I'm using alien droid on my verizon Gnex. and im loving it so far. EXCEPT I really missed the power shutter button in the camera app ie: the mod that allows you to use the power button to take pictures. It was way more convenient for me. So my question is there any way I can implement that mod into this rom? I know I could try to use an older camera app all together, but i prefer to use the 4.1.2 / 4.2 camera app with the photo sphere and everything. Anyone have any ideas?

I could have sworn that with the stock camera app -- there was a setting to use the power button to snap pictures. I was experimenting with this about 3 days ago. I was switching back and forth between a custom rom and stock 4.1.2 (root). However now I seem to have lost that feature.
I like using Camera MX and Cymera as well but they don't have a power button snap pic feature. Can anyone tell me what camera app would give me this feature?

I am searching for an camera app or a way i could use the burst option again. I have an HTC One X with IceColdJelly 4.2.2 and the camera app cant do an burst with pressing the photo button long. I want the similar camera app when i had an Stock HTC.

I just got a universal selfie stick from eBay, and it's not working with my phone. In order for the selfie stick to work, you have to plug a jack to the phone, and you have to change the camera button to the volume keys. That's where the problem is. I can't seem to find an option to this anywhere.
Is there any ways to change the camera button to the volume keys without rooting?

I think stock camera app doesn't have that feature. Try Camera Zoom FX > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.camZoomFree It should have it in settings.

Hi. I'm using z3, 5.1.1 and rooted.
I don't like sony camera. Camera fv5 better than this. But I cant find how to assign another camera app to camera button.
Tried a better camera. This app have an option to use hardware key to open the app but it do nothing.
Is there another way to change default camera app? Mod or xposed?

I have been having trouble getting my default camera app to work with a selfie stick (blitzwolf BW-BS3).
When I press the camera button on the selfie stick after connecting it to my phone via Bluetooth, it imitates a zoom in & out instead of an enter key. This causes the default camera app to zoom in then out, without taking a photo.
Do you guys have an easy workaround or can recommend a good camera app with 18:9 to replace the default camera app?:good:
