I'm referring to replacing the animation that plays when I'm powering down the device completely. In order to replace the pink Tmobile logo. Is this possible?
I like to know also???
EDIT:
Does that pink goodbye and sound bother you???

Bothers me for a couple reasons. First, its something that I can't seem to find a way to modify, so it represents a challenge. Second, it is the only element of my phone that doesn't follow a similar color scheme.

It's how the carriers get you with all that extra crap on the phones.

I found my shutdown animation inside /system/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericcson/shutdownanim/shutdown.mp4
Haven´t deleted it yet, because I´m looking for another one to replace it.
On the G2X the power off animation is in the poweroff.apk app. You need to decompile, change and recompile the apk to change the shutdown animation. Or just use another one from another G2X rom (same Android version) that already has a power down animation you prefer.
Hey guys I came from a thunderbolt a few months back but something I miss is the ability too have splash screens which instead of the HTC logo you can have your image.now my question is how can we remove the Samsung boot image and change it to our liking
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
explain what you mean by splash screen please... if it is the boot animation, then any humble ROM has its own. just make sure to clear all the cache's before flashing.

He's talking about the black screen that says "Samsung" I think. I used to change this all the time on previous phones but never even thought of changing it on this one yet. Good idea though! Gonna look into this and see what I can come up with.
Exactly thanks spc

So can I change that to whatever I want or does it have to be a certain size or is it connected to other files is why it was said it cant be changed? I see in photoshop it can use or create .png files. I took the samsung.jpg and copied it to my sdcard but it doesnt see it. I did it straight to the sd card and then to a folder. Guess Ill have to play around with it more. Dang lol I need to learn photoshop. I have the logo opened but need to change the backround and type. Guess Ill use a different program to create then import and adjust.

It looks like it's going to be almost impossible to change it and here some things I noticed about trying to change it:
1. File size has to stay the same.
2. You can't rename the original logo.jpeg to anything else. If you do, it will revert back to logo.jpeg automatically.
I only increased the file size by 11kb and it will not take. You will keep getting the error that there is not enough disk space left.
I'm going to try to remove a system app or 2 and see if that makes any difference.

i mean i even looked in the Blur-res.apk and nope not there...

p.s. as a side note id also like to change my text message status bar icon and dont know where that is either. to be honest, ive wasted most my time looking for the email icon.
thanks!
Are you wanting the icon changed itself in the apk or just in the status bar?

Really both. I just figured the status bar icon was most important to me.

I'm not real sure about the status bar. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You might try the systemui.apk or framework-res apk. As far as the other icons it should just be in the apk itself or the blur-res apk. You are on the right path though.

No I tried those places. And changing the icons didn't stick. When I rebooted it just went back to normal
That's the only places i would think that they are. Hopefully one of the devs will read your post and help you out. Sorry couldn't help. I know that replacing icons sometimes gets frustrating, I've been there.

Hi! I'm not sure where to put this, but I think it's an app I'm after so I'll make a try here.
Is there any way, like an app, to control the volume buttons? I change the volume accidently all the time, actually I rarely ever want to change it since this is a wifi only version and I I find the system sounds just disturbing. So turning them off completely would be nice, and I've searched for a app to do this but no luck yet.. A small widget to replace the power button sure ain't hard to find so it must be possible.
Thanks in advance!

As far as I can tell that's just an app to change the volume in the status bar. It doesn't seems to turn off the hardware buttons, or is it?

I have no idea what you mean but there ain't a way to turn off the buttons in the settings as far as I can see. And that's my problem, I know how to change the volume without using the buttons, there's even apps for that like the one linked above. But I've not found any to turn off the buttons, preferably all the time except for when it change the media volume but it's not the end of the world if I have to do that manually in the device as well..

Congrats you helped this person exactIy 0%....
1.He stated he didnt know if he had placed his post in the right section ,he didnt ask where he should have placed it.
2.Why reply at all with an abscence of an answer, ie: "But I dont know of any app for that" .If everyone who didnt know of an "app for that" posted, the post would be 4,000 pages long....just stay on the sidelines.
3.OP didnt ask what YOU wanted/needed..."Never wanted needed something like that"
4.Your thinly veiled condemnation of his misfingering his device (accidentally adjusting the volume) is completely uncalled for.
MODS: My apologies if I am out of line.
OP: I would think a mod rather than an app might be what you seek.Apps being more device universal.Try the Themes section.Lotta mods there.

Like what Jonathanpeyton said.. You need a Mod not an App to disable hardware buttons.. Sorry i misunderstood u earlier..

Well I suppose it's good to know next time how to think when posting a new thread, I use different forums all the time but I'm not used to this "is it a question, post it in Q&A no matter the topic". To me every thread should be posted in the section that best describes the subject no matter if it's a question or not but that's obviously not the case here.

Hmm, I was worried about that but since there seems to be an app for everything now I thought there might be that for this as well. I know that I'm not the only one with this problem, and besides many with me think that the buttons are turned upside down when you use the device on portrait mode like I do now. If I have it turned with camera facing to the right seen from the screen side volume up is down and if I rotate it 180 degrees I can't hold and it while typing without accidently pressing the buttons.
Actually I think the button to adjust the system sounds is useless on a wifi-only device, but that's a different story. So to get back to topic, I suppose this mod can't be done without rooting the device first?

There's an app called volume locker which locks your volume unless you confirm any changes due to pressing buttons.
