Hey guys. It's sad for me to say, but I just sold my One X tonight. Someone offered me a price I couldn't refuse. I just bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 so I may also get a Samsung phone to match.
I will miss this community dearly! Like I said in the 'Introduce Yourself' thread, this has been the best experience I've had on XDA since I joined. I hope you guys get JB soon. The wait was tough. If someone wants access to the files of the theme I made a while back I'd be glad to hand it over.

P.S. I usually don't keep a specific phone for too long. I end up getting bored with it no matter how much development there is. It's just that there's so much different tech out there that I try to use as much of it as I can. Maybe it's my OCD, but I think it's just my love for technology lol.

I never thought I'd say this again but I'm actually enjoying the switch a bit. I still have my Note 10.1 to tinker with Android style and this iPhone isn't permanent I don't think.

No problem IPhones is a solid piece of hardware. I have the 4s, if it had a bigger screen I'd use it as a daily phone. But then again I get bored with a device after awhile so I'm thinking of trying win phone 8 for awhile.

Honestly? I just got my replacement One X about a week ago, still flawless. If someone offered me the iPhone 5 in beyond good condition (No cosmetic, good battery, etc.) I would take it. It's a solid piece of hardware.

It just arrived through ups.
Its the LG G2X, and I'm extremely jealous looking at all the cool features it has, not to mention it's dual core.
I just took it out of the box, and looked at it.
Didn't turn it on or anything, because, well, its her Christmas present...
So i am pleading to you guys to give me some good reasons why I shouldn't stick my phone in that box, and pretend that's the new phone she got, while I sneakly keep the g2x as if it has been my phone all along.
Octane 3.0 themed version. Gotta wait until its available and you've tried it before jumping ship Other than that, umm I moved to a G2X myself. But I still have the SGS4G. Umm reasons to stay with it..... battery lasts noticeably longer, screens brighter, speakers alot louder! Other than that I love my G2X
Yeah, the g2x does look pretty badass.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to be satisfied with modding and hacking it for her, lol.
Best of all is, it was free, just by adding it to my family plan.

Nah, I think there's still some life to come onto this phone yet.
I have been around since the kb5 enhanced days, and i know we go through slow periods here, but there is always something new on the horizon.

Well, she got lucky they are giving them away for free.
I mean it would be kind of stupid getting a lesser quality phone for the same price ($0), just so my phone would be better.
My dad gave me a g1 when he had a blackberry pearl that was old and my mom had a verizon pay phone. Yes, he payed contract price for it. So ya, you should be as kind as that. Also, my dad also gave me the SGS4g, but my whole family has an SGS4g

Plus, she's been a good kid.
She just got her from Brazil this year, and has made tremendous progress in learning English, and getting good grades in school.
And ill be happy with modding the phone to her taste.
Just likei do to my wife.
In a way, this is still a present for me, because the most enjoyment i get of a phone is modding it.

The most puzzling thing is that it has the same specs as the T-Mobile Galaxy SII, but is branded as a Galaxy S device.
I'm sorry but as valid as these responses get thus is ridiculous. Just return the phone and wait if it bothers you so much. This phone prob won't be out for another six months. By then when you buy it some "better" phone will be announced. What are you hoping to buy that is future proof?

It seems to me like this is a dumbed down version of the GSII. First of all they are calling it a "Galaxy S" instead of Galaxy S II, and the screen is called "Super Amoled", but not Super Amoled Plus or HD.

Samsung probably figured out how to fix our screen issues with the lines and blotches and decided that instead of admitting fault and having to fix all the sold phones with the issue they could just release a new model with no issues and a better res to make money instead of losing it... guess ill probably wait for the galaxy s3 hd blaze... n this whole galaxy fiasco is starting to remind me of the iphone adding a letter or number to the end without really even upgrading anything in the phone

I think im gonna miss the infuse community the most...you guys are so helpful and friendly for noobs and those who know a lot...this phone has served me well...and still is a great phone...sadly me teenage brain has gotten bored of it and wants something new tk mess around with...so at best ill have my infuse for a few more days...already been offerd 235 for it...
So with all that said...goodbye infuse community, you will be missed but i will still stop by from time to time...

That's funny, I do the exact opposite. I use my One X for development and my Infuse as my daily driver.

I have been in that road back and fourth after trading my iPhone 4 32g for the Infuse and I do not regret it one bit. I would wait for the Galaxy S3 if i were you unless you have a reason not to. Ex: smaller screen. That is my plan as soon as prices come down a little.

I miss the superamoled screen...but other than that the vivid seems like a greatphone so far...although the micfousb port is in the most awkward spot...right on the bottom left side making it uncomfortable to use it while charging...but a dual core 1.2 GHz processor (that was actually underclocked by HTC...its normal speed is 1.5GHz or so I've read...), 1GB of ram phone for what was pretty much a trade for the infuse...I'm satisfied...but I do miss that screen lol
Plan on staying stock for a while so j cM figure out this thing they call sense lol
I also found out...in order to get LTE I need a new sim that supports it...

Well...I just wanted to try something completely new...my dad has the atrix so I'm kinda used to motoblur, I'm used to touchwiz...never used an HTC device though so I just wanted to get one...the vivid was just right for the price...couldn't afford a one x and didn't want to downgrade...so I sold the infuse and added $5 to that money and bought the vivid...it just kinda worked out, wasn't like I was out on a hunt for only a vivid...just got it cause it was inexpensive and it was dual core with more ram...

I can sum it up for you in one sentence.
The Samsung Galaxy S 3 is not locked down, and the HTC One X is.
I know two people who switched and didn't have one that was locked down. One is a developer and one did some theming.

I have an S3 on my account, I got it for a buddy of mine. I've spent a good deal of time playing with it and can't see the appeal at all. It just isn't anywhere near as nice as the HOX. 2GB of RAM, that's it. Everything else about it sucks compared to the HOX. My 1GB is working just fine for me.

Bingo u hit the nail on the head. People complain about the lack of removable battery. Ummmmmmm maybe 10% of pple would actually carry a spare. IPhone doesn't remove battery and I'm sure we're all aware of how well that does. And as far as storage goes, yea it wouldn't hurt to atleast have 32gb. But I havent filled 16. So consider me happy.

H8rift. XsMagical. Scott. And others are more then enough reasons for me to never leave this phone. And Rohan has done amazing things with AOKP and he is still in highschool if I'm not mistaken. These guys make our phone what it is and we have to work around ATT and HTC security features. The Devs we have are a reason not to leave.

Then you should ask them. And couple people isn't everyone.
The main reason is: most users if they don't buy the iPhone they'll go for sammy because of the brand. You don't know much about a smartphone but you at least know they make good tv's, computers, refrigerators, you name it. Where else do you see the HTC logo? Many people didn't hear about it. So, obviously pick the Samsung instead.

H8rift. XsMagical. Scott. And others are more then enough reasons for me to never leave this phone. And Rohan has done amazing things with AOKP and he is still in highschool if I'm not mistaken. These guys make our phone what it is and we have to work around ATT and HTC security features. The Devs we have are a reason not to leave.

What is the big deal about which smartphone you use? I would bet that most people on XDA are pretty well clued up about phone tech and so, money permitting, they will make an informed purchase, buying the phone that suits them best.
I own the SGS3 and yeah, I think it is top notch handset, but that doesn't mean I diss other handsets. I like to think I'm more evolved than that (though some of my pals would dispute that :laugh. If someone comes to me for smartphone buying advice, I will try my best to give an informed opinion based on my experience and their tech knowledge and needs...and quite often I'd send them down the iPhone route, not because I think it is a better phone (though Apple, whether you like it or not, make fantastic hardware, just a shame about the company ethos), but because it is probably the best phone for them.
Most on this particular thread will probably own an HTC...again good top noth handsets, but I personally avoid them due to a very bad customer service experience a couple of years ago (threads can be found elsewhere), but that doesn't stop me recommending them to others (though I do also relate my experiences). And many others on XDA will own a whole variety of other smartphones.
The point is, does it matter which phone you own? Yes, some people will spend a fortune on a top end handset just for bragging rights, but there's nothing worse than a 'phone snob'. Most of us on XDA buy what is best for us and are generally happy and if we're not, we switch.
You pays your (hard earned) cash and makes your (well informed) choice. Enjoy what you have, worry not what other think about it and be proud that you are part of XDA and have the knowledge to tinker with and give advice about your techie toys. Just don't get caught up in a 'mine's better than yours' debate.

Even though it sounds evil I would love to see the Iphone 5 get banned in the US. Apple needs to be put in its place so that technology can evolve freely.

I think they both need to suck it up and get over it. If they both have so many billions to waste, why not give it to charities instead of each other? Bottom line- the i5 sucks something fierce but won't go away... we can only put them in their places with our rooted, over clocked, custom Android Phones

Don't think it will help anyone if the successfully ban the Iphone 5. It will just give every company the impression than they can now go to court file some paperwork and screw with their bottomline even if only temporary.

I agree that the patent trolling and lawsuit wars helps no one in the end. And I'm sure the iPhone 5 won't get banned. But doing nothing seems like a bad strategy for HTC and Samsung. Seems to make sense to fight back. Otherwise it like just letting someone kick the crap out of you, and doing nothing.
If there was some way to get all parties to just stop with the lawsuits, and just concentrate on making awesome and competitive products, that would be wonderful. But I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.
As much as I hate apple and what they're doing, these patent wars are getting obnoxious. Can't we just get along? In the end, it's us that feel the backlash!

This is what apple has done to HTC multiple times, I believe this phone was banned in the us because of apple

It was banned for quite a while. I got really lucky that the best buy I went to had one. Although it was kinda fun cause I could rub it in my friends faces cause they couldn't get it yet. Made me feel special
Pretty sure apple also got the galaxy nexus taking off of the google website for a couple days as well.

The One X wasn't so much "banned" as "delayed" by US Customs (at the request of Apple) until it was verified that the phone conformed to the patent ruling on the feature to launch an app when an URL, phone number, etc. was tapped in an email or text.
Why it took a month for Customs to verify this, I have no idea.
That's the word I couldn't think of. Delayed. Sorry

i vaguely recall being able to click on a link/phone number/etc and having it do what i want on my OLD windows mobile phone that was released pre iphone. But hey, I guess if i could sue anyone if i bought them all ipads too.
