Astro is good but ES has become the standard for good reason. I suggest you try it out.

lg optimus one
either /data/app
/system/app
or if you use Froyos "move application to sd" it would end up in the .android_secure folder on your sdcard. If that's the case you'd have to move them back in Settings->Applications
I am using optimus one.Stock rom. Not rooted and having app2sd.

Hi,
I'm totally new to this and I just got the Sensation 4G, how do I go about installing this? Thanks.
Go to the link above and download the .apk file. With a file explorer, go to the file and click it. It will give you two options. Choose the one to open in market or as app. Then just click install and it should be done.
Btw, works like a charm. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
when i try to install it, it tells me its a system file and asks if i want to replace it or cancel. when i hit ok then install it says application not installed.
I dont see the option to open in the market. I dont use es file explorer usually astro. any recomendations?
That's odd. You can use Astros. After you click on the file, choose open app manager. There should be an install button on the top left. Once clicked, it should just install. Sorry, I didn't get the system file message.

I was having the same problem. I just downloaded the apk on my computer, put it on my sd card, and installed it through Astro File Manager. That should work.
If you can't install it try the version I have attached. Instalation is done via Root Explorer - copy the apk from sdcard, go to /system/app. delete HTCCamera.apk and HTCCamera.odex, paste new camera apk, set permissions to rw- r-- r-- and try to install.
Camera works, but shutter button is misaligned, selecting HDR or burst in scene menu causes FC, HDR and macro is doing nothing (I think). Panorama works.
Downloaded the apk for non-rooted devices and installed using root explorer and works just great. Thanks for the share!
Thanks for the share!!! Wors great on my end
Works perfectly for me too! Thanks.
Installed it..... but this gets installed as a seperate software, and it doesnot replaces the stock camera app or it doesnt show in the scenes mode in the stock camera app.
Is this happening only with me????

I think it lets you take a bunch of pictures and puts them all together to be one really big picture.
I can't seem to download any files with my nexus s 4g. Usually I attempt to download files from xda either with the app or the site through the browser. I'm always told in downloads and the notification bar that the download was unsuccessful.
Is this due to a setting somewhere? Data profile or the like? Any fix or work around would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Glad you got it to work. I just got the NS4G 2 days ago and on the way home from Best Buy I was trying to download MIUI but kept getting the same error lol
Oh, and if you d/l from browser the file should be in /mnt/sdcard/download

That's normal. Android doesn't download files that it doesn't know how to open, usually you are able to download a mp3 or a jpg, cause it knows these files. A file manager helps with files that it knows, but if you want to download ANY type, just install "Download All Files", an app from the market...

Does anyone have the original memo .apk that came with our phone. I've been searching everywhere for it and can't find it.
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
I got this by unzipping ICBINB KH2 -- it's in system/app
Download kd1 from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14354582 Extract it and look in system/app for the apk. Copy the apk to system/app on your phone.
Edit: file already posted above but that is from GB. May work for you. This method will work for any app you need in the future.

All u need to is download that one and then push to system/app with root explorer. Then set permissions to rw-r-r and voila. It worked for me so it should for u too.

I suggest trying Note Everything. It's just like the Memo app, except the text is smaller (I found the Memo text to be obnoxiously big). You can even draw stuff with that app.
Looks like I'm gonna have to go with note everything because both of our computers aren't recognizing my phone
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
What do you need your computer for? Download kd1 from the link above. Use a file explorer to extract and push the file to system/app. I use root explorer, but there are many more that will work.

Okay I have the APK but now i need to copy it to the system/app folder. How do I do that? I tried moving it and copying it with Astro File Manager but that didn't work.
Did you try installing the apk?
To move it to system I believe you need a file manager with root access like es file explorer

yes I tried to install it but that failed. I downloaded es file explorer and then enabled and granted root but when I tried to copy or move it to the system/app folder, both failed. The apk seems to can't be moved at all.
Make sure you selected mount file system as writable in root settings in ES File Explorer.
