System Operation (SO)......

you mean factory reset

That is the magic fix for most questions posted to Samsung support...
Shame if it doesn't work...

Me too ... bad apps update ...
just do "UnInstall Update" from system -> App Manager ... it will back to prev version ... it works
Actually I never use Samsung app store ...

I did it but each time I'm triying to open the app it's saying a new version is available and cancel it closes the app.

Play market

I am trying to buy an app from the market, but it tells me there is an error. I cleared cache, wiped app data, checked my cc info from my computer. I can buy stuff via my pc, but not my phone. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I Have no options to downgrade or remove updates. I can disable and reenable it, Which makes me accept terms and conditions again but still gives me an error code when trying to buy something

you might want to grab an older version of the market app from somewhere, there are plenty of Gapps packages available on the internet.
It's what worked for me when i couldn't install anything from the market. Restore an old backup, and re-upgrade. That fixed it.
The way I did it was through clearing the cache in settings and uninstalling updates. It worked for me after that.

Went into script manager and tried to uninstall, it wouldn't let me. It asked what I wanted to do with the file, and gave options, one is them being install, so installed vender and phonsky again. Went into apps, play was twice is normal size, had the option to uninstall updates, I did so, and cleared cache. Nothing but an error.

it would be good if you post wich error Google Play tell you, then if someone already fixed that can help you.
I've got a problem with google play, it doesn't install anymore any app, free or shareware, so i removed market and installed an older .apk found on the web, from then on, also after the re-update it started again to work. Also if your phone is rooted you can avoid the automatic update.
I hope this could be useful
Sooooo using rom toolbox, I uninstalled play. I grabbed a very old school market, it worked, but it didn't want to update to play. I junked that, I grabbed inverted market (black and blue) and still the same issue.

How to update apps? Please help

I download plenty of beta version apps and homebrew apps (not from market). Is there a way to update these without losing app data by uninstalling and reinstalling the new version. I don't want to lose the app data.
Thanks

Just install the new versions over the old ones. (App will be updated without data loss)
It doesn't let me do that. It tells me the previous version must be uninstalled before installing the new one.

In that case, use an app such as Titanium Backup to backup your data, then uninstall the old app and install the new one. After that, restore the data.
Do I need to root my phone to use that app?

it doesnt let me update , it forces me to uninstall making me lose data.
As stated the only way to do it is do back up the data with titanium back up. Uninstall the app, install new one and then restore the settings.
Also be careful about getting apks from places other then the official app stores or here

Is rooting safe?

As safe as installing apps you get outside of the play store. Safer even. Just do your research

Huge problem with Google Apps

Gmail is not syncing, calendar is not syncing, play store says server error, Google+ is crashing, Google drive work, this started today, I've done everything and nothing seems to work, I reflashed the gapps, reflashed my rom, (cm10), turned sync on and off, went to a nandroid backup from a week ago, and nothing solves the problem, any idea of what is happening? Thanks

Why don't you post this on your device forum and not on the General forum?

Something similar happened on my old phone, if I remember correctly, I would go in and clear data for the Google services framework. Dunno if it will help in your case but it did for me.

Odd that it says that. I wish I had an answer for you man. You said you restored them from rom toolbox... So it still shows up like that? Does it do the same with the play store app installed?

I'd say you have a problem with ROM toolbox. IT doesn;t play nice with a lot of ROMs
Try NOT restoring apps. Can you dl fresh install from play store?
If so, dl app from store and only restore app data after...

Yea I saw the screenshots. I use both titanium backup and rom toolbox and I've never had an issue from either no matter the rom. I prefer TB to Rom even though I own licenses to both versions. And yes matter of fact the last screenshot says COMPATIBLE if you were to look at it again.
