Hey Guys
I Got a question about the new roms.
Why does the camera not work good if i switch from 480p to 720p (HD).
i see a green screen flickering when i turn it to 720p... And when i play the video's it's still worse...
Have seen this problems on Sense 3.6 ICE DS, Sense 4.0 roms....
The Desire s does officialy support hd right?
Somebody any idea's?

Yes! You need to work with the Stock Kernel 3.0.16.... then everything should work great!

Yeah, not sure if 720p has been enable in the camera app though, Ill work on that and more, tomorrow

Um... hard to tell, but no massive drain issues.
Hey rom looks great, downloading the theme now. However noticed I get FC when I try to use the video option on the camera app, also there are no APN's.
Tried theme out its awesome. Slight bug on the notification bar flickering, also app drawer is a bit laggy. But I'm sure these problems will be resolved in time. Good Work

I am new to all of this but managed to successfully flashed the superlite-5.1 rom to my Rogers Galaxy S2. Big thank you to mhx (I tried donating but your paypal wouldn't accept because in not in the US)
The Rom is working fine but there are a couple of features that it doesn't contain that interest me.
1. The camera app - Is it possible to have the same camera that's available on the stock ICS (with the live video effects...)
2. Can I flash romracers kernal with this rom? I only want to do this for bln support. Is there another way I can get bln?
Sorry if my question sounds dumb, I have spent the last couple days reading through the forum trying to educate myself with the android dev.

No not until we get kernel source, no bln
AOSP camera is available, check the aosp apps thread, and as xcrazy said, no bln til we get source. And yes u can of course use romracer kernel with mhx, i thought that was the default one anyway. If its not mhx is using mohan_kr's, which for your purposes is identical, no real point in switching

pretty sure he is talking about romracers gb kernel, which would not work with ics.
romracers unsecure ics kernel is fine to flash, but if hes using superlite, he is already using that kernel.

It flashed fine but the camera is still the same. Are the video effects that the nexus have got not available for S2 roms yet?

That's just an ICS themed camera. You can try Camera ICS+ on play store. Still needs work though but it does have the video effects.

Sometimes it worked, sometimes it crashed. You can send them an email, the dev is responsive. I'll do the same and maybe he'll fix it. He's trying to make it compatible with most phones.

I have been using CM9 on my sensation for a while now and I like it very much
But I don't really like the camera interface... So here is the MIUI Camera V17 for the sensation which can be used on android 4.0 and you can just install it as an normal application.
I thought you might want to have it as well.
This is not my application and not my work! All the credits go to the MIUI team
Maybe someone can check if there is a newer version available from the current miui roms?

I think the app might have some problems with sense roms.. maybe because it's a totally different framework..
It should work normally on vanilla ics roms.. like mine

Well, in an MIUI 4 rom of course. However, no idea. Not much an interest to find it either - I don't care for MIUI.

Don't think you have to install it as an apk! You have to push it through the system

I don't really care about the MIUI roms either.. but I do care about their camera..
Do you know how you can extract a certain apk from a rom?
I have tried to extract the camera application from the new MIUI Pyramid roms... but unfortunately they have been using the framework from sense and therefore is the camera not working on vanilla android
Pardon me if i'm posting this in the wrong section.
I flashed the JellyTime AOKP v7 Saga rom (which apparently fixes video recording)
i cant seem to even get the camera working let alone the 720p recording . There's no preview in camera, just a black screen . it prompts me to tap the screen to focus . hangs for a few seconds and then says "gallery is not responding" then force closes.
can someone help me out here.

I tried everything from wiping dalvik cache and formatting all the partitons except the sd card ,even clearing the gallery app data. still no success. however i'm using Codename Android Saga v3.5.0 (by blind n dumb) and the camera works fine . Still no video recording though.

yeah it worked for me on blindbean 1.6 and Codename Android Saga roms . However no success with the jellytime rom .

Hi, does anyone know how to fix the blue flickering while capturing on 720p and also while watching the captured 720p video.

Roms that i tried: Fallout, Desire XS, ViperSAGA
i am using now vipersaga v1.1.0.
No problems with it
I think its because of the tweaked kernel in custom roms is not stable....
vipersage v1.1.0 has got a stock kernel 3.0.16 and it handles fine with 720p.
And also go to recovery menu to fix permissions (helped for me)

When i tried to flash the latest XI kernel there no flickerings anymore.
I will test if this is the real solution.

3th post! and it is pretty fast with the stock kernel and stock everything.
Edit: ICE DS 5.2 haven't got any 720p flickering problem (Try it )
Stock kernel of viper have blue flickerings. I'll try to flash latest XI kernel.
EDIT: i dont flash the XI kernel. I just use FIX PERMISSIONS on my recovery. Because fix permissions on venom tweaks dont work.

Yep i don't recommend it.... 720p still gives blue flickering....
and its very laggy and slow

i think it is faster as 6.5 it feels very comfortable and i haven't spot a bug!
Just try it out!
After few hours after i use FIX PERMISSIONS. The blue flickering appears again.
I'll try to flash the XI Kernel.
Hope it will work.

That new kernel has so much bug and lag in my experience
Which kernel is recommended then?? Im also facing the same problem..

I've tried ICE DS 5.2 but i've found the same 720p blue flickering, even after fixing permissions in recovery.
I'm going back to 6.5
Im now using stock rooted rom. And im selling my DS becase of this bug.
Is this bug known to everyone??
Strange thing is that this problem happens only while using sense ics rom.I was using miui(jb) some days before but everything was fine with 720p videos watching/recording...
