I have deleted many unwanted apps off my phone and only have about 30 apps downloaded, and every time a app wants to update i get "insufficient storage space", does anyone else have this problem? And is there a way to fix this?

Hmm....there are several ways of taking care of that problem.
Apps2sd,move apps to SD with titainium back up pro,and so and so on.
I have never had this problem but then again....I don't have a use for so many apps lol.
I have the same issue sometimes. The only thing that works for me is to uninstall the app that has an update and reinstall it.

Yeah titanium pro is the way to go. Move all non-essential apps to sd card and integrate dalvik into rom. That will odex your rom so it will boot faster too.

In short, most Apps downloaded from either Amazon Market or Android Market won't stay on my home screens, but still show in my app screens. I am running a rooted stock 2.2 kernel.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue, and if there was a way to fix it without having to restore my phone.
Problems with Apps staying on Home Screens
I have had the same problems with 2.2 but only with apps that are moved to the SD card. Whenever I reboot the phone, the apps on the SD card are gone from my home screen.

restore your app back to your phone memory from external sd so it will not disappear once rebooting your phone that's one downside of stock froyo rom.
happens to me occasionally with apps stored on internal mem. i dont use sd for apps... angrybirds is the biggest culprit
All my apps are on phone mem, and yeah, main prob is angry birds. Ha, nice to know i'm not the only one with this issue.

Same here on stock 2.2. I tried Fast Reboot market app for relaunching TouchWiz, also master cleared data. No joy. Samsung never answered my support email, but what worked was Go Launcher EX, a great alternative to TW.
Strangest thing though... after clearing Market app's data and rebooting to resynch the My Apps section of Market I saw my sim card glitch (slashed circle, no bars) and after reseating/rebooting I was left with phone plus unusable external SD. One new sim, new Cappy (my 4th) and new SD card later, needless to say Apps2SD nevermore!

I think angrybirds defualts to the SD card. Hence angrybirds, and other SD apps dissapearing like the op stated.

This is always a problem for me. I was on Bali, gbtheme. The TTB screenshot shows only 5mb available.

Well then delete some things to get more memory, problem solved

Sorry for not specific. What can i remove from rom. I was able to upload the screenshot this time pl. take a look

go to settings, applications, manage applications, then just remove applications or move them to the sd card and you will get more memory, hope this helps
I have plenty of space in internal memory 160mb.
Internal ROM: 291 - 4.9mb free
Internal memory:162mb free
External:4gb free
It was not an issue with that. When i try to over write modded files this is happening. ex:applying original boot animation. I survived from couple of softbrics due to this. Looks like ROM is already maxed out. How do I over come this?
Rom's are Samsung apps and/or internal programs that you must know which to remove. Use titanium back (if your rooted) to remove some bloat like allshare, slacker, double twist, etc. To be more technical you will have to change your kernel/rom to a different version that is lighter but for now all we got is
kb5(not what I would use)
kd1 (people like this one for good reasons)
kd1 (this is with the app2sd update and is the most recent)
Hope this helps

I was playing dragon, fly! When all of a sudden i got a message saying i had low memory and that the game may crash or restart. What can i do to improve my memory??

I've never experienced a low memory error like that as Android will manage your RAM for you automatically killing off unneeded background apps when memory is needed. You sure this wasn't an ad of some sort?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
Make sure that app data isn't being stored on internal memory. Also try clearing Cache and reboot.
It was not an ad. It was a legit htc thing. I clear my cache once every 2 hours really. Reboot my phone around that time also. How do i have app date save stuff to somewhere else?

If all you want to is move your apps, you can go into Menu-Settings-Applications-Manage applications-downloaded. Then just hit the Move to SD button, if it's not greyed out. You can also use Titanium Backup to move apps. It's free on the Market. Open TB, then go Backup/Restore-long press on app you want to move-wait for pop up-choose Move to SD card. Once your all done just back out of TB. Sence will reload. I like to reboot if I move a bunch of apps. But it's not necessary.

Hey I'm currently using a HTC HD2 with Android 2.2 and having issues with storage.
I remember when I first received this phone, I downloaded multiple apps/games and there was enough space for all of them. However after few months of use I was hit with the "Low On Space" notification. So I deleted apps that I wasn't using and fewed a few on SD card. A few more months now and I realise I have no games on my phone and every app that I need is on SD card, yet I'm still given the "Low On Space." Could anyone explain what is happening?
I've read a few other posts and googled but I'm so confused in what they mean. Some suggest moving caches and others tell me to try another ROM. Absolutely no clue what they mean :S
Thanks.
First of all, wipe all caches. Do this by downloading any cache cleaner application and using its primary function.
Also, I once got an extra 30mb of space by using root explorer, going into /data/ and looking around for useless files and deleting them

Hey thx for the reply, I downloaded app cache cleaner and cleared about 11mb which is very helpful. Also I use OI file manager and browsed into data, but nothing is there (or perhaps its hidden not sure). Thx for the tip thou
No problem
Another tip is to delete your browser history (if you don't really care about it), for me it takes up a lot of space
Deleting old sms and mms messages, clearing call log help as well.

Link2SD
If you have root, you can moove every app on SD-card. Download Link2SD, create 2nd partition on SD (i have 300MB FAT32) card and enjoy the space. Evenif you change rom, you can link apps what you have on SD
Today I got a notification from the market telling me insufficient storage space installing an update to adobe air.
I opened lucky patcher and tried removing fixes and backups. This did not correct the problem as it has in the past.
What else can I do? Open up the phone and install bigger memory chips? Lol

You could move some apps to your sdcard or uninstall unused ones. Your internal storage (1gb) is probably a bit full.

You can check how much more internal memory you actually have by going to settings>apps>manage apps. If you go to the "on sd card" tab, it lists all apps that can be installed to SD. Ones with a checkmark next to them denote that they're already on the SD. To move one, tap on it and press "move to USB storage". If the button says "move to phone" it's installed to SD. Be wary about phone crashes, even in the best case scenario Titanium will attempt to install them to the internal memory, making it full once more. Worst case scenario, you lose everything due to weird symlinks (pretty sure that's what it is) between internal and SD storage. Both have happened to me.

I checked and had 590mb free. Just to be on the safe.side, I moved a few apps to the storage card.

I've had this happen a lot. Someone suggested in the tweaked thread I odin back to stock and start over. It seemed to had been attributed to ext4 to rfs conversion which i've never done. It's my only phone and I'm very busy so I haven't got around to it. Anytime I get to around 100 ~ 120 mbs left it gives me this notification, won't let me install even the smallest of apps, and gmail stops syncing. My phone seems to imply I have 1.2 gb of storage so maybe that's the problem?
All I've ever done is been on tweaked 3.1, then 3.2 ..recently flashed 1214 kernel. Complete wipes both times, no dirty flashes
I hate to revive an older thread but i cant get past the insufficent storage problem. I moved apps to usb storage freeing up over 500mb. When that failed, i tried lucky patcher. Any other suggestions?
it seems the only way to update some apps is to delete and reinstall... Some i just dont update anymore.
