It looks to me that i will have to use a separate program to get a ad-hoc wifi

How do I set up a wifi connection with PC? I know this is out there but cant find it

If someone could direct me to right thread I'd appreciate it. I can find information on it but not how to do it.
you must create Ad-Hoc connection in your PC
in Vista: Network&Sharing Centre>Set Up a Connection or Network>Set up a wireless ad hoc>continue in wizard...
then turn on wifi in your phone and search for Ad-Hoc networks (not only Access Points)
it should work...
Or use WMWifireouter?

Question about internet sharing . . .

Hi guys.
Its my first post in your forum.
I have one strange question.
I have ADSL .
When I connect my ppc with activesync to my desktop pc I can use ADSL with my mobile .
So how can I share this internet with WIFI ROUTER exactly like GPRS ?
It means how can I share ADSL with my leo with WIFI ?
Is it possible ?
Tnx . . .
Do you mean you don't have a WiFi router, just a standard router that you plug a network cable to your pc? In that case you need to share your internet connection from your PC, then wireless connect to it with the HD2 through a Ad-Hoc connection.
If you have a WiFi router then go to WiFi in your HD2 and connect to your network like on a pc.
My friend i mean when i go to WIFI ROUTER menu, only i can share GPRS with that .
it work and its visible for my laptop.
But i want to share my ADSL that connect to my ppc with Activesync with WIFI ROUTER .
For example i want to use my ppc like wareless modem to share that ADSL .
Is it clear ?
Oh, I see what you mean now. Sorry, I don't know how to do that, or even if it's possible.
Good luck, I hope you figure it out.
thank you xeebot.

FILE SHARING LAN within a wifi router

Okayy heres the deal i have setup a Buffalo WCR-GN as a wifi router the wifi router connects to my bbroadband service and acts as a DHCP server for all my networked devices
my Wired desktop (192.168.11.x)
My laptop & (192.168.11.x )
My Android phone (192.168.11.x)
and my router is always 192.168.11.1
since i m using DHCP addresses might wary
THE problem is i want to share files in this LAN..I wud like my android phone to act as a FTP server and transfer files to it using desktop or laptop..However i m unable to even ping my phone from my desktop/laptop and not even the other way arnd..NO DEVICE CAN PING ANY OTHER DEVICEin this lan other than pinging the router itself !!! Can somebody please help me out here..There is a port forwarding option but that aint helping either ...
EDIT: my desktop runs DEBIAN SQUEEZE(Linux)
my OPtimus ONe runs froyo 2.2
my laptop runs windows 7
I am not an expert on this but i will be interested to know.
I dont understand why your IP addresses are starting from 192.168.11.x rather than 192.168.0.x
Have you fixed that yourself on the router? Make the router release all IPs and renew them.
the router does this addressing because it is its default setting.. I dont think that matters here..WHY ARE MY DEVICES UNABLE TO PING EACH OTHER ???? Any clues????
the attached image shows the setting..I think the setting/sequence is irrelevant
