How do I get a stock recovery and kernel for my A510? - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

Hi guys,
Recently, I have been having incessant problems in updating my A510 (which has been restored to fully stock using the firmware on Acer's website), and someone told me this might be due to running a custom kernel. Is it true that using the firmware on Acer's website, the kernel doesn't return to stock? Also, what about getting stock recovery? If you flash the official ROM, doesn't it automatically go back to stock recovery? If so, why during the update process, the message "Recovery verified failed" come up?
Thanks!

Unable to update bc of root and/or custom kernel?

I'm getting a triangle with an exclamation mark when trying to update to the newest OTA straight from the tranformer. I have th stock ROM right now (bc i originally nandroided before installing the custom rom) but I have clemsyn's kernel, and clockwork mod still installed.
Is this an issue bc of the fact that I have a custom kernel? If so does anyone have a packaged stock kernel in flashable zip format? Thanks!
Me too; any ideas?
I'm pretty sure we're not going to be able to OTA with root access for now, which kinda sucks. Would've loved if I was simply able to carry over root and not have to wipe. Guess I'll stay on Prime for the time being, I'm sure the features will be ported over to v1.6.
Anyway, does anyone have a copy of a flashable zip containing ASUS's stock kernel? When I flashed over an update.zip of the latest OTA it still kept me with clemsyn's custom kernel, anyone know how to go back to full stock OTA with root? Thanks
I found this link... it's on the internet, so what could go wrong?

Help please! Root

Hi guys, I just got a new Note. I was able to flash CWM Recovery using odin. After this, I flashed the stock recovery and booted it up. I tried updating the software via OTA, but after it reboots trying to update, it says update failed. It fails at 24% when the android symbol comes up after booting
Please help me
no help yet??
I'd bet $100 you didn't reset flash counter before flashing stock recovery....
Agree.
U have to reset counter, flash back stock recovery.
OTA is urs.
Sent from N7105, at the corner of this rounded earth.
Most curious. AFAIK, OTA's will fail without stock recovery.
It seems the OTA's check for root or altered rom files, this has been my experience anyway, and if found to have been altered fails....

[Q] Restoring Stock

I am selling my 300T and I have downloaded the latest JB .20 ROM from Asus. I am currently on JB .18. I want to return everything to stock before I sell it. I am currently rooted with an unlocked bootloader and have deleted some stock apps. I have TWRP recovery currently installed. Will flashing via Fastboot be the best method? Will this flash the recovery as well? I saw another thread saying that flashing the blob file via fastboot restored the tablet to stock completely, but there was a discrepancy on the command to use. Thanks for the help.
Refer to the link below, it's a thread I just posted in concering the same issue

[Q] Do I have to revert to stock before the 4.4.2 update will work?

I'm running a faux kernel, I'm rooted and have TWRP recovery.
I was on 4.4 and got the notice about 4.4.2 and I accepted. I then got distracted with something and when I came back, my phone was in TWRP recovery. I reset back to system but I see I'm still on 4.4.
So did it fail because I have a custom recovery? or a custom kernel? or root? or something else?
And basically, do I have to go back to full stock to be able to do OTA updates? Or is one of the 3 above I listed messing it up?
Never did OTA updates before so I'm new to this.
Thanks!

Since you have a custom kernel you should fastboot flash the system and boot images from 4.4 before the ota. Of you don't it won't work.

So it is the custom kernel that broke it?
Once I fix that, how do I get the OTA again? Right now I'm on 4.4 and when I check, it says I have the latest
depends... for the recent updates yes, there are patches for certain things so they need those files to be as stock to be able to patch them without issues. if n update comes in the future with a full set of images, then it may not require stock files.

Stock Kernel

Hi all..!
Due to the recent issue of Nvidia recalling back the tablets, I revert back to stock firmware from blisspop firmware.
However I can't find any link or tutorial regarding getting back the stock kernel. How do I get back the stock kernel? Or is it already installed when I install back the stock firmware?
Thanks! :good:

Should be installed with the stock firmware - go to settings and check.
