Does anyone know how I can install the HTC FM Radio tuner for my rooted One X running ICS (with TWRP) ?

There's a thread in general with the apps

Okay I have the APK but now i need to copy it to the system/app folder. How do I do that? I tried moving it and copying it with Astro File Manager but that didn't work.

Did you try installing the apk?
To move it to system I believe you need a file manager with root access like es file explorer

yes I tried to install it but that failed. I downloaded es file explorer and then enabled and granted root but when I tried to copy or move it to the system/app folder, both failed. The apk seems to can't be moved at all.

Make sure you selected mount file system as writable in root settings in ES File Explorer.

I haven't tried it, but since it's a ripped apk, you can't just run it from the phone. Copy it to system/app using Root Explorer, make sure all the permissions are checked, reboot your phone and maybe it will work.
EDIT: MIUI is AOSP, so probably won't work on Sense, although I'm not sure about that because it's only a file explorer app
It installs on CM7 without error, but its nowhere to be found in the app drawer. I tried rootexplorer install to system/app with no luck...

Astro is good but ES has become the standard for good reason. I suggest you try it out.

hi, I understand your situation and i get that too, i never actually get the idea of swapping, but I got the original APK from a S3 forum
I've tested it and it worked
all you simply do is install by pressing on it in an explorer
You will need to delete or rename (example-message.apk to message.bak) the message.apk and possibly change permissions to rw-r-r. You can do so by long pressing icon, scroll down to properties and click it using es file explorer. Then restart your phone. If icon is missing from the dock look in your app drawer. Also, you must enable up to root in settings in ES Explorer and mount. Go to system folder, then app folder.

But if you do this, the AOSP MMS is compatible with a Sense ROM? I was under the impression that it was not.
You guys gotta flash my ROM

File manager

Is there a file manager available on the Play Store, that will allow you to change the rw permissions of a file?

I use Solid Explorer and I know it can do that. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer&hl=en
Root Explorer, Root Browser
ES File Explorer also can do that.

Q

Friends I have the samsung galaxy tab 2.which is not rooted.I tryed to copy the system folder from system root to sdcard but the ESexplorer said "illegal operation".. is there any way to take the system folder.I don't want to root that...help me pls

My I497 tablet is not rooted either. I have Root Exploer installed and it did just what you wanted. Try a different file explorer/manager. Possibly the system folder is just too big for copy and paste. Try smaller sections.

Why are you trying to backup the whole system folder? Try smaller folders inside /system.
