How do I set up a wifi connection with PC? I know this is out there but cant find it - Touch Pro, Fuze General

If someone could direct me to right thread I'd appreciate it. I can find information on it but not how to do it.

you must create Ad-Hoc connection in your PC
in Vista: Network&Sharing Centre>Set Up a Connection or Network>Set up a wireless ad hoc>continue in wizard...
then turn on wifi in your phone and search for Ad-Hoc networks (not only Access Points)
it should work...

Or use WMWifireouter?

thx in advance
are you trying to access your computers internet connection from your ppc or the other way around... i'm confused.
Ad-hoc means "for a specific purpose" you never really told us what purpose
i'm trying to access my desktop internet connection using ad hoc.. i set everythg on desktop, but jus can't connet to it using my prophet
You need to tell activesync (or wmdc) to allow your phone to access the internet connection on your desktop.
can't i jus skip the WMDC part and connect using wifi only to the ad-hoc?

Problem with Topaz Wi-fi router connection

Connectivity while on internetless ad hoc network

I have a htpc build in in my car. As internet connection, I want to use my phone as internet-gateway but I do not want it to serve dhcp, dns, instead of the pc that hosts the ad-hoc network (reason is battery issues... ). These tasks are all done by my htpc in my car. So I need to connect with my phone on my ad-hoc wifi network while my phone internet connection must be on and open for use by my htpc.
I added a diagram in attachment (png)
When android is on Wifi, the 3g connection doesn't get used. Tether apps actually achieve this, if I get it right. Could somebody point me in the right direction or aid me with code, so I have internet connectivity while on a ad hoc network? Thanks
i would need this as well... anybody?

[Q] How to internet tether with the Transformer

Hey all,
I have an unrooted Asus Eee Pad Transformer, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is possible to tether the internet from my laptop to my Transformer.
I've plugged it into my laptop, and clicked tether, but do not seem to get any internet connection. Is anyone able to help?
Thanks
Rob
It is possible but you need additional software on your laptop or you need to enable ICS (Internet connection sharing) which often has mixed results.
It also depends on how your laptop is connecting to the internet. If your laptop has a wired connection to the net then your wifi will offer the hotspot connection for your other wireless devices such as the TF'er. I've used Connectify before which worked well although I did need to manually start the connection after each reboot even though it was in the startup programs.
Think I've decided it's my university internet connection. I have a wired connection, but unable to make a wifi hotspot as I'm only allowed one I.P address blah blah, so complete and utter ball ache if you ask. May give them a ring!
I'm in the same situation as you are. No wifi and only one IP.
Use Connectify on laptop. Works for me. No prolem with 1 IP becouse it will make it's own subnet.
Other option is to use USB-rj45 dongle. Had been explaned somewhere on this forum.
Why not use a WiFi router and mirror the IP address if you are only going to use one at a time.

USB Tether with PDANET to Router

I've got PDANET to work and have internet access on my computer. I've tried numerous things to get the connection to my router. I even have the indicator light on the router showing it has connection. However I cant access the router login page and when connected to router there is no connection.
what I'd like to do is usb tether to computer and share the connection. I have a netgear router but I can get whatever I need to make this happen. So if someone can help me find a thread or walk me through what I need to do that would be great.
USB tether with pdanet to router
An older post but answer is to do a Google search "How to use a 4G phone to provide WAN/Internet service to a LAN?". Top result from askubuntu will provide detailed explanation. The other top results provide additional options.
