ROM Factory
What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".

This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.
FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.
Thank guys for your support.

I'm currently waiting on Google.
I submitted the new version into the market, but somehow i ended up with an older version being available for download. hopefully this issue will be solved soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

1.6 finally!
Some of the testers are reporting errors with the new modes, but changing storage location seem to be working quit good. I will be writing a tutorial on how to properly use all the new modes. Regardless, this new version requires Busybox for app mode, and back up mode. It must be installed on /system/xbin << same location used by cm7 and cm9. I will be releasing a new version tomorrow or Thursday, to fix some of the new mode woes.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

*edit
for those of you who think this isn't working properly, it is! Just be patient. Even though the websites associated with it seem to be down, it will still work. Poke around your SD card after hitting the advanced options.

it is a very handy tool

No.
One of the biggest reasons is that Whitehawkx released some of his personally written files to ease porting of MIUI from the O2X, so now there are a dozen and a half MIUI variants. The others just happen to be around - people have a lot of spare time during December it seems.
Oh just wondering thanks
Nvidia always!

[ROM][WIP] United ICS

This is ice cream sandwich for the Dream/Sapphire. Yes, you read that right. Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. We currently have cm9 and AOKP mostly working. AOSP is next
What works:
It boots
Touchscreen
Wifi
Mobile data
Audio
sdcard
Bluetooth (maybe. It turns on. I don't have devices to test with)
What doesn't:
Camera
Hardware acceleration
probably everything else, tell us
info:
Android 4.0.4

possible fix for camera:

flashing instructions:
you need to use custom mtd. I used 140 for /system and 20 for /cache (rom currently requires a /cache partitoin. will be fixed in a later update)
1. download all needed files and place them on your sdcard. mtdpartmap.txt needs to be at the root of it
2. flash recovery patch.
3. wipe system, data, and cache
4. reboot into recovery.
5. flash rom and kernel
6. Flash gapps if desired
7. flash boot patch
8. reboot into rom
9. wait.
10. enjoy the awesome
To use data, you need to put in your apn settings. Google to find these.
Thanks to:

Aokp team - aokp
Ezterry and AndDiSa - kernel for ics

Roadmap:
Slim down (in progress)
Mess with hw acceleration and camera (maybe never) - this will be alpha3/beta1 if it happens
Port AOSP
Changelog:
Alpha2.2: update to latest code. good cm9 release.
Alpha2.1: not released
Alpha2: fixed audio
Alpha1.1: small fixes (keyboard, other stuff) cm9 only bugfix release
Alpha1: fixed wifi, sdcard, and home button (skiped in aokp)
Alpha0: initial public release.
If you want to build yourself (please do, we need more people fixing stuff), the repo init command will look like this:
Code:
$ repo init -u https://github.com/UnitedDev/android.git -b ics
Note: rules on using this rom for other projects
Most of android is under the apache2 license. just don't violate that and we're good.
more specific rules: source is on my github, do whatever you want within the terms of the licences. make your own rom, use it to port other devices, release a rom that is exactly the same with a new name and a shiny theme, I don't care as long as you are building from source.
If you use prebuilt anything from releases of this rom, please be nice and send me a pm asking for permission. this is supposed to be an open community, but i hate seeing 20+ cm7 roms with nothing different except name and bundled apps. If you don't ask, and you havent made something different enough from this rom to be worth having its own thread, it may or may not get reported.
First

thanks !

Can anyone confirm the status of wifi and data? I'd test wifi, but I can't find my girlfriend's phone and she is asleep...
I don't want to put water into the wine, but ... The status of the ROM is more or less in the same state as I had my ICS some month ago. (@Tvall: you should have a look at my repo, if you didn't do that already.) Wifi / Bluetooth should work without problems, at least at that time I had it working. The biggest problem (and the most important reason why I suspended the wok on it): to low memory on the G1. Startup of services from time to time failed even without any additionals apps installed.
Probably on the MyTouch it will run better, but I do not expect, that it will run decently on the G1, but I might be wrong ...

It runs decently (apps dont close much) on my mytouch, which is why I'm working on it. My plan is to get cm9 stable enough, then work on an aosp rom. That should be a little lighter.
Has anybody gotten this to run on a g1 yet. I managed to install, but it went crazy. I started doing a force close loop. By that i mean that it booted started then said trebuche has stopped working. I press ok then com.android.phone stopped working. i press ok then trebuche has stopped ... and so on. I followed the install to the letter a few times but i couldn't get it to run.
Nice work! Have you tried the EGL files from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526920 ? Hero has same gpu (adreno 130) as dream/sapphire so it *should* work Not sure about kernel however

Not yet, thanks for the link! If that works, I'll release another alpha as soon as I fix the home button..

I have a mytouch 3g 1.2. It has more ram. So... if it works for me it might or might not work on a regular 32b device
Oh my...now this is impressive. I'm really interested how this turns out. Best of luck!
I told you not to get me in that picture...
I can't wait to do more testing. (My boyfriend is amazing! He's currently working on getting the wifi to work)

[APP] Samsung Galaxy S II Toolkit Beta V2.4 *CMW, Root, and Roms all in one place*

NOTICE - Just wanted to let everyone know that the toolkit might not be updated for a while. Not because I am not working on it. But I am switching programming languages and improving a lot of aspects of the toolkit. Mostly because of the feedback I have gotten. I am going to be doing the toolkit in a way that will save you all a lot of hassle with installing and downloading, and the next major release will also auto update. I will however be doing bug fixes until the next release. I want to thank all of my followers and donors for the continuous feedback and support. I do this all for you.
Thanks,
Ajster1989

Here is what it can do so far:
- At start it checks to see if USB Drivers is installed, if it's not installed will download and installs Kies for you. (This insures that your USB Drivers are correctly installed)
- At start it checks for USB debugging connection to ADB
- Phone selection menu to chose which SGS II phone you have, and set's tool kit up for that phone.
- Only downloads the files for the phone you select (Currently only T989 and I727)
- Guides you through installing CWM
- Guides you through Rooting your device
- Guides you through Flashing a Custom ROM
- Guides you through Flashing back to STOCK (Auto downloads when needed)
- Reboots Recovery and Download
- Side Load APK's
- Keeps track of your current phone, last flashed recovery, last flashed rom.
Want a feature that I haven't added, request it in the comments or PM me and it might be added to my next release.
Features to come in next release:
- I will be adding support for ROMs to be flashed through ODIN.
- I will be looking into adding a menu of different ROMs to download
- I will be adding Super.Wipe Script, will be pushed with all ROMs. (Waiting for Dev Permission)
- I will be adding also the counter reset script as an option.
Please let me know of any bugs.
Known Bug's so far:
-none (let's find some)
The more feedback I get the quicker I will have a better version, will be adding support for the rest of the family of SGS II's too.
Download from my website at the link below...

wish this was around when i first got my skyrocket.
Excellent idea of a program .. however, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit .. utility does NOT run !!!
Application shows up in the Task Manager / Processes as SGSIIToolKitV2.4.exe *32 .. but nothing shows on the screen !!
*** EDIT .. stand corrected .. MUST RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR in order for it to work.
Run as admin if you have problems, if you launch it from the Icon it puts on the desktop it should default to admin

Which option should Rogers customers with 727R use? The AT&T option, or Other?

You may try disabling anti-virus before installing drivers and see if that helps.

Hi All,
While we are all in the wait for Android 4.2..."Try, Different"
I have ported Meizu FlyMe OS 1.0.5 to MS2 based on latest CM9 (Android 4.0.4) by sfc3001
NOTE: Rom uses CH GB kernel. Have not tried working on EU GB kernel yet
Credit and Thanks :
sfc3001 - huge thanks for his CM9 rom
GalaxyUser - for his rom.
emwno - for his help and support
Lens_flare - for his guide
Necrosan for being the first one to port this rom from Meizu.
p0isonra1n - for his help, support and testing that he's done and doing.
Installation for noobs
0. Download The ROM (Mirror) and put it into root of your SD card
1. Boot into recovery
2. Nandroid backup incase you don't like it or in case it backfires at you
3. Full wipe data and cache
4. Wipe dalvik cache
5. Flash rom
6. Wipe cache and Dalvik
7. Reboot and Enjoy
Please, don't be too judgemental and any help to improve this rom is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
TIPS
Code:
- Disable keylight
Navigate to Settings > Display and bring the light dots on the bottom to 0 (all grey)
- Recent apps
Like normal ICS, you can't access recent apps menu from holding home key, but menu key instead
- Screenshot
Hold power + home button
- Using SMS in horizontal mode
SMS app > Settings > Turn on "Allows horizontal screen"
BUGS
Code:
1 - USB/SD card access - seem to be fixed by choosing Boot [2nd init + adb] from Bootmenu but resets once the cable is unplugged and USB symbol stays on status bar
2 - Mobile data network- I am getting very poor mobile connectivity and none for most of the times but phone functions work normally.
3 - Occasional com.android.phone error - Doesn't effect phone functionality but does make the phone go nuts for a second or two
4 - Settings/Netwrok -> give com.android.phone stopped - Known issue for all FlyMe OS roms
5 - Volume rocker on native/stock music player
6 - Auto rotation on some apps
7 - HW/SW inconsistency

Its Nice and Clean but have lot's of FC's appearing @ the background for less than a second and disappears.
as well as Network menu is impossible to enter. Couldn't set APN's. and if u dont have wifi or hotspot around you, u fcked
I like the ROM but back to CM10.
looks promising, still waiting for a further update
I'm working on fixing the issues but haven't made any progress yet, will release, once I fix at least one of the issues.
Today Meizu released FlyMe OS 2.0.2 based on JB (downloading)...so expect JB port real soon.
the room is fantastic in my point of view, though the most annoying bug is with the touch function keys ( menu, home, back and search).
Can't wait for the next realease ! thnks

Nope.
General rule: Wanna do something more awesome than playing silly games in your droid? You need root.
thank you
it is so beautiful.I LIKE IT
thanks again.
Hi,
A lot of people have been asking me about FlyMe OS JB version these days. Although I would really like to port it to our milestone 2, the truth is that I really hadn't had much time to work on it since I had my little baby girl, she's one now and is running around the apartment, so most of my spare time I am spending playing with her.
And I do not have the opportunity to do porting at work, since this is my hobby and it doesn't pay any bills, also a personal integrity issue comes up.
As you may know, porting a rom is one thing, which is not that hard, but it's testing and troubleshooting that takes a lot of time and makes your phone become unavailable, which I can't afford given the circumstances.
So here is the part where I reach out for your help, if you have any porting/testing experience, especially in logcatting during bootloops for Milestone 2, using ADB (push/pull), may need RSD Lite too and you're willing to contribute your time and phone up time for this, please, contact me.
Since FlyMe OS is not as popular as MIUI and it's community range is narrow, there is not much porting guide or experience sharing or lessons learned that could make this any easier.
Well, that is it. The rest is up to you, guys. Thanks
P.S. One kind request, though, if you're not sure about your technical abilities, please, do not overestimate yourself. Since the last thing we want to do, is put aside rom porting and try to bring your phone to live.
