No both these apps use different method to move to ext.Link2sd just creates symlinks and s2e actually mounts /data to /sd-ext.So if u try to switch u'll have to wipe data.

Just backup apps and app data ffirst

????

If I wanted to move from link2sd to s2e, would I have to move all my apps and data from my ext4 partition over to my system partition?

quick questions..
Are these asec files just the apps/games i have installed to the phone and they are being stored on the sdcard? I move all my apps to an ext partition on my sdcard so why would these asec files be eating up more space on my sdcard? Would it be safe to delete the whole asec folder without losing those apps/games on my phone?

No, it would not be safe. It is using Google's implementation of apps2sd. Move them to internal memory from system app manager just to be sure. If you're on cm you can force all apps to go to internal memory and then move them fully to the ext partition on your sd card.

moving apps to sd-ext isnt as helpful as dalvik cache to sd-ext... i just left it at that.
to remove sd-ext using windows, open disk management and delete all the partitions and create a new single partition.

For remove I use USB adapter for an SD Card. Install on Windows Mini Tool Partition Wizard Home and deleting partition or create new partitions on the SD Card.
Or you can simply partition using ClockWorkMod Recovery....
Its easy and fast.....
Make sure you take a backup of your data before partitioning, cause it will probably get erased.....
try using free paragon partition manager. I used it to remove ext partition.

There are many threads about this subject, but i will explain. As you know our phone has a low internal memory problem and you can't install so many apps. You see every user app and data is stored in /data folder in internal memory. So developers found a trick to increase the internal memory. When you partitioned your sd card there will be a similar folder /data and it is linked with the internal memory /data all the data from there to the /data folder on sd card. Now the phone thinks that this folder is actually the internal memory and sends all the apps to the sd-ext.This is Data2SD. But the /data folder contains many folders...for app (/data/app) and for dalvik cache(/data/data) and with HYBRID DATA2SD you can choose which folder will go on sd-ext .It is recommended to only transfer /data/app on sd-ext because transfering the dalvik cache could slow down your phone.Hope that helped.Cheers

I will try to explain in simple lang....
On android OS, users applications and data is stored in /data folder (partition) in internal memory. Since g3 have less memory, it has restrictions on how many apps you can install and blah blah...
So out greate developers do a trick to increase internal memory.
When we have partitioned SD card, there in new partition, they create a similar folder stucture of /data. and link internal memorys /data to point to sd card data folder. This link is similar to a shortcut. Android OS thinks that the /data folder is there in internal memory and it reads and writes to it but actually that data goes to sd-ext partition and thus the size of internal memory dose not increases as you install apps. This is Data2SD
/data has many folder...majorly for app (/data/app) and for dalvic cache (/data/data). If you are not mounting entire /data to sd-ext, but selectively mapping each folder you want to sd-ext, then this is called HybridData2SD. For ex, I prefer app dir (/data/app) to be mounted on sd-ext but not the cache (/data/data). Cache should be on phone as its accessed so much and makes my phone lag If i put it on sd-ext.
hope this clears the concept.

Apps2sd is one program, and link2sd is the second program for same purpose. If yuo installed script for one program, you can't install
the second program. If you install script for apps2sd, you need install apps2sd. If you want install s2e, you need instal script for s2e.
If you have installed script of app2sd, and you want install s2e, you must reinstall ROM. For flash ROM you need go on wipe data/reset, wipe cashe partition and in advanced, wipe dalvik cashe, before and after flash ROM.

Before I copy all what I need and it paste on HDD. After I remove all on SD Card with MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition.
After I make FAT32 primary partition and ext4 primary partition.

You can use MINIPARTITION TOOL (Windows app) to add partitions or/and change the format of your SDcard to ext2, ext3, ext4 etc.
