[APP][2.3.1+][Utility]Save To Phone (former Save To Drive) - Android Apps and Games

Servus!
I'd like to present my first published (and non-commercial) Android App.
The name of my first published App is Save To Phone. It's completely free and withouts ads available via playstore.
What can the app do?
You as enthusiastic Android-Fans surely know the "Share" or "Export" function many apps like Google Drive, Dropbox, Facebook, and many others have. Save To Drive will save the content, which you want to "Share" or "Export" to a Folder of your choice, in your storage. Be it photos, data from a cloud application or anything else. If the content is only text (e.g. a link), the text gets saved to your clipboard.
You like the idea? Download my app and try it: Save To Phone !
Completely free and without ads!
I'd be really grateful if you could give me a bit of feedback. Either in this forum or via email to : [email protected]. Just say which features you'd like to have in there, what you don't like about the app and what you would like to see improved... and everything else which comes to your mind concerning the app.

If you like it, maybe also share it to your friends

Could be very useful at times, will check it out!
Thanks!

I am glad you like it, many updates are incoming. Just don't want to overthrow the user with (badly tested) updates

installed and used.
thanks it works as advertised.

New updates are out. 100 downloads have been reached
The new updates allow users to e.g. rename their files, create new folders and many things more.
Hope you like it

one more post:
The app has received its first major update. With lots of new utility. I hope you like it!

Wow, seems like a great app!! Gonna try it!!!!! Thanks!
I just installed and yes, sir! Looks great. One suggestion though, other than just creating the QRCode, you should allows for an option to copy the QRCode to clipboard so we can paste it somewhere, or better yet, allow to save the QRCode as an image file somewhere. That would be great.
Short question... when sending a contact from my phone to another one... is this contact send with my used contact picture or without the picture?
Nice will try out now.

It tries to send the picture but not all pictures can be accessed by the app. For example, Facebook-sync'd images will not be sent because the facebook app goes out of its way to make them hard to get.
But generally, it will try to send any picture added through Android.

Thanks for the ideas! I think saving the QR code as an image file is definitely something I could add in there (and shouldn't be too hard).
But I'm not sure about copying to the clipboard. That's a lot of bitmap data to copy to the clipboard and I'm not sure exactly where someone would paste it or of any apps that support the pasting of bitmap data.
If you could let me know of how you think you might use a copy feature specifically, I can maybe think though how to do it a bit more. But for now I'm not sure I see/understand the use-case.
Gonna try this
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback, and feel free to let me know of any features you want added.
Though dev time is a bit slow on this app but I always try and get to requested features eventually

Just added the save QR code feature in 1.2.8 last night, it's on the Market now.
Also in 1.2.8, the apps now sort themselves alphabetically as was requested in the Market comments.
Cheers
Some ideas
Just tried the app, and I think it's pretty good. I think the user interface is great, but I have a few suggestions to make the app better:
1. In the "Applications" view, the menu is barely readable. The black background is fine, but you should give color icons with white text to the buttons for save, load, email, etc.
2. When viewing a previously saved app list, it would be awesome if the list would somehow indicate which apps are currently installed on the device. Perhaps using different colors for the app's name, such as yellow for installed and red for not installed.
3. When saving a list, append a date code to the default file name so that older lists are not easily over-written.
4. When viewing a list, have a different action occur when the name is pressed, as opposed to just toggling the checkmark. For example, if I am viewing a list of apps, then pressing on an app's name would take me to its market page and pressing on the checkmark would perform the toggle.
Again, I think you've got a solid app. Keep up the good work!

Hey Thunderwolf, thanks for the great feedback!
1) Yeah, I need to remove that dark background actually. That's a byproduct of HTC Sense/TouchWiz/MotoBlur not playing nice with Android themes, and a limitation of the themes themselves. Will likely just go back to the regular style looking menu. I'll have that fixed in the next update.
2) That's a great suggestion, I will definitely look into that!
3) Not a bad idea, I may warn the user if a file exists too.
4) This feature is already part of the app, you just need to long press to get a context menu with many more options for that app. This works with contacts as well. With photos and music, long press will let you quick preview the image/song.
Cheers & thanks again -- very thoughtful stuff there
Great app! I just wish there was a way to share non-market apps, but I understand that there is a security risk behind that.

Thanks for the kind words & feedback
But yeah, it shares links to apps, not the apps themselves. The links it can share are Android Market, Androlib, and AppBrain. Though I'll probably add Amazon too eventually.
Not really sure how to help people share links to non-market stuff, though I may add a "note" feature where users can write their own notes in at some point.

These are now all implemented in 1.2.9 (well #4 was already implemented )
Changelog:
-New: Shows already installed apps on loaded/received lists
-New: Date appended to filename for Apps & Playlists to avoid overwriting
-Removed old code potentially causing FCs in Pictures section
-Protections against FCs saving contact CSV files w/ missing/invalid values
-Removed dark backgrounds causing problems with already styled menus (such as HTC SenseUI)
Feel free to let me know if there are any additional features you guys want to see. Some great suggestions so far (almost 100% have been added)

Thanks, that's actually a really good idea but I'm not really sure if it's possible. Although, I guess something like AppBrain does this?
I'll take a look and see if there is a way to send the market multiple install commands. Right now it just sends you to the details page of an app -- I'm not sure how to trigger the download/install.... That's usually considered an exploit. But never say never!

gallery excluder

all credits go to knox420 {http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2608226 }
Inspired by this post on the blog I decided to ease up the exclusion of directories from the gallery/media database. Gallery Excluder does the job for me.
Here's why:
Many apps create folders on the sd-card and drop their stuff there. Often, they place images as well. Now that Android checks the sd-card for new media from time to time, these folders will be added to the media database and displayed in the stock Gallery app.
Here's how:
Gallery Excluder lists all direct subfolders of '/sdcard' respectively '/mnt/sdcard' and displays them in a list. If an item/folder gets checked there is a '.nomedia' placed in that folder. If the folder gets unchecked the '.nomedia' is removed.
Since it can take a while to have the gallery update you can force a manual update via options menu.
So please let me know if such a tool can be helpful for anyone except myself.
UPDATED VERSION:
I got a new version that supports subfolders (available at the 1st post)
Navigation:
- long press an item to dive into the subfolder
- back takes you up one level
Downside: there is no feedback when you selected a subfolder for its parent. E.g. when you excluded /mnt/sdcard/folder/subfolder/ you can't recognize it when viewing folder /mnt/sdcard/ (folder won't be selected).
Pre-Market release: Please check.
Updated:
- Select all/none
- Hint for 1st time users

Since Google keep updating Android, some APIs have been changed. This feature is not steady to newer version Android OS, and hard to make it satisfied enough.
May I know why you so need this feature?
Thank you.

Check this app,
then under settings,
click use root explorer.
Under that, the option becomes available to mount / and /system as r/w
By default, at least on my htc phone, writing to the system partition is disabled by the kernel, and system is mounted read only.
By installing a different kernel, /system write protection can be removed, but then system is still mounted read only

[APP][4.0+]Auto Move Free - the app that knows where your files should be!

Hi,
I recently launched my new app at Google Play and know I want to present it here!
Auto Move is an app, which moves all the files you want to your desired location - and you don't have to do anything for it!
Example: You want every PDF file you are downloading to be moved to a certain destination. That's no problem for Auto Move!
In order to get the app working like this, you have to add a filter, which is filtering for "pdf" files - if you want it to filter for several filetypes at once, that's no problem - just seperate the filter tags by commas. Alternatively it's possible to filter for the filename (e.g. "wallpaper" or "university").
After defining source and target destination you can save the filter now (or add just more filters) and begin filtering!
There's an option in the settings, which let you define how the app should work in the backgroud:
Service: The app will register new files automatically and begin to move them.
Time Intervall: The app will scan the filesystem for new files in the defined intervall.
no automatic filtering: The app won't do anything accept to told him so manually.
All advantages of the app:
unlimited amout of filters
easy configuration because of several filterwords in one filter
filtering for file extension or file name is possible
moving or copying of the files is possible
automatic moving (with service) oder by time intervall is possible
loss of data isn't possible since backup and restore feature
great design
RESTRICTIONS OF THE FREE VERSION:
there is a maximum of one filter
you can't restore a database backup
I've attached some screenshots, that you can look at the app.
I hope you like my app! If don't please contact me!
Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.luhu.automove.free
@luhu
What a most smart app I've ever seen! Good work
Can you add the case about apk files which require root permissions or xposed framework or not?
@marbulas
Thank you very much!
Do you mean that it should possible to filter for apk files with these different properties?

I think many people will need this app being much smarter.
(the specified amount of size of files, resorting files in specified directory based in date
(for example, many people will need to sort with folders about their photos and videos : if I take pictures today, the app put them into the folder names 20140915 made by the app automatically),
specied something other people suggests...)
Useful app i'm gone use it from now on! Keep the improvements coming
Thank you very much guys!
I'm going to look how difficult it is to implement these features!

Thanks, don't forget to give us your feedback
Clearer UI, practical features
I've installed the App on my phone, here's my feedback:
1. UI
The new version does improve a lot in UI: the fresh color impresses me, comparing with ES, Solid, Astro's rigid layouts... I believe the fresh style suits me better.
2. Recycle Bin
The feature is pretty practical for Android file management. I sometimes remove files by mistake on my phone and cannot do anything to recover them. It makes me feel like I am using Windows laptop!
3. Safebox
An in-build file safebox will be easier to use when you organize files on the phone; you can copy or move them to Cloud or safebox, double insurance!
4. Suggestion
File category is more frequently-used than advanced features, I suggest you highlight this part instead of advanced features.
When I try to add account to Google Drive, the App is forced to close(My phone is Xiaomi 2S). Please fix it ASAP.
Thank you for such a good-looking and helpful App!
great app
Awesome feature's, but little laggy not that much smooth.. I am using mi3 . and add cleaner app inside like apk remover cache remover etc..
Ui is excellent ,but when we swipe upward then menu bar is hiding , please fix that

"all i can really do , is stay out of my own way and let the will of heaven be done"
I like the interface
Unlike grey, blue and other dark colors, File Expert takes a bold attempt in interface designing. Personally, I like the bright color blending.
As for the features, it meets my needs!

As for the features, it meets my needs! But when I copy files to Cloud, the speed is a little slow. Can you check it?

Unsmooth scroll!
Hi developer,
Here's my bug report:
1. The scroll is not smooth enough and the top bar will conceal when I swipe upward.
2. What's more, all operation seems slower than the previous, could it load faster?
Looking forward to your update!
