[Q] Smooth looking SGS i9000 boot animation for our phones? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

I have the boot and shutdown animations (inc. sounds) working on my SGS4G off the i9000. Unfortuinatly the boot animation is no smooth at all and quite laggy. However, the shut down animation is perfect. Does anyone have a copy of a smoother boot animation for our phones? I've been looking for some time with nothing substantial.

if you have the zip file, i'll take a look at it for you.

And.... I found this flashable zip from when I used to have a Vibrant. I attempted to flash this but it says the file is some older type of system Google doesn't use anymore. I can't recall right now the exact lingo.
Check the file out. I know this one was smooth as butter on the Vibrant, so it could be a starting point.

i'll take a look at it when i get a chance. just started a 10 day work week. i'll find some time though.

I ended up selling my SGS4G (not because of this) and ordered an international LT29i

Sorry guys for not getting back to you sooner. Been really busy lately and was also searching for info on this particular type of boot animation file. Can't seem to find any way to open the qmg files. Its something Samsung did to keep us from messing with the boot animations. What I can do though is (on my spare time of course) do my best to make you guys something up for a boot animation. That is the best I can do for you at this time. I have off Sunday, Monday and Tuesday so I will try my best to get something made up for you. Again, I'm sorry about this.

I believe that qmg files are proprietary crap from Samsung that's probably why it's a mess

Where are the SGSIII apps?

I saw a post somewhere with all of the SGSIII apps. Anyone know where it is? I cant find it! I downloaded the firmware, but they are all md5 files. I need to dissect the stock SGSIII Rom to get some apk and some lib files. Please help! I searched but i cant find it!
If you're really serious about taking apart the S3 rom get ahold of dsixda's kitchen and learn how to use it. It'll let you do most of what you need such as extracting system apps from ext4 image, deodexing apks, etc.
The learning curve is steep, and Google is your friend. It's all been done before and documented in various xda threads, just search them out. And good luck.

[Q] backport gingerbread?

OK don't flame me for being a noon about this but would it be possible to port gingerbread to the one s? Maybe like cm7.1? I know this sounds really dumb and alot of people are probably going to be like "why would you want gingerbread? Its old and outdated" but some of the best custom ROMs I've ran were based on GB and i would like to attempt porting them but have no GB base, so my real question is does anybody think its possible?

As an off-topic question would any of you devs know if there is a compile flag to enable tasks/notes in Exchange Services or some way to enable it? Best answer I have found searching this is that the phones that do support it only have it because it was provided as a feature by HTC/Motorola.
