If you want to return your device to stock (S-ON included) I think there is an option for that in the AAHK.
If you only want to unroot your device you could run a official RUU from at&t.

Wrong section...question are to be made in the Q&A forum and not dev...
If you just want to remove root, then go to superuser and use the unroot option under menu>setup

Hi all, I am new to Android and HTC phones, in advance I know that my question can not have any sense. Today i have rooted my Z 1.82 with method described in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905261
After it I have rooted 1.34 and i have also two questions:
1) is it possible now to upgrade to 1.82 and keep root,s-off,supercid? Or which Rom you advice and where i could some interesting ones?
2) referring to method i have used to root what method you suggest to undo all? Can i get somwhere a ROM for unbranded 1.82? My CID was HTC_032 if it is useful info for you.
Thanks

Hi,
If you get a custom ROM which uses the 1.82 base you will be able to keep root, SuperCID and S-OFF. The ROM that I am using (link in my sig) is Virtuous ROM which is based off the 1.85 release. Really great if you want the latest build with Sense.
You can use the same method (i believe) to Unroot, SIM-Lock and S-On.
Regards.
Ok ,thanks. Actually now I am using virtuous 1.0.1 as you, but my problem is that I didn't make any backup for my stock one before rooting. Now I would like to now how to back to the status from before rooting. My telcom provider is Era so I need stock Rom branded by Era :/

I think yes I ve used it to downgrade from 1.82 to 1.34 to get permroot. It is pretty well described in one of the sticked guides, and actually in my first post you can find the link.

This is the "Accessories" subforum.
As already mentioned, if you want a more recent Sense build, flash Virtuous. Its based on 1.85, and has some added features, but really not that modified. Much easier than messing with the newer official ROMs (which are not presently rootable).

To root 1.82 you must downgrade.
Safest and best way is the goldcard way
I had 1.82 unrooted desire Z
i used the goldcard way.
this link brings you to the topic.
Once you reach the third part.
you have to do following first
Start command promt.
Browse the command to you ADB folder
enter: ADB Shell Chmod 777 /data
Now you are able to pull the misc file from you phone.
This is normally only available at rooted.
now i run Cyanogenmod v7 =)
Kind regards
Resurrecting a 2-month old thread, posted in the completely wrong subforum, was probably a bit pointless.
Just saying.
Does anyone know of an app to root the sensation with version 2.3.4? I just got this phone and I havent been able to find anything yet.

Can't find anything, huh?! Did you try looking in the development section? There are no one click apps for the sensation. I suggest you read the stickied threads at the top of the development forum. Long and short there is no permanent root without s-off, only temp root.
Go to the dev area like the guy said, read through the one sticky....you should be then be able to do the whole shooting match...mine runs cm7. Definately the best phone I've had yet

Read the wiki and directions carefully. There are threads here for step by step directions. Just search for them.

Read read read read read before u try anything. Just fyi. Learn about what you doing and what it does to your phone. Learn how to recover and backup. Jumping into this game isn't easy. And could brick your phone. But for starters you need to check here revolutionary.io to unlock, root, and install recovery. Also get S-OFF aka security off. Aka locked boot loader.

As RANDYRKELLY says: First thing is to read carefully, understand and learn. Search this forum for everything about rooting, s-off and flushing ROMS. There are great step-by-step how-to's in here, so that there's no need to explain it once more in a separate thread.
You should start here for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
Yes, it is said to read well and understand that you want to do and unlock the boot with better revolutionary than http://htcdev.com/, good luck

Do not use the htc unlock. Will not give you read write state. U need to use revolutionary cause it roots, unlock boot loader, and installs recovery. Please don't miss lead him.

I said that after http://htcdev.com/ will not be able to flash custom kernel, and unlock a better revolutionary
your best bet is to stick to xda it has everything you need to root and flash whatever you want there are alot of threads that will explain what root off is and how to get it. it will aslo explain how to flash roms, and what that is good luck you can always post here in the q&a with any problems you have
thanks randy & kaym....
anyways its S-off...

Actually, your the one misleading people, revolutionary doesnt actually root a phone, it just gives an unlocked bootloader. Installing superuser from market is what gives apps root and a line in the build.prop file gives the user root permissions

You cannot search, you cannot root, in fact this phone cannot even make calls.Return your phone and exchange for an iPhone. Then go to iPhone forums and post many threads asking how to jailbreak. Thank you.

Great .pdf file.... First thing it says is "VERY IMPORTANT: Your device MUST already be rooted before you can continue with any of these instructions and/or procedures."
I guess there isnt a root for 1.94 according to that forum post.
Guess im SOL!
Or am I? lol
Unlock the bootloader on htc dev then push a recovery. Then install root via recovery. Done

I think the one-click root method works for that one. Give it a try.
