...I thought that the Xoom would come up short.
Then I opened Angry Birds Rio on all three tabs. The first thing I noticed was that both the Acer and the Asus clearly leaned toward the blue end of the spectrum--the whites actually were very light blue, while the Xoom had a more balanced, slightly warmer color range, with the whites tending slightly more toward yellow.
It does come down to personal preference (I prefer balanced color), but what a surprise about the difference in resolutions.
Even though the xoom might have more balanced colors, humans are drawn to poppy colorful colors so people are going to say the 10.1/transformer have better screens.
That was the thing...unless those were bad example of those two tabs, the Xoom's colors popped just as much, and the quality of the Xoom's display was better than the Asus and as good as the Acer. But that was my Xoom...I can't speak for the Xooms on display which were not working because they had no power to their endcap.
I think what matters is which has the most accurate color as there should be color adjustment apps available for proper calibration. Just like a TV, showroom colors are always bad until you pay for professional calibration.

Anyone else notice a green / yellow tint when brightness is low?

Just like the subject says. Anyone else have this issue? When I set the brightness set to the lowest my whites have a green yellow tint to it. If I set the brightness to halfway or full it completely goes away and my whites look white.

this is just a normal trait of super amoled screens, just like how amoled have a hard time displaying whites (kills battery fast due to the display type)
I'm somewhat used to it now. Doesn't bother me at all. Plus, the peachy color isn't as hard on the eyes.

Hello, I did not experienced the change in tint because I'm slightly colorblind but there is something that disturbs me a lot, i'ts the fact that with a very low brightness, using a night mode app, on a dark or black background I can see several daker spots on the screen. I checked on a GSIII and you can also see some but it's less disturbing.
Anyone have this problem?

Q: Black spots on screen?

Just noticed this today. When looking at a black screen I see a decent amount of blotches on the screen. I looked it up and it appears to be normal at least on the gs3. I wanted to see if anyone else has it on their RAZRs.

Hi, I already mention that in another thread, but yes I have the same issue on a dark screen on very low brightness and low ambiant light. The phone is usable but it's a bit disturbing to my eyes. And yes it's quite the same for the GS3. Must be from the amoled tech...
But the other thing is when on a solid green or blue or some others colours screen, like the fb loading page, I can distinguish dark stripes on the screen, it seem the the amoleds motorola uses aren't as good as the ones used from samsung IN the samsung's.
yep. totally normal for these screen types. The original razr had tons of them.
Welcome to amoled guys...

Screen turns purple / violet depending of seeing angle

Discuss.
It's curious thing about SAMOLED. It a little bit turns puprle / violet depending of seeing angle. This issue is regarding white colour on the screen. Do you experience anything like that with your S7?
It's your screen protector

It's common with AMOLED displays. Hope it's not too worse.
