Ok so ive had cm10 for awhile now and im currently on the latest nightly.
My phone seems to repeat a strange noise which i think has something to do with the gyroscope.
Has anyone else had this problem.
ive had it for the last few nighties and i have no idea how to fix it.
What is the sound, is it like from a reccord noise or something similar

My phone seems to be shy. The volume on notifications and rings is so quiet as to not disturb an ants slumber.
I have cranked the sliders that (supposedly control) this setting within the sound menu all the way to the top. At that level the sound is about 1/4 of what it used to be.
Does anyone have any idea what I may have done? I am using infused 1.5.3 with the default kernel and modem. Perhaps the speaker has gone to pot...but I wonder if there is some software solutions I might try.
Thanks for your consideration.
Hmm... Could be that your speaker decided to randomly go out... Never had that happened before, so I don't know what to say. :/

You could try flashing to stock and see if the problem persists. If it does, your speaker may have blown or something. Haven't seen anyone else report an issue like this.

The problem seems to stem from something in the VooDoo controls. If I chug the analog gain thingy all the way up...it works as expected.
IDK why. I know VooDoo is only supposed to affect headphone usage. Three trials can't be wrong though. (or maybe they can...either way its persistent)
Hello guys,
Just recently, my speaker option stopped working and I am not sure how it happened. I've been on barebones for a couple months now and I was curious if it was just the rom, so I flashed cm9 and slimics, but still no luck. Any suggestions how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

When you say speaker option, do you mean putting it on speaker during a phone call? Do you hear sound out of your external speaker when you play music or do anything else besides phone calls?
I would suggest going back completely to stock using the GB one-click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498. Or, maybe even giving the gremlin remover a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427&highlight=gremlin
If you don't get sound going on a completely stock ROM, you probably have a hardware issue. Has the phone been dropped or has anything been spilled on it?
Yes, your right, the speaker option won't work during a phone call. When it is at max volume its just a scratchy sound from the person when they talk. I think your suggestion may be the best way to go as far as trying to get my speaker to work again. Thanks.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software issue.
When listening with my headphones to music, youtube...etc.. it randomly makes weird buzzing sounds (kinda like when you connect to the internet through dialup back in the old days). This sound happens randomly for example, if I hear it in a song and i rewind it to the same position it will not happen..but it might happen somewhere else in the song.
I know this is a Kernel issue because on Stock Kernel this doesn't happen. However when I flash to any other Kernel this starts to happen. (I've tried Bricked, Franco, Faux, Linaro Kernel and they all have this sound problem. I haven't seen anyone else report on this issue which is why I'm suspecting it is a hardware issue. Anyone have any idea or input on what I can do? I really don't want to stay on stock Kernel since I've seen huge improvements on battery life using custom kernels. Thanks.

Hi Bobokun,
If its the same noise that I get (I posted on google product forum for nexus about it. Tried to put link here, but as I only just joined to answer this, it won't let me. The title of my post was "Nexus 5 has interference sounds when using headphones"), it happens on stock phone for me.
I've not got any further in bottoming out whether it is hardware or software (though not done too much digging other than the above link).
Cheers
James
This happened to me once or twice when I first tried out my headphones. However the last few times that I've used the headphones it has stopped.

It happens several times during my work day, but I'm in a poor TMobile signal area in the UK and i think it is trying to keep its signal.
I haven't found any solution yet, anybody? I'm just wondering how only a few people found this issue.
It becomes complete annoyance.

What about baseband? Could any of the kernels you flashed have changed the radio?

I have a similar experience when using bluetooth and playing The Infinite Black (game) when I touch a sector it makes a weird buzzing sound. Rooted, stock, with Franco Kernel.

Hi guys. I searched threads but I couldnt find an exact solution.
I noticed " pop and sizzling" when speaker in use. Did you notice that ? Not key pressing , not touching, only when speaker gets in use like playing music playing video, typing etc.(even in mute) I know a little sizzle is OK but this is to much and easy to notice.
I am sure this is not a H/W issue because i am used my O3D for about 2 years with Froyo and GB and there wasn't any pops and sizzles to notice. But I flashed ICS and there it is. Re-flashed to GB and no pops. I am on ICS now... It may accur by kernel or setting of levels/gain etc.. My opinion is , setting up these settings may fix my problem. So if someone helps me a little about it (sounds settings-test menu-gain whatever it is) I will be happy..
Also i will try stock GB sound levels on ICS if i can find values.
Sincerely.

Yes I had this problem. Especially it was annoying when I was using it during the night. Short buzzing sounds, sometimes stopped and sometimes started again. Mine's on ICS also.

Thank for answer. I have another question. I had poor touchscreen experience with v30a . Otherwise v21e is always perfect with that. Im on v21e because of that. Have you ever had that issue? If so , did you solve it?

Sorry I can't help you with that, always been on v21(don't remember the letter) and had no problems with touchscreen.
Anyone know waht is causing the volume level to go WAY down after I place, or receive a phone call. I love the phone very much but this is driving me crazy! I'm on T-Mobile which is working fine. I have to use the Digits app at home to make calls. But no mater if I use Digits or not, if I make or receive a call the loudness of anything on the phone basically goes away. System sounds, YouTube, Iheart radio.... Anything that uses the speakers looses all volume. I have to reboot to get it back. Pretty annoying
I am facing the same problem. It just started to happen this week.
Clearly it's boring! if your device is rooted with magisk try viper4android it's magic, believe me !
Im having a similar problem and started to notice it few days ago, mainly because I am 85% of the time using the phone on vibration only.
I don't know exactly what OP means with "goes away", if this means that the volume is low (ringing or playing music) but the controls are still to the top, then yes I'm facing it too, but, what is really strange is that for me, just the top speaker have sound, while the bottom speaker is really low.
I managed to figure out that if I cover the top speaker with my finger without "pressure" or trying to squash it, the bottom speaker start "working" again. Im lost with this situation.
Sounds like a messed up mixer math or possibly audio mod that is messing it up

Could be a botched firmware. Be my guess. Iv flashed many roms and official firmware and never had this issue. Have you tried flash tool or the new flasher?
