Hey mates,
It is really awesome seeing the Kernel-Development processgrowing soo fast, wow amazing, we have now a vsync functional 3.0 kernel with Cam and usb working ! Thanks so much Ivendor, you rock !
Coming to the bad point:
Maybe some of you've already noticed that my updates come later from week to week and I think today is the time to stop. Don't get me wrong, I'll never leave this Forum or stop working on android(kernels), but for me the school is now more important and my "break from school" because of a small interval of no exams, has an end already tomorrow. So this means I'll have to learn really a lot and try to get good marks, you all know this is not the easiest pat of an student. While the time I'll have to learn that much, I really want to not be disturbed by anything. And I don't like to let things stay no finished, because otherwise I cannot start anything new for me..
So I'll close/delete this Thread (maybe even today)(!) to have the feeling that I actually really stopped sitting in front of the pc throwing time away, which would be better invested in learning. I hope you all can understand my decision, even if some of you might think is is a bit suddenly..
I'll try(!) to make a build about every second weekend and I'll publish it in outerheavens Testrelease-Thread. Also I'll try to keep my KernelToolBox updated and today I've published something like a beta of it, for me almost everything is working properly
Don't get mad, you have other much better Developers then me like Arco, Ivendor Doom and much more are on a good way to them

one question
1. what do you mean by scheduler? you put BFS and SIO, they're not even categorized in same category. BFS is CPU scheduler and SIO is I/O scheduler
just flashed the ultrahigh performance kernel - so far so good.. clocked it to 1881, seems smooth as hell
i testet mix kernel and with this i cant recording videos. but nice to see other kernels.

OK, i thought i've understood the stuff around schedulers, but the above question made me wonder
AFAIK all above mentioned schedulers are bulit in the kernel and responsible for I/O-operations. So they are not meant to act on the cpu. Maybe this reference brings light to us
Maybe i'm not right - then please enlighten me :good:

i think you misread it man. read carefully and you'll see that guide you gave didn't mention BFS and CFS even once
i quote this from castagna's thread
Q: What are BFS (Brian F#ck Scheduler) kernel?
A: They are task schedulers (they determine what processes get cpu time, how much, etc)
CFS (Completely Fair Scheduler) is the default scheduler in the official mainline kernel. It's a tried, tested, stable scheduler.
BFS (Brain F#ck Scheduler) is a third party scheduler written by Con Kolivas that must be patched into the kernel, and replaces the CFS scheduler. It tends to be faster in certain tasks, and is usually pretty stable, but sometimes there can be performance quirks.
In a few words:
CFS stable scheduler best at multitasking, used on all standard/stock kernel
BFS a little less stable scheduler, increased much interactivity at the cost of multitasking

to be simple, BFS and CFS responsible to task execution of cpu while the ones for I/O is BFQ and CFQ. they have similar name so maybe you misread it

2.How to install it,I mean do I have to wipe anything?
3.Is the camera quality worser than on stock ivendor kernel?

I am testing this now, praying the BFS scheduler finally gives me a lag free CM7 experience. Is the minmax governor a better performer than smartass?
I prefer x99's smartass, I think he just tweaked it recently on his github. I think minmax is a older govenor. I also get better battery life with the smartass
I just added minmax for testing purposes and to have more governor options
Thanks for the update will test over the weekend.

Nice, well I tested it to the max for a whole day using gps navigation, wifi, 4g, pretty much everything lol. Data connection also seems better as well.
Soo far everything is working good. My wifi works perfect which I couldn't get to work with x99's kernel no matter how I tried flashing it including a full wipe.
What speed does this kernel boot at? Is there any way you can implement any of Scary's goodies into your kernel? I liked that his let's you do 184 min. Also any way to go higher than 1.5 ghz as I like using 1.8 at times. What is the sleep max on say ondemand etc. Anyway your gonna do undervolting?
Anyway thanks for the kernel and the hard work!

yes as soon as my team member get's back from vaction we'll be working on things like that. So the kernel can be worked on more
I basicly pushed this kernel out as soon as I had it working perfectly
After an hour or so of testing I have experienced no launcher or messenger app lag, whatever you did here its working for me.. I wonder if its the BFS? Do you know if bcnice aosp kernel used this too? His kernel is the only other like this that performed so well..

yes I do think it's bfs. I noticed how well the animations and graphics are so smooth. If I went back to none bfs I don't think I'd like it haha
Not sure about bcnice has it
Don't install this kernel version over the latest nightly, some things like wifi seem to not be working. I'll work on a updated version as I really want to stay up-to-date haha
Updated kernel but I have to remove bfs due to compatibility issues
Soo far everything is running great. I have no issues running 1.8ghz at all if I'm using ondemand governor.
How much did you undervolt? Meaning is it kinda like scary's or more like Bc's or X99's.
Thanks for making a great kernel. Everything works for me perfect.
1 request... Can you add 184mhz like Scary had? My phone saves lots of battery when I use it.

This kernel is nice and fast on Shift Deck ROM but it seems to be a little rough on my battery. I've only been using it for about 4 hours, so maybe with some tweaking I can get it back up to par. Really enjoying the speed though.. Appreciate the great work.

Most of the changes in the nighties you are not going to notice a whole lot. The biggest changes are changes in the kernel. This kernel was built of the latest nightly kernel just a couple of days ago so it should be compatible with all the nightlies unless they mess with the kernel some more. But cyanogen just tweeted that we will have a rc soon So I'd just wait until then. Also I'm going to take a look at the stock ota update and see if I can hack the kernel and rom for us to intall without the latest hboot
Post here for your feedback on what you would like to see in the future for the Lightning Zap! kernel.
I want to know what are the most widely used governors, io-schedulers and over/under clock voltages.

Love the kernel sio/smartass combo is what I'm rocking...great battery life and super smooth keep up the great work. It makes it sooo hard to update to a new phone w the battery life I'm getting on my SR w this kernel and w Nibbles ROM. Any chance of you releasing a ROM of your own for the SR. Either way thanks for your hard work and time you put in for SR community we have greatly benefited from you

Depends on the version, I believe the T11 base was built after October 14th so it should work. Just run a nandroid backup and try it. Worst that can happen is that it won't boot.

Anyone have some tips to get me past 50,000 points in AnTuTu benchmark? The highest i've managed so far is 48,216 points. Just need another 1,784 points and then i would be at the big 50,000 points milestone! I'm currently running the stock CyanogenMod 11S ROM (Version 44S) with AK Kernel 074, overclocked to 2.9GHz. Before anyone suggests it, i have already tried running the test in performance mode but i still can't get my score any higher!
So what else could i do to raise my score further? Any help would be most appreciated!

Use a hexadecimal editor like Game Killer (carefully) and edit the score, if you like to break score milestones and know how to edit simple adresses.
This way is not recommended.

Guess i'll just have to wait until they release an update before i can try it! This is my record so far on AK Kernel clocked at 2.9GHz.

Nope it isn't a joke at all, i'm being serious! Still can't beat my previous score, i'm starting to think 50,000 isn't even possible on my particular device.
I love android 'cause I can find ingredients in XDA to cook some kernels with flavors of my-own to improve the device for my own need. Sharing here so it maybe be useful for others.
This kernel is based on the source code by The Sickness
Some flavors from me:
- update source code using the latest PD2 source code from SamSung
- add Row IO Scheduler
- disable kernel debug to save battery
- build with UberTC 4.9 for its reliability
- remove some governors from the source because there were too many
- moded Interactive and cfq (V2)
The kernel is smooth, cool and battery friendly. I am quite satisfied with it :victory:!
Instruction:
- flash using recovery
- For wifi to remember password see this trick by @tdunham
Download:

Credits:
- Full credits goes to @The Sickness for his source code and everything!:good:

Id say my battery life has definitely improved. I wish I had previous stats but I know for a fact it has gotten better with this kernel. Over 4 hours of screen time on one charge and close to 5 hours of screen time with the other. Almost 2 hours of youtube on both charges and other apps (slither n pokemon go)..only apps you need imho.. lol.. thanks for this kernel my phone is running as fast if not faster but it is definitely getting better battery life.
Hey forest how did you manage to have it give you 13hrs remaining on 39 percent? What other tweaks do you have? Im using same kernel, governor and I/O and im getting 4 hours on 22 percent.

Hi. It all depend on the pattern of use. If you use heavily for games or power hungry apps then the remaining time for battery will be short.
I use mostly indoor, automatic brightness, for checking exchange mail, reading flips and local news using an app, and few short phone calls.

Would you consider adding back the conservativex governor? I got great battery life using it with Sickness's kernel, but I prefer yours otherwise.
