[Q] Phone Turing On With No Cennection To Network - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Not sure if anyone else has came across this problem with CM-10, but the past few days when i power my phone up, the phone will boot up fine, but with no network connection. The only way to get a connection is to reboot the phone. Also im still having the ear piece volume still acting wacky. I did update to latest nightly, and now the seems to start crackled, but as soon as i hit volume up or down it becomes fine. Before the volume seemed to always default all the way up even though the volume level indicator was all the way down. To fix that problem i figured out to raise volume all the way up, then down and it was fine for that call. Is their any where i can leave detailed issues to the developer to inform them (Chopsticks).
Thanks

That used to ALWAYS happen to me,
I used a couple different methods each time and they all worked for me maybe it can help you:
1-Flash a radio for your network (DONT forget Nandroid)
2- Reflash the ROM but dont wipe
3-Go settings > Mobile Networks > APN and check if something's changed or a different is selected
Those noises are probably because of a nightly rom, When i used Cm-10 I had them so I flashed something else and it helped.

G2x continuously rebooting the lg logo screen

My phone runs perfectly fine until I enable Gps location. Once I enable GPS location, it freezes, then it reboots my phone and it slowly do a system check, then it continuously rebooting the lg logo screen. I tried taking out the battery and put it back in, even took out my battery for a day and it still does the same. I'm not sure if it's the hardware problem, but it's a pretty rare case, since I read most of the threads in forums, people said it can be fix once you pull out the battery, but somehow it's not working for me. Anyone knows the reason why? Btw, my phone is not rooted or used any 3rd party program.
Ah. Posted too soon. There's a master reset that I believe is Power and Volume Up. Try that.
Unfortunately, it's still not working. Is there any other possible way? Or else I have to call in and return it.
Try turning off the phone, then press power + vol down and hold it until you see the word android. This should do the factory reset.

It sounds like the permissions are not correct, or perhaps that your ROM was not flashed correctly. I have seem this problem happen numerous times due to bad firmware flashes or ROM issues. I would just download a new copy of the latest CM 7 ROM or whatever your favorite ROM is and flash it through CWM.
Thanks guys for the help. I found out that you have to hold down first then power button for around 30 second and then the droid animation comes out. I was so close to returning it. Thanks!

[Q] girlfriends volume wont turn up on her phone?

my girls volume wont turn on at all? anyone ever hear about this problem? it isn't rooted....
not sure if it will help, but try this: from the home screen, press the menu button, then choose settings>sound>volume, and check the settings for the various volumes, i.e incoming call, media, system, etc. when my phone was stock like hers, sometimes one or more of those volumes got pushed down to 0 for some reason... it was annoying, and it seemed to happen especially to my notifications volume every time i rebooted the phone! hope that helps
I'm having the exact same issue
Hey everyone. So I bought a sidekick 4g on craigslist the other day. I checked it out and thought everything was okay, but I was wrong. So far no response from the jerk who sold it to me without telling me about this problem.
The phones volume up key doesn't work 90% of the time. If I reboot the phone or leave it off for a while, the volume up key will work for a few minutes and then stop again. The funny thing is the volume up key works when I want to reboot (holding vol.up + vol.down and power button at the same time).
So is there any fix for this? Will rooting it and loading a rom fix it? Also I am new to all of this, is it even possible to root and load generginger 2.0 with a broke volume up button? The phones firmware is all up to date.
Thanks for any info and help everyone.
i'd suggest using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275116
root the phone, and then go back to stock with the heimdall and see if that fixes the problem. and if it does then you should try rooting it again and install one of the Custom ROMs because the stock OS on this phone is garbage out of the box.
but i'm no expert either, it just seems strange that only when its been on for a bit that it stops working. that it works when you boot it seems to suggest that its a software issue? somebody help me out here guys lol

Screen won't turn on after screen timeout

I've recently picked up my new Infinity and I've noticed that after the screen times out (I've set it to 30 seconds), it won't turn back on after I press the power button. Sometimes I have to press it numerous times before it will show the lock screen; other times, I've had to press the outer button down to reboot it.
Is anyone else having this issue or know what the issue is?
I have "same" problem and is driving me crazy. Did a cold boot, did a factory reset (through cold boot and through OS) - didn't help.
When my pad is in a locked/sleep state for longer time, it doesn't wake up anymore. It is draining battery as a sponge, but doesn't receive e-mails etc...so it could be it freezes or the wifi is off.
This problem is usually reported with a fact that one has enabled to turn off wifi when in sleep state (prime forums)...
My case:
- i had set wifi to never sleep
- i fiddled with build.prop and i think only after that the problem emerged (i mention this because there is a setting about sleep/wifi thing)
- i have restored orginial build.prop
- i have tried to set wifi to turn off in sleep
- i switched back to never sleep
- i coold boot, factory reset
Nothing helps anymore.
It is better with the Power Fx widget i think.
It happens less regulary, but it still does and I also don't know what else to do.
Some are reporting there is a bug in 4.0.3 ICS - but i don't know.
I think this is not a HW issue, and i refuse to do so
Hopefully JB update will solve this, too.
BTW: as i mentioned in my other topic on this matter, i am pretty surprised that factory reset didn't change my bootanimation and some other stuff on the system folder. Because of this fact i think factory reset will not help with this problem as it seems it leaves some things intact, which could also mean that if there is something wrong with SW it just doesn't overwrite/change it and that's why the problem is still here (broken file, changed file, cache...i don't know).
If this problem persist for a week or so and if there is still no JB update i will probably just go and install the latest update manually, which i think should overwrite all files. But, not sure.
Please if anyone has any idea on what is going on....
I have this same issue. It usually occurs after long periods of being idle and I pick it up to use it, hit the power button to wake it up, and it just doesn't wake up.
I have to hold the power button + vol down button to restart it.
Sometimes it'll happen when I just put it to sleep too or after short idle periods.
It's somewhat embarrassing when in public using it and randomly have to reboot; it also did it once when I was in class taking notes, thankfully SuperNote saves as I go.
Any ideas what the cause is? I'm only rooted, no custom recoveries, ROMs, kernels, etc. I'm running the stock ROM .26

Missing functions after reflash

My HTC One S is running CM11, and a common problem is the very low speaker volume.
I tried changing the value of the speaker volume in snd_soc_msm_2x, but after saving it, a large part of the file disappeared, and after my battery reached zero and my phone died, it was stuck in a bootloop when I tried to turn it on again.
So, I flashed CM11 again, everything works fine but there are 2 missing features at the moment.
1. The home button and multitask buttons don't do anything anymore, they still light up and vibrate though.
2. I have a pin code to unlock my phone, but it only asks for my pin code when I turn it on the first time. When I lock my phone and unlock it, it doesn't ask for a pincode.
Maybe there are even more problems but this is just what I noticed until now.
Tried wiping cache and dalvik, didn't help.
Any advice?

You should have edit the file on your pc not on your phone. This is why part of the file disappeared. After editing you could have replace the original one (making a backup first)

Thanks for the information, now I know what to do in the future.
Hope that I can fix my current problems aswell though.
I'm not sure what the low speaker volume problem is. I had OK speaker volume but terrible headphone volumes. I was never able to increase the voice level only - just the overall volume of everything. This made the voice louder but everything else much louder.

How to fix some Android Pie problems.

I was having some problems with adaptative battery turning on by itself so i talk with the support and they give me a trick that actually fixed the problem. They said that it can fix also another problems so i will explain here, in the worst case is just a waste of time.
Turn the phone off and connect to the charger.
Enter recovery:
-Hold power + Vol Up until the phone turn on and then release power but not volume.
-You will see and ****ed up android. Hold power and press vol up for 3 seconds and release volume up.
With this you will be in the recovery. With the vol keys go to "Perform a Graphic Test" and press power to execute. It is kinda weird but it doesn't perform a graphic test, it just reinstall a update or something
So if you are experiencing some weird behavior you can try this and see if it solve it.
I've done it, but the Wifi issue comes back aber 1-2 days
or immediatelly if you perform some FlyMode ENABLE/DISABLE
I made a video of the mobile after the refrresh and after the issue comes back
Paired with 2 other smartphones
You can notice when the issue is "active" the mobile just see 1-3 WiFis SSID (normally they're 10 or more)
And it even reports a wrong signal strenght
Plus it fails to connect to the Paired Wifi several times (eventaully always)
Resetting the Android networking system doen not work
Usually a soft clean helps (reboot with VolUP + power and wait for AndroidONE screen to appear twice (I guess they're actually 2 consecuve reboots)
Lol Support sold you a lemon. The "graphics test" is literally just playing the animations the recovery should when installing an update. It's not doing a damn thing. I think the reboot just helped you out.
I had the wifi issue and it worked for me. Now wifi connects after enable / disable flymode without rebooting the device.
thanks

They didn't sold my a lemon because i did it and it actually solve the problem. Before i tried everything, including reset, hard reset, deleting all the battery system app cache and data, disabling them, enabling them again, nothing worked and adaptative battery kept turning itself on. I had the problem for months. I asked the guy how permorming a graphic test is related to some bug in adaptative battery and he said he doesn't know and Ingenineer team said that to him, it seems that it is not only a graphic test, maybe Nokia touch something there. The thing is it solved my problem, that is why i shared it here just in case.

I think you should wait just 1-2 days before saying it. I hope it really worked cause I have the same wifi issue.

This morning, after the night in flightmode, wifi doesn't connect without a reboot. But now, just the same as yesterday, i can switch flightmode on / off and wifi connects normally. So maybe it depends on the time the flightmode is enabled?

I dont know mate..I usually switch to airplane mode during the night when I go to sleep cause I dont want to loose battery during the night..we can try not to activate it but I hope we will have a fix in January.
I experienced this problem after installing the January Security Patch on my Nokia 7 Plus. My router is a Huawei and my network SSID is hidden. I tried a few things:
* Reset network settings
* Restarted in Safe Mode - added network and could connect (note, it's a hidden network so I selected that option in Advanced Settings)
* Rebooted into normal operation, would not connect
* Modified my router's settings so the network was no longer hiding its SSID.........phone connected!! Seems stable so far.
Can anyone confirm any similarities with the above and if the steps work for you?
I have two Nokia 7+ phones, one works fine on Wifi the other refused to connect.
I did the graphics test as above and it now connects without any issues.
I will wait and see how long this 'fix' lasts for.
Fingers crossed.
I tried to enter that special mode (recovery) but it just boots into the system! I have had many phones and got into their recoveries quite easily. However seems like I misunderstood the instructions here? Can someone explain me more in detail how to perform the graphic test?

adb reboot recovery
Or
When poweron/reboot hold PowerBtn+VolUp until you see "no command" with green Android logo
In both method is switch from "no command" to menu by pressing PowerBtn+VolUp

Eventually I did the "graphic test" which indeed performs just the animation as another user was saying, because WiFi issue has not improved.
What I was doing wrong when trying to access the recovery was simply not connecting the phone to a power source prior to pressing vol up and power.
Just picked a 7 plus a week back & loving the phone so far. Given it had 8.1 out of the box I went through the day 1 upgrades and had a few of these problems. Being a new phone, a factory reset post upgrade was no big deal (I keep everything backed up so it's rarely a big deal) and my wifi problems went away with it. I've found this with Android upgrades in the past. Hard for the Devs to treat every upgrade permutation given apps and time, but easy to test the clean slate, so more likely to be stable that way.
