[Working][SUPER-EASY] Rooting LG OPTIMUS CUBE SU870 ICS 4.0.4 - LG Optimus 3D

I think you guyz remeber me
I provided a working solution for ROOTING P725/P720/P720h and SU870 ( GINGERBREAD )
So here I am with a FULLY WORKING ROOTING METHOD FOR LG OPTIMUS CUBE SU870
Download THIS link and extract it.
Run root.bat and select SPECIAL and then select ROOT ( restore my data on the phone dialog box will appear , wait for the dialog box out completely, click enter on your computer - continue to choose to restore my data on phone and to escape permanently dialog, click enter on your computer )
RunMe.bat = select Normal = restore my data (phone will reboot) = enter exit windows RunMe. (( Running step 1,2 and 3 will cause BOOTLOOP. DON'T PANIC ))
Disconnect the cable for about 3-4 minutes, then hold down the power button for about 8 seconds for the phone off completely, wait 1 minute to open the phone ( BOOTLOOP : phone hangs on a black screen ), plug the cable into the computer driver (on the computer will hear sound of connecting)..
Download THIS file about , extract to the root directory, run root.bat
~~~Neither I am a programmer to make these commands nor I have tested it on my phone, it is tested on another SU870 user ~~~
Thank You!
I'm downloading the files now. And gonna try rooting after it's done downloading.
Regardless, I'm clicking Thanks already I really appreciate the effort.
Now all I have to worry about is the 3D camera being slightly out of alignment (one side is slightly lower than the other, which can be realigned with 3dsteroid) & finding a way to calibrate the phone's magnetic sensor.
Unfortunately, after trying 3 times... I still could not root my su870 I've inserted screenshots of the terminal for reference. Look on the bright side... at least I didn't brick my phone
By the way... I tried connect my phone both as Charging Only & USB Mass Storage. Always with USD Debugging enabled.
I finally got my phone rooted using this method. Took some tweaking on my own, but it's still basically the same method.
My RAM is still at 800 plus mb.
So what is wrong with mind! Lost ram without reason.
1) how do i fix the volume rocker.
2) and how can i get it to boot so i find out what hboot the phone has so i can root this bad boy.
thanks in advance
1) what's wrong with the volume rocker? did you buy it second hand? If not why not return it and get it replaced if its broken?
2) to boot into boatloader is volume down plus power button, but hboot versions don't matter on our phone. Its all rootable currently
The down button doesn't work I need to replace it. I've been watching YouTube videos on how to do this. But still need help on what I need to do. I just bought the phone today second hand for 75 bucks
I cannot tell you the specifics on replacing the button but here is a tool to reboot phone into bootloader. Download. Make sure you have drivers installed from HTC sync. Open folder and press start here. Read the read me, it has the command to reboot into bootloader.
adb reboot
UPDATE. I forgot to mention to enable USB debugging through settings->applications->development
Ace hack kit comes with a manual. Open up the folder and click on the "effen manual" and read it entirely. It tells you everything you need to do to make everything work. Make sure your USB drivers are current. Most people have USB issues that can be fixed by merely updating the drivers. It tells you in the manual how to do that as well.
Follow all the prerequisites and read everything down to the last section called FAQs. There is important information throughout the whole thing which attn1 has made this way so that you see the answer to all the questions people ask over and over. I would be going against the wishes of the dev if I told you any more than this. It really is easy though once you soak in all the info. Good luck. You can do it.
Yup reread everything tried downgrading that went bad also. I'll just I've rooted many phones b4 this is the only one giving me trouble ill just sell it.
You should probably stay away from buying damaged used phones. The inspire is incredibley simple to root unless its damaged.
I know you succeeded in rooting your phone, but there is a free app from the market called Quick Boot, which requires root, but allows you to reboot into recovery, bootloader, simply reboot, and power off. It may help you down the road.
No it was that dam code I was using the one on the zip lol I feel mad and dumb at the same time haha. So all I need is a T-Mobile sim card right. Will I have to unroot the phone to set up a T-Mobile account or an at&t account?
Thanks man but does it require the up nd down volume buttons. I'm planning on fixing it maybe next week.
I'm not completely sure if an Att phone will just work on a tmobile network. It would be ideal to activate it on Att or if you already have Att just pop in your sim card. If you are already on tmo, you could pop in your sim in and see if it works. I'm not sure if they need to be unlocked even with custom roms. Does anyone else know the answer to this?
Update: the volume button thing could be an issue if you ever soft brick your phone so you might want to get that fixed asap. It's the only way to fix a softbrick is through hboot.
Using the update app called "KDZ_FW_UPD" it would crash every time. But using windows xp on a partition Harddisk worked fine. Windows xp mode also failed for me, when it disconnects the usb is does not reconnect it. even if i reconnect it it wont go any further.
I have tried this on windows 7, XP, even vista just to see. I have followed multiple guides and used multiple methods. I just can't get it to work and it has become an unhealthy obsession. I neeeed v21e back. Does anybody have ANY tips to get this to work beyond what's already out there?
Anyways.. good luck!
2. Connect your phone to PC.
3. Extract MaxRoot.rar and run Rooting.bat .
4. Now enter the Software Update Mode in your phone.
( By hold VOLUME DOWN button while your phone reboots )
5. Launch the B2CAppSetup.exe .
( You will find the file in MaxRoot.rar )
6. When you get into LG Mobile Support Tool ( B2CAppSetup.exe ).. Click on Customer Support
then Recovery phone.
7. Choose Phone Model: LGP720 .
8. Input IMEI no. from your phone or box into the S/N box and then click “Check” .
It seems like.. you have not tried this method because of the 400MB download.
SO STOP SAYING THAT IT DOESNT WORK!!
Without trying any method you spam other LG Device's (like P500) Development Sections with your 3D MAX rooting questions.
Read the steps.. you need to "swap AP file when it appears".
I didnt have to download complete file for my Optimus 3D.
BUT let me find a solution for 3D MAX.. so that we could skip this download.
Bro i tried.
Sry for any inconvenience.
But my downloading speed is just 15kBps. It said to download 430 mb which will take time around 8hr that's y i canceled III t.
Please find any offline way.
[Q] how to and what to do?
okay my aunt has an
AT&T LG Phoenix P-505 phone with Android 2.2 on it (Here is the phone)
i was thinking of putting JellyBean on it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1811325
BUT i dont know what i need or what to do for this phone............... PLEASE help with step-by-step of how to........ i would like everything to be on the Micro SD-card (like the Nook color can be), if it can't be than thats fine!. like i said i am in need of a step-by-step how to
Please & Thanks
A step by step guide will be unlikely. Making a rom comes from experience and knowledge. It will take alot of work to get that done on your aunts phone. Honestly i don't think its worth it, there is so much involved in trying to develop a rom for a phone. I would just experiment with the phone, do some theming and become use to how the phone works and functions, remember...its all experience
i don't know how to or where to get the stuff to do it, i found a little guide(HERE) and where you download the CM10 rom from is here same for its "source" of the info on there..... but it nor here tells me or helps point me to where i can get ClockworkMod Recovery installed to be able to root it(dont know if thats needed or not)...... so thats why im looking for help
my aunts phone has a mind of its own.... removes photos, music, contact and so-on when ever it wants turned on & turned off, but if i was to root it with cm10 i know it would fix it all(the phone has been used by many ppl in her family that have messed it up)
thanks for the info
what are the downfalls/cons of rooting this?(im the type of person who likes to know what the outcome can become)
Advantages
1)You can install a custom ROM
2) You can upgrade or downgrade your phone
3)You can link apps to SD or make a part of your SD card internal memory
4)Performance will be better than stock ROM
Disadvantages
1)You can Soft brick your phone
But you can also unbrick by some methods (This will happen if you don't follow instructions carefully )
2) You can hard brick your phone
(You will have to buy another phone or replace your motherboard)
3)You void your warranty by rooting.
Of course !
You'll like it after flashing custom ROMS which have more features than the stock OS you have.
Enjoy rooting & upgrading your phone....
