WIFI work perfectly, it seems like the Rom it self doesn't read sim card ? i try to flash ThiaiZO3DV2.8BetaGB , it doesn't have Wife no network for phone . Anyway Just help me if anyone can, i know i messed up pretty bad.

If you had READ the CM10 you would have seen you need to Change Baseband to V21D and update to the latest Nightly

Your phone was 2.2 (froyo) or 2.3.5 (gingerbread) ?
If it was froyo you must update it officially to gingerbread (to update the baseband) and then flash thiaiz ROM .
But if you want CM10 you must flash a certain baseband as "defcomg" said . which it is v21d . Flash it with "lg smartflash" it is the easiest way .

My phone was 2.2.2 you may call it (froyo) since i got my phone i never updated to any other version , i was with 2.2.2.
Can you please give me a link for official Gingerbread? the CM10 is very buggy i think i mean it drain my batter pretty fast and it doesn't have the 3D space anymore. Please send me the link for Gingerbread so i could flash mine, Thank you for helping me !

Try to update to 2012 Baseband

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to update to the new baseband but everytime I run the fix my phone still says I have the july 2011 baseband. I am running Hellfire 1.8 and I tried to do it the way it says by flashing ROM, FIX, then GAPPS. but to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

So I would need to go back to a stock ROM, update baseband, THEN go back to HFS 1.8 for it to go through?

I just got finished doing this, WOW the GPS has a fast lock now. Make sure that you flash the BB FIX after you restore you HFP
Guys I cant install the lg update tool. gets stuck around 10% then just stops. Im already having issues and I havent even gotten to the phone part lol help? tried rebooting laptop, running w7 64bit T420 8g RAM. I dont think its my laptop..
UPDATE: added screenshot of where setup gets stuck.
follow this thread. works like a charm. make a backup of your device first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644
the steps in this thread will restore a stock gingerbread rom. when that is done, use nvflash and put the stock recovery back on as well
reboot your phone and do the update that way (over the air). look in About Phone under system settings and you will see a menu item at the top called software update (or something similar). use that to update your phone, you will end up with GB 2.3.4 and the new baseband
if you want to use a custom rom, eaglesblood build 4 has support for the new baseband built in or you can use CM7 RC3 or a currently nightly, or you can use either kwes or buru's roms, OR owain has a bb update zip that is supposed to work on any rom
good luck!
Sorry it just turned out that it was my jobs firewall that didn't allow the install to talk to the Lg servers. I got home and it worked so I now am running HFS 1.8 with the new baseband. Thanks for everyone's help on this.

how is your BT and call quality? those are issues on all but the stock 2.3.4 that comes with the new baseband (and the tweaked roms based off it)

The only thing I've tried through BT is tethering, as I dont use a BT headset, which works great. Call quality is clearer but not a huge difference. Data drops less often now though.
Update for new baseband here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674901
As far as Bluetooth goes:

Bluetooth not working during calls is a confirmed problem with recent CM7 builds. Star this issue so it gets more attention, no guarantee it'll be fixed though.

Try and get as many people to star that so perhaps the developers won't keep telling us it's "Hit or miss" and not a big issue.
I've had no luck with Bluetooth on new baseband but it works great on the stock 2.3.4 ROM from LG. Loaded with tons of bloatware to slow your phone down again.

i starred it and hope it gets fixed one way or the other and i agree, the new stock 2.3.4 works great and getting rid of bloat shouldn't be a problem however, just yesterday and today while running 2.3.4 my phone would just start getting really hot doing nothing but sitting in the holster, screen off, 4g off, BT off, wifi off, dont understand, but i put cm7 june 10 build on and now it doesnt do that
Yeah, I can run custom ROMs and all is well other than Bluetooth for call audio. My problem is I drive all day and have to use Bluetooth, so I'm stuck on stock
Hopefully it will get fixed.

Rooting questions

Hi all, I'm a new P920 user, although I've been using a P500 for ~ 2 years.
So here's my questions: I'm using V20c (23/2/2012), 2.3.5, baseband L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00, kernel 2.6.35.7, NOT rooted.
I'm planning to update my rom to V21e with ROOT for everyday use.
I already have the .kdz for V21e (Italia version, downloaded from http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP920/AITAML/V21e_00/V21E_00.kdz)
I also have the megatron folder, the kdz folder with B2CAppSetup,...
So can V21E be rooted now, using megatron? Or is there any other method? If it can be rooted, then what are the steps that I should follow:
_ Root my v20c first then kdz the v21e so the root may remain?
_ Or, kdz to v21e first then try to root it?
Will kdz to V21E grants me the V21E baseband (to flash custom ROMs like prometheus), or I will have to upgrade that first?
Also, is there any drawback in v21e? Like less battery life and such? Is GhostCall completely fixed? Thanks in advance.
You can root 21e with megatron.
After updating to v21e you can root and install any rim that is based on v21e like promethius rom.
Buttery life is good for me and I don't have any ghost calls. Hope didn't forget anything

First flash to v21e then root with megatron
LE because I was in a hurry back then:
Well I don't know how really works the kdz thing, never used it, never interested cause mostly, for upgrading and recovery I use the LG Update tool. In this way I managed to recover and update my phone when I made a wrong flash of a v21e rom on an older baseband - no network what so ever. So, I used the LG Update tool - Customer Support - Emergency and recovery mode and with the IMEI and/or serial number I've been able ro recover my phone and, in same time, update it to the newer v21e version.
i don't know how's your phone - mine is operator free, no network lock and I'm in Italy - where normally the updates for "free unlocked phone" comes earlier - at least I have this impression.
Ghost calls...none after the v21e. Battery life - I see no difference cause I'm not a constant user of something and I don't keep count of what and for how long I use. And depends on how you manage your phone. You might want to give a look to my thread of useful applications and contribute with something if you want. Click here

Thanks to you guys berni987654321 and BigBadSheep. I flashed v21e and then rooted it. No problem so far, except for the strangely low Quadrant (2000 and 2100, but I don't play heavy games anyway). Now I have one more question: now that I have v21e rooted and (kind of) stable, should I keep it like this or flash a custom kernel (I see there are 2 popular ones: BlueKernel and Promethius, which one is better?). Is there any change worth upgrading? Or I should just keep using it till ICS or JB?
I'm using promethius kernel 1.5 and I'm very happy with it. But super stock kernel by samno is very good too

Can I know why?
Also, some more questions:
_ Anyone tried the official CM7.2 for our P920? How is it: performance, battery, any serious bug, is 3D still normal,...?
_ What baseband is CM7.2 based on? I'm on v21e, so can I just simply flash it in CWM or is there any other steps I need to do first?
Thanks in advance.
With CMs no 3D

As far as I know and I've read there's no 3D with CMs ROM and derivates and further more no HDMI functional also. But I might be in error because I don't follow that ROM.

cm is in my opinion the fastest rom with the best performance but there is no 3d at all (you can only watch 3d videos made with the o3d) and hdmi is buggy. you can flash it on v21e without any problems

Thanks for the quick replies. So can I install 3D apps like the 3DVPlayer or 3D Photo,... to watch 3D clips and 3D photos that are already created (both by my phone and from other sources)? And I can still take normal 2D pictures and videos right? And since no baseband changing needed I just need to do a Nand backup first then flash CM7.2, if there's anything I don't like I can easily revert to this stable ROM I'm using right?
You can only watch 3D videos no photos. You don't need to change your baseband and with an backup you can easily return to the stable rom you're using now

Good News for SU760 Users

Good news for SU760.
I have successfully converted the P920 rom to work on my SU760.
Why I did this, since there is already an existing modified rom for SU760? I don't like the korean rom for su760, that's why i converted the rom for p920.
I have tested the XBSA ICS themed rom. It works perfectly, no bugs as of now. I know that this technique will also work with some other roms for p920.
I have to ask permissions first to all the devs for p920 roms if it's ok for them. I will also try to make an update zip for easy converting (hope it will work)
sorry for my bad english.
UPDATE:
I just converted and tested the Promethius Rom V1.5 20F for P920 guess what? IT WORKS.!
Now I'm on testing on other roms for P920.
Another rom works to my SU760.
After converting the Acura 3D Max Rom, it works on my phone just like normal.
On testing with another one.
yeah that great
How do you do it please give some details. When I install P920 roms I get Inernel Memory card mounts issues plus buttons messed up back button works as search. Both of these problems solved with Bluekernel.
But there is one big problem that is camera gets flipped upside down. Please if you have figured out a way to fix it tell us. I'll be really grateful.
Thanks
Great! Bless ya
Hey! Great news dude! So when r u sharing? we are waiting u know
Sorry for the late update of this thread. I have been so very busy on my work. I even forgot to upload the converted roms.
I will try my best to get extra time to upload the roms.
I found a little bug on Promethius Rom V1.5 20F. When I use the USSD Code in dialer, I get force close on com.android.phone and it will also restart the GSM Network. I have a problems looking for the error in logcat. Hope someone could help me diagnose the problem to make it perfect. Thou this is not a big issue for me. i will also test the ussd code on XBSA and on some other roms that I have converted.
About the Official ICS for SU760, I will try to test it on my phone. But first I have to secure an Official gingerbread firmware for SU760 for backup purposes. Hope I can convert SU760 ICS to be use for P920.
Official ICS has bootloader lock so no CWM and no backup.

what is your problem about SU760.? just try to search the whole forum about optimus 3d, im sure you will find answers to your problem. that's where I start, and I think almost all problems about software in optimus 3d has a fix.
And, Chickinican, if you are on Gingerbread (2.3.x) ROM, your best bet is Megatron block string attack. However, if you are on Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x) version, I would dig a bit more since this version is somewhat secure so different exploitation is necessary and required to give you root access.

ok i can do that but i do believe there are phones out in this world that run on V21e baseband and i think people did put custom roms and kernels that run with V21e baseband ....
i just don't want to go through the trouble of fixing the baseband and then re-flashing ..... i just don' t have that type of time
so if there is a custom rom/kernel out there for V21e baseband then please give me the link .
but if there isn't any then i will either leave it like this because i can still do everything including making calls and more with this baseband
or i will flash the old baseband fix

Lol your last sentece is all you have to do
Just simply find whichever ROM you want to flash to your phone, it doesn't matter which one because even if it is for the v21y baseband, Owains BB fix will make it compatible with the old baseband, the Kernel has nothing to do with baseband compatability.
If you have anymore questions just PM me and ill help you out

For V21e, the best ROM I have seen yet is Temasek's CM7.2 variant. No need for baseband fixes (it's based off the v21e), you might have to run GetRil to make sure the RIL matches the Baseband, but you'll be just fine. I'm using an older version of Temasek's ROM and loving it! (only reason why I haven't upgraded yet is because I'm lazy).
It's a final posting for the ROM (since my guess is he's waiting for the true ICS release to work on), but don't let that scare you. It's a COMPLETE GB2.3.7 ROM.

P920 Custom Rom Issues

Good day all I have a Problem that I can not resolve or I am doing something wrong. I had a Sony Play before and flashing Rom on it was a breeze, but i have got myself a lg Optimus 3D and seem to be difficult. When I am on a rooted gingerbread Rom with cwm touch installed everything is working. My Sim card is working and I have no random shutdowns. I have installed a couple of Roms on my phone and all have the same problem. What I have installed is the Walkman Rom, Miui v5 3.6.7 and Miui v5 3.3.29. All have the same problem . When I did is a factory reset, clear cache and install Rom everything works. When I load up the newly installed Rom I have random reboots and my Sim is not detected. About 5 minutes into using Rom it freezes for about 5 seconds then the screen turns black and to get it back on I have to do a battery pull. I have tried with ICS Rom but get boot loop. Can someone help me with this issue that I am have problems with. Thanks for you time.

OK thanks for the ics tutorial very helpful. But don't mean to sound like a newbie but how can i solve the problem with my installed custom Roms not working?? Or will this work to with customs jellybean Roms . Thanks again for you helpfulness and time.

For ICS based ROMs to work you first need to install ICS.That explains the bootloop. Normally you can't jump from GB to an ICS ROM. The guide shows you how to do that. Then you can choose XBSA ROM or whatever working one you like.
I have not used CM based ROMs, as 3D has not been made to work in these (there is no official LG JB for this phone yet). So, I am not sure about the install process for those.

There's no shame of being a newbie everyone was once a newbie before they become masters.
Well before I have installed jellybam v 7.8.0 which is a jellybean based Rom. Loved the options and worked fine, but after a day or two my internal storage became full and phone freezed up and unresponsive. Did research and found out that it was a bug. I installed that through official GB Rom. So I went back, then tried to install miui v5 and then walkman but they have the same shutdown and sim not detected issues. People with those Roms installed don't seem to have those issues. So you can see where I am confused. Thanks

I have read something about installing a different CM version but I am not sure what or how.
If you don't mind can you post a link for me. Because these issues are bothering me. Thank for your time.

Ok,ok,ok I think I have found the problem but don't know how to fix it... When I install the custom ROM my imei number is blank which is causing me phone to crash. When I revert back to stock ROM my imei number is back and my phone running without any problems.. Is there a fix for this, or did I need to do something with this before installing my custom ROM. (drastic00)- thanks for the link and sorry for the trouble. Thanks everybody that has helped me.

Well thanks everybody that had tried to help me but I have sold my p920 and got myself a HTC sensation. I did not like stock ROM on p920 and since custom firmware never worked then there was no use. Again thanks everybody.
