General Questions
Q: What's different between SDCard version and ROM version?
A: SDCard version will able to run Android without Remove your Windows Mobile, but SDCard version is slow and low performance and eats more battery life and it's still in Test version, we can say SDCard is a Test beta version & before you want to completely have Android on HTC HD Mini.
And for ROM version, of course ROM's versions are faster, more performance, more battery life, and the most important until now ROM's versions are more Stable for HTC HD Mini. but your Windows Mobile System will be removed, and you can Change back anytime.
Q: How can I get Back to from Android's SDCard version to Windows Mobile?
A: Simply Restart Android by holding down power button and tap on Restart.
Q: So in SDCard version, Means when I come back to Windows Mobile.. I will not notice a difference?
A: In fact, there are two reported issue:
1. After running android, the GPS in WM may not work. Solution is : launch Andriod again, go to Settings -> Location, and enable checkbox Use GPS satellites
2. If you lower ringtone volume in Android you will also have lower ringtone in WM(even if it's on maximum)
Q: What do you mean "you must have a good microSDHC" for SDCard version?
A: Means you should try on Good quality microSDHC products, and at least 1GB storage, Bad cheap microSDHC will freeze and won't come up Android, you can buy for example: Samsung, SanDisk, Transcend, Kingstone, Lexar, A-Data, Imation....etc
Q: How can I install Android's SDCard version at all?
A: Click on this, this method is for almost SDCard versions for Photon.
Q: Where is SDCard Android is installed?
A: Android is installed by using a clean SD Card, and booted from there. It is booted by running a special application called 'Haret.exe' residing on your SD Card which will terminate the Windows kernel and boot into Android.
Q: Will the ROM's version remove Windows Mobile (WM) completely forever life?
A: No, You can change what you want forever life! .. so those won't be affected to Phone .. and whenever you want to switch back to WM just do these steps:
1- Download Official Stock ROM for your device from HTC Site. Take care of the language and provider brandings! It will only one work for your phone! If you have really no idea which one to take you can contact their support, they will help you!
2- Start the Utility you have just downloaded.
3- Be sure to have enough battery power, at least 50% !!
4- Unplug/Plug battery of your phone, press and hold! Volume down then press power button.
5- You should have entered 3-Color Screen now, plug the phone with your computer and start the tool! wait for the progress beeing done.
More info about Restoring/Installing for ROM's version
Q: Please I'm stuck on error nand could not read!?
A: These are all normal, Because you didn't install the Recovery correctly, try again and you should be able to enter recovery if you installed correctly.
Q: What are the versions of Android and how many available? and what is CM (CyanogenMod)
A: There are many versions: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 4.0.4
& CyanogenMod are edited version from Teams that have some features not found in Official Google Android, & not just only CyanogenMod, MIUI, AOKP....etc
for Simply, CM or CyanogenMod, and CM6 is 2.2, CM7 is 2.3, CM9 is 4.0.4, please CM8 maybe it's 3.0 for Tablets, more info CyanogenMod versions
Q: Where can I download latest release?
A: There are many ROMs, so it's you what you want. Click here!
Q: Where can I get instructions on how to install?
A: There are many versions so each versions needs it's instructions.
Q: When will we have a full working Android? when will be ready for daily use ?
A: Hard to say ..PLEASE Do not ask such things, because nobody knows, but the project is in progress ...Will be published ...
Q: Is there an porting Android on HTC HD Mini roadmap?
A: NO! Developers working in their spare time, please show some respect! and not bothering them with questions such as: When will be the X sensor designed ... or X bug fixed
Q: What kind of questions can I ask here?
A: Please look around to see if your question has already been asked (and maybe even answered!) before you ask. You should only ask practical, answerable questions based on actual problems that you face.
Q: How do I know what has already been asked and answered?
A: How to Search on XDA-Developers? - search using the XDA-Developers Forum built-in Search function, find the search bar and type in your search text, and press Enter.

ROM Factory
What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".
Supported Devices:
olympus (atrix), sunfire (photon), triumph, WX435, fb0 (triumph), p999 (lg g2x), p990 (lg o2x), p970 (lg optimus black), ace (htc desired hd), pyramid (htc sensation), galaxys2, GT-I9100, GT-I9100M, GT-I9100T, SGH-I777, SGH-I727, hercules, crespo (nexus s), crespo4g (nexus s 4g), toro (cdma galaxy nexus), maguro (gsm galaxy nexus)
Experimental Support:
umts_jordan(defy), wingray, stingray (xoom)
Your phone must be rooted!
Step One: Press the Install Resources button on screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
Step Two: Press the Create Fruit Cake button on the screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
You use this application at your own risk, I am in no way responsible for any damage this application causes.
Oficial Support for LG G2x
Back Up mode = Further information is needed for back up mode support
So this basicly makes backup of your phone in update.zip format?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Not really it backs up your current system and makes it available like any other rom.
Doesn't back up everything. Only system as far as I understand it

No.
One of the biggest reasons is that Whitehawkx released some of his personally written files to ease porting of MIUI from the O2X, so now there are a dozen and a half MIUI variants. The others just happen to be around - people have a lot of spare time during December it seems.
Oh just wondering thanks
Nvidia always!
So are people going to post their set ups in here? And do you flash this update zip like any other Rom?

1.6 - The update that took a month. Will be release today. This will be amazing. I'm just waiting on testers.
Advance Mode
Apps Mode
Back Up Mode
New look
Open Source components
New site, new forums, new devices.
The update will be made available late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on how tire I am after i get off work.
We are alive and kicking. Since release, Fruit Cake Maker has been downloaded 1,956 times. We are 556 active developers. A total of 12 bugs have been crushed. We currently work on 20+ devices and devices variants.
Nightlys and experimental.
Starting Feb 1st or 2nd. My build bot will begin auto compiling nightlys for those who want to experiment with the latest changes. Nightlys will be compile each night and made available no later than midnight.
An experimental build will begin to be compile mid Feb. the build will be compile every friday at 6pm. The experimental build will feture a different preference screen, and will require the user to specify all the variables. ie: boot location, system location, storage, mode. so on. This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.
FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.
Thank guys for your support.
I'm currently waiting on Google.
I submitted the new version into the market, but somehow i ended up with an older version being available for download. hopefully this issue will be solved soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
1.6 finally!
Some of the testers are reporting errors with the new modes, but changing storage location seem to be working quit good. I will be writing a tutorial on how to properly use all the new modes. Regardless, this new version requires Busybox for app mode, and back up mode. It must be installed on /system/xbin << same location used by cm7 and cm9. I will be releasing a new version tomorrow or Thursday, to fix some of the new mode woes.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

In case it is beneficial, I did manage to freeze the actual TouchWiz launcher after installing another launcher first. Phone still works fine. Regular lockscreen is still there after that. I do use MagicLocker as well so we might be able to remove that. Just need to know what file to freeze.
This is great news. Cant wait to get ics on samsung exhibit 2. What can i do to help? My skills are excellent in user interface design, mobile graphics.

Currently downloading a stock recovery image so I can finally fix my Exhibit II after screwing with internal files. Should be about 2 hrs or so before we see the Dev thread updated once more with another tutorial...
*UPDATE*
swonsay's Bloatware Removal Script is in the testing stages as I have been sent a copy to test.
Stay tuned to the Dev thread for the release date information.
Terribly sorry to crowd the thread with non dev info, but there is a forum open at Androidforums.com we could use if you guys want to. Maybe after development gets further along and we need multiple threads for things? androidforums.com/samsung-exhibit-2-4g/ Just wanted to put that out there.
Thank you, all the participating developers! I'm sure my phone will be happy to know that it will soon get more capabilities!
Thank you so much every dev out there working on developing cjustom ROM for the exhibit 2!!! if any help is needed on making icons or any design work please let me know! I'll do everything in my power to help!
Themed Builds
So my trusty auto de-odexer didn't work so here's try 2. I just hope I don't get it all themed up and no way to flash it. If anybody needs any stock pieces just message (ex. recov. , framework, whole ROM)
^ me too

When we get around to custom kernels and ROMs, is there anyway you guys could make the captivate keys blink like an LED notification light? I tried the keylights app, but all it does is FC :/.
I will contact the developer of the Keylights app and see if I can integrate his code into the Rom when the time comes. Good suggestion and thanks....

Hi All,
While we are all in the wait for Android 4.2..."Try, Different"
I have ported Meizu FlyMe OS 1.0.5 to MS2 based on latest CM9 (Android 4.0.4) by sfc3001
NOTE: Rom uses CH GB kernel. Have not tried working on EU GB kernel yet
Credit and Thanks :
sfc3001 - huge thanks for his CM9 rom
GalaxyUser - for his rom.
emwno - for his help and support
Lens_flare - for his guide
Necrosan for being the first one to port this rom from Meizu.
p0isonra1n - for his help, support and testing that he's done and doing.
Installation for noobs
0. Download The ROM (Mirror) and put it into root of your SD card
1. Boot into recovery
2. Nandroid backup incase you don't like it or in case it backfires at you
3. Full wipe data and cache
4. Wipe dalvik cache
5. Flash rom
6. Wipe cache and Dalvik
7. Reboot and Enjoy
Please, don't be too judgemental and any help to improve this rom is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
TIPS
Code:
- Disable keylight
Navigate to Settings > Display and bring the light dots on the bottom to 0 (all grey)
- Recent apps
Like normal ICS, you can't access recent apps menu from holding home key, but menu key instead
- Screenshot
Hold power + home button
- Using SMS in horizontal mode
SMS app > Settings > Turn on "Allows horizontal screen"
BUGS
Code:
1 - USB/SD card access - seem to be fixed by choosing Boot [2nd init + adb] from Bootmenu but resets once the cable is unplugged and USB symbol stays on status bar
2 - Mobile data network- I am getting very poor mobile connectivity and none for most of the times but phone functions work normally.
3 - Occasional com.android.phone error - Doesn't effect phone functionality but does make the phone go nuts for a second or two
4 - Settings/Netwrok -> give com.android.phone stopped - Known issue for all FlyMe OS roms
5 - Volume rocker on native/stock music player
6 - Auto rotation on some apps
7 - HW/SW inconsistency

Its Nice and Clean but have lot's of FC's appearing @ the background for less than a second and disappears.
as well as Network menu is impossible to enter. Couldn't set APN's. and if u dont have wifi or hotspot around you, u fcked
I like the ROM but back to CM10.
looks promising, still waiting for a further update
I'm working on fixing the issues but haven't made any progress yet, will release, once I fix at least one of the issues.
Today Meizu released FlyMe OS 2.0.2 based on JB (downloading)...so expect JB port real soon.
the room is fantastic in my point of view, though the most annoying bug is with the touch function keys ( menu, home, back and search).
Can't wait for the next realease ! thnks

Nope.
General rule: Wanna do something more awesome than playing silly games in your droid? You need root.
thank you
it is so beautiful.I LIKE IT
thanks again.
Hi,
A lot of people have been asking me about FlyMe OS JB version these days. Although I would really like to port it to our milestone 2, the truth is that I really hadn't had much time to work on it since I had my little baby girl, she's one now and is running around the apartment, so most of my spare time I am spending playing with her.
And I do not have the opportunity to do porting at work, since this is my hobby and it doesn't pay any bills, also a personal integrity issue comes up.
As you may know, porting a rom is one thing, which is not that hard, but it's testing and troubleshooting that takes a lot of time and makes your phone become unavailable, which I can't afford given the circumstances.
So here is the part where I reach out for your help, if you have any porting/testing experience, especially in logcatting during bootloops for Milestone 2, using ADB (push/pull), may need RSD Lite too and you're willing to contribute your time and phone up time for this, please, contact me.
Since FlyMe OS is not as popular as MIUI and it's community range is narrow, there is not much porting guide or experience sharing or lessons learned that could make this any easier.
Well, that is it. The rest is up to you, guys. Thanks
P.S. One kind request, though, if you're not sure about your technical abilities, please, do not overestimate yourself. Since the last thing we want to do, is put aside rom porting and try to bring your phone to live.
