Good morning everybody
Since I updated to JB 4.1.2 I have the problem that there are black lines flickering from time to time (very annoying especially during use of the ezpdf app). The problem seems to be known. Is there any solution for this issue? Maybe with a custom rom?
Thank you for your help.

I thought I was the only one. Only happens in a few apps.

Disabling h/w overlays may fix it but can cause lags.
So this is on the original Acer ROM? Interesting...

I thought it would be a JB issue that affects all users. But not many people are responding. Maybe a hardware problem although? Hm...
I suggest you to turn on "disable HW overlays" & "force GPU rendering" in developer option menu. That can help ur device to dismiss this issue.
+1
in the same App ezpdf app
Also orig. JB FW
Same flickering here after obtaining JB.
My guess is- kernel video driver or driver binaries (in system) are not 100% perfect.
I can't say how much can be done if driver binaries are the cause- closed source.
AW: JB: black lines flickering
Where you are from?
How you get 4.1.2?

I got my tablet back yesterday from repair with JB 4.1.1 flashed on it. I had this problem, too, but only when the CPU got too hot. Solution for me was flashing the ROM to Iconian v2.6, since then I didn't recognize these lines anymore.

It seems that more and more people suffer this problem.
Is it related to a custom rom ?(dont think so)
Is it related to a custom kernel ?
How deep does an kernel or rom go in changing such things?
After a factory reset, booting in total dark they work till next boot .
So the hardware works ...
Are there any smart dev's that know what is going on ?
Hope someone can help !

Ive never encountered this problem.
Its most likely down to ROM / Kernel - maybe even an app.
The ROM & Kernel go deep deep down into the core of the phone.... where the magic happens. You said yourself the hardware works, Which pretty much answers your own question
I even flashed stock rom ( ruu 1.50)
Didnt help.
Could it be that an rom,app or kernel messed up something
that an original rom could not overwrite ?
Proximity Sensor
They both won't work for me either.
Tried to avoid this with faux, sebastians and stock kernel on ics,
maybe all three kernels have the same problem or it's related to
the Firmware.
I've tried to boot up without light but the Sensors are still not working :/

@stillbeer:
How can we create a big stink about this to get some smart Dev's going on the issue. Every person I have communicated with is a user like me who is just having the same problems over and over. There have been a few fixes offered, but NONE work successfully. Are we just going to have to bite the bullet and stay without Proximity & Light sensors forever??????
I wish someone would really be willing to dig deep into this to solve it, I will pay $$$$$$!!! I am VERY serious!
bumpppppppppppppppp
no luck yet
I seemd to get this bug after updating flashing new kernels and updating to ICS rom after being on GB MIUI with no problems.
I have tried everyting, flashing all ICS firmwares from the user friendly thread, super wipe, factory reset, manual wipes, format SD.
Tried Several ICS Roms including virtous, MIUI.us and Stock.
The sensors sometimes work for a brief period after reboot but will die after the phone goes to sleep a few times.
Well this thread has been dead for over half a year, but has anyone learned anything? I have a completely stock HTC Sensation 4g and now my proximity and light sensors are not working and the soft button backlights are not work. I have no idea if it happened after installing some app but I did a factory restore and that did not help at all.

Stock Honeycomb is what almost everyone here runs as a daily driver. Until we get the source for the WIFI chip we are stuck. There are deoxed versions of stock in the developer area.
cm9 alpha best thing right now in my opinion.

Stock Honeycomb is what your tab comes with out of the factory therefore you can't get it anywhere as you already have it. The only other ROM avaiable that you could use on a daily basis is the deodexed version of Stock Honeycomb in the development section. If you don't know what deodexed is google it. However there is very little benefit to flashing this ROM over just sticking to stock in my opinion.
The best....
The best you can is to install the ICS look of this device by installing some items but remember to be a root. Here is the link where you can find more information to do that:

Havent you experienced the unresponsive bottom in most of the apps ? or sometime with the home screen itself ? I tried it and went back to CM10.1 RC5. I would suggest wait for the issues to be resolved, looks like this rom is in nascent stages...

Usually that problem is because the Pie trigger is on the bottom edge of the screen. Move the trigger and you should be fine.

Thank you guys.. it works fine now... But I have moved over to beanstalk rom, which has the HALO incorporated.. loving it.
hello, i love my galaxy s3 and even more because i took the leap and rotted and I am running on roms. My favorite rom is cyanogenmod but I have never gotten the camera to work on it with anything greater than cm10.0. I am currently running AOKP which allows the camera to work which is awesome too but i would love to go back to CM. I have searched for hours but never found a solution that worked. I tried flashing a file that some around this forum and other forums have said fixed the CM camera issue but that did not help. If anyone know of a fix so i could use CM10.1 or CM 10.2 I would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Have you tried a clean install of CM 10.2? I haven't had any issues with my camera running any custom rom.
Does it work at all, or are you just missing some feature?

I have not tried a clean install. I will try that when I get a chance. The camera sometime opens and I can zoom in and out a few seconds but then it freezes and the phone restarted. Also, other times the camera open to a black screen and freezes and the phone restarts. It really sucks This is the only issue I am having with CM and why I switched to another rom.
Doing a clean install fixed the problem. Thank you so much for your help. I would like to mark this thread as SOLVED but i do not know how. Hopefully an admin can do this.

I'm waiting for Android Milky Way
Am i the only one experiencing touch screen issues like ghost touches and screen not being responsive sometimes? :/
No, you're not, its a pretty common issue, and I haven't been able to fix it.

This thing is so frusturating, I have to reboot my mobile everytime when this happens :/
Found this while I made a search to increase touch sensitivity. I guess it's worth a try; or you guys can just disassemble to check if this is the issue.

What ROM are you on?
I had it really bad with CM12 but went back to Stock 11s and it's not noticeable to me anymore. I know it's likely a hardware problem but they have apparently baked a few software fixes into the stock ROM. Made my phone usable again, no more reboots needed
Maybe Firmware matters
I have had this issue ranging from different roms. As I have been frequently changing ROMs and kernels, I have found that this issue doesn't persist.
Is it the touch firmware or kernel? I may not know. But here is my experience:
1. CM11 : Faced touch issue uptil 44S
2. CM12: Stock, built myself. Faced loads of issues not only with touch
3. CM12 SlimSaber: Never faced an issue till date.
And if reboot really works, then it must be a software issue.
Im currently on official cm12. Here the issue is not too intense it only happen if i keep it tightly in my jean packets.
In miui, the issue was soo frequent.
Ill try switching to slimsaber now.
Screen responsiveness seems to be stable in slimsaber, but that rom lacks much features.
Damn , Why cant Cm just identify and fix this thing -_-
Update:
Even slimsaber has this issue

I also have this issue from couple of weeks. Touch unresponsiveness and ghost touches. Typing is a nightmare. I've tried everything from going to CM11s stock to flashing old firmwares but nothing. Waiting for offical CM12 now.
So I have to go back to kitkat? Bleh.
Update:
Flashed CM 11s 44s and franco kernel. Havent had a single touch issue till now. Been using for almost 2 days.

Are you still good with CM11S, or have the ghost touches re-appeared?
