Gameloft - buy one get one free games (Verizon Play)

Hey, I didn't see a post about this.
I noticed that if you launch the stock browser, you are taken to Verizon's page, scroll down to Gameloft games, there should be a banner saying buy one get one free. It's somewhat limited, but there are some great games there. I got six for the price of three
Not sure if there is another way to access this besides Verizon's default page. Hope you enjoy!

going to get dungeon hunter 2 for sure what should my second game be shadow vanguard or modern combat 2?

Modern combat definatly, its amazing.

It took me about a week to notice this myself. Props for posting it though. I didn't think to. Got me 2 pairs!

If you mean the uk gameloft sites link its. http://wapshop.gameloft.com/wapshop-uk but the 99p sale has gone off. Now its "Fathers day sale, 1 game for you and 1 game for your dad" lol

[Q] R800x, Gameloft wapshop

Has anyone else with an R800x noticed that the wapshop.gameloft.com, Gameloft's in-phone purchasing site, now detects the specific R800x and lists the device as having no games available??
I had just visited the site, and later in the day I was checking again and suddenly it now shows "Sony Ericsson Xperia Play R800x"
"Sorry, there are no available games for your mobile."
If I click on the phone name I can select the Xperia Play from a list, and it gets me back to the Xperia Play store page, as would previously load, and I can even access my downloads again...
Just thought it was strange. I thought I'd give it a couple of days to see if they'd add games or fix the re-direct, but it doesn't seem to be changing at all.
Anyone else notice this? Anyone know what's going on with this? Is there some corporate behind-the-scenes Verizon Market vs. Gameloft Shop vs. Android Market exclusivity battles going on?
Not trying to be alarmist, but it's a weirdly sudden change. I'm using same browser and same bookmark I've always used.

Same happens for me. Noticed it a few days ago. I hate how the apps are in different stores. I also wish gameloft would release all their games in the android market. I bought 4 gameloft titles on my previous phone and now I'm going to have to re buy them which is stupid. I also bought a game from them like a week ago through the wap shop and never got a link to download it. I sent an email and haven't received one back. I'm getting kind of pissed at them.

thats why I download them on my computer. If you change what phone you are using and click on the my downloads button, it will give you a download link for any game you have bought on that computer but for the phone model you selected! I figured this out a while ago and havent had to rebuy a single game since. Even though I already had bought them all like 3 times at that point lol.

Yeah, I have the same problem. They're having a Club membership deal. 2 games $7/month, with two free games at the beginning. I'm going to try it out, see what happens.

i have 2 options here, i can go to wapshop.gameloft.com and it will show me all of the available "hd" games for the xperia play at 2.99 each, and if i go to the xperia play app and click on one of the games available for sale it will redirect me to my carrier's own gameloft shop which has them for the same price but in mexican pesos

Probably. If I'm on 3G, it takes me straight to verizon.gameloft.com or something like that and it says "no games available". If I use Wifi, I can actually see games.

I have the same problem. They advertize the Verizon app store underneath where it says they have nothing available. I'm really wondering if Verizon pays them to not allow us to buy games from them directly or some nonsense like that. I can find N.O.V.A. 2 in the Vcast app store but not in the Android Market even though the game WAS released to the market. I'm never ever going to buy from Verizon's app store... what if I change carriers?

I'm having the same issue, I was going to get NOVA2 but it's not available in the Android Market. I saw it was available on the website https://market.android.com/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftN2HM&feature=search_result , but it's "not compatible" with my phone.
There must be some confusion about the R800x on their end.

This issue is very concerning to me as well. I have been able to get around this issue buy selecting the phone explicitly on gameloft's site but its not streight forward. I like this phone a lot but I am worried if Verizon is trying some kind of lock down. In the end it will only hurt all parties if this is the case.

Agreed. I don't care if it serves me caviar on toast. I will not use a _CARRIER_ provided App shop. Unless it allows me to go download my apps/games/etc once I'm safely with another carrier. I guess I'll just buy over my wifi and then download it similarly. (which considering the size of some of these games, isn't a bad idea). Still, to yank the ability to buy games directly from the creators at reasonable prices instead of the carrier having to get their extra pound of flesh (or pound note, or US$2-3 in this case), it just screams greed and lock-down (based upon greed and insecurity).

N.O.V.A. 2 finally on marketplace for Xperia Play on Verizon!

See title. Perhaps more interestingly if you scroll down to Related apps you can click on and download Order and Chaos Online, which otherwise will not show up in the market for us.

NOVA 2 has been on my marketplace since the day I got the phone. It always showed up in the "More Games" list. I've had the phone for a few weeks.

it has, but that always linked you to gamelofts webpage site, EDIT: Just tried it and it takes you to the VCast store.....
the OP is saying NOVA 2 is now available in the trusty Android Market, although it is 6.99. I think it's cheaper directly from Gamelofts website. (Edit: it is)

Gameloft also has a buy one get one free offer going now. QUite annoying to have to pay 2 bucks more to get it from the markets or verizon. But I heard it won't show in the xPlay launcher if you don't buy it from there (also annoying).
I heard the reason their newer games aren't always in the market is because theres too many different versions for different phones.

From what I have heard you should be able to have several different versions within one market item, so it becomes optimized for each different phone installing it.
On other point, order and chaos does show up and even allows you to click on it, but it does not allow you to install it :S

I played it on the PSP. It was terrible..

Your link works in Canada too (over wifi). Bought them all at earlier promotions in the uk but 99 cents would beat our promotions. Wish they more games even so I have not played most of the already purchased.

Gameloft is pretty lame tbh.
I have bought my last titles from them forever.
They shamelessly rip off better games that you probably would have more fun playing the original on an emulator.
I was playing Sacred Odyssey thinking it was original... Had never played Zelda:Orcania of Time. Now i am playing it on N64oid and I am like "WTF Gameloft you cheap c%*$".

Promo is not available in my country also, it is still 2.99$.
Anyway some Gameloft games had an issue esp the controls in MC2 and splinter cell conviction..
I really wan't to play that splinter cell, but the i'm always having a hard time using the controls, the sensitivity is too fast when using the right touchpad and there's no option to decrease it..

Not to mention the bug riddled Backstab.
Really have lost faith in this developer.

Even at $5 I think the games are worth it

I agree %110 with previous poster. Gameloft's re-makes of some classic titles is pretty shameless. I give them credit for being one the first to bring these genres to android masses.
That said, Xperia play owners should expect to pay a lot less for gameloft titles than some of the better titles in the same genre. I just finished battlefield 2. That games was done really well. The developer had the time to make it right. The controls are so fluid...man is was great. In contrast, play black pegasus 2, and your rubbing the controls constantly. This seems to be there method of there control skeme. Even in splinter cell conviction, as much as I would like to continue trying to play it, I cant stand the controls. EA's games of much higher production quality imho. I have been playing dead space and once again intuative controls.
Graphically the games seem to be somewhat sub-par by comparison to some of the EA releases. I would not have paid for asphalt before nfs but I digress. So 99 cents ain't to shabby. Fair exchage is not a robbery, right.

Sometimes I'm thinking too not to buy again from this publisher, but still I continue buying their games. Last night I even bought their UNO game thinking that I can play poker, or pusoy, or tong-its on that, haha.. I just played it once gets bored coz I don't understand what am I doing while playing that..
I really hope that they will fix the controls of splinter cell.

Gameloft needs to get on the EA Store... purchase the Xperia PLAY version of Dead Space... play it extensively... then revise EVERY ONE of their shooters until the aiming controls work JUST like that. Unless they issued a new update that made things awesome, I remember Modern Combat 2 having controls that were poor, but doable... then they issued an update that made already sub-par controls into something that was simply IMPOSSIBLE to use.
The version of BIA2 I played was the worst of them all though... for some reason, trying to aim would automatically make me fire, and all kinds of things were just... ugh... Iuno why, but I bought that too... and I guess I'll see soon enough if it's been fixed.
(If nothing else... I get the strangest nerdy pleasure from seeing my list of Xperia PLAY games in the Launcher growing)

I would happily pay PSP prices for games like Zelda if they were available.
I am not happy paying 9NZD for a game that doesn't function properly and is filled with bugs.
May look nice and all, but with their "style of content" ethos they are pretty much making mass turds of bloatware games that lack two of the major ingredients of making a game enjoyable.
I have a long list of things I could buy for $9NZ, like the Baldur's Gate 1+ 2, a PS2 platinum title, PSP platinum title and Minecraft Pocket.
They can't even take time out of their day to come up some original content so these games ain't even worth 20cents tbh.

Tried to get the games and it would not let me. Error after I entered all my info. I'm in Los Angeles it will work but at 4.99. Wishful thinking damn and I was going to get everything too.

Did you select the R800x from the drop down and scan the QR code? Thats the only way to get that price otherwise you get hit for full price if you try and go through their wapshop.gameloft.com
As for everyone's criticism, I tend to agree in a way. I own a few of their games and yes they do rip off other franchises (ex Star Battalion is a huge ripoff of the story of Star Wars), but the production values in the games are decent. That said they are like just 1 notch below ready. Theres lots of little glitches in Assassins Creed that are a little annoying, and yeah the MC2 controls do suck pretty bad, Apshalt 6 has a few glitches as well. They feel like beta releases, almost ready for prime time but missing the polish and final fixes. This is why I wouldn't pay $5-$7 bucks for these games. But they continuously run sales like almost every week with either buy 1 get 1 free, or 99 cent games, if you're patient you can get any game of theirs you want for a buck. I've spent a total of $2.97 with them and have 3 of their games. While not perfect, at that price they are good enough.

However, the game seems better designed and has classier stuff than most of GameLift's efforts, including the terrible prequel.

Unfortunately no matter what they do, it will be cracked unless it needs to validate a individual serial key everytime you start the game like what blizzard does. But that only stops the online play. You can still play offline without key.

Was hoping for it to be Xperia-Play optimized like 9mm was. No dice.

It is Xperia Play optimized though it doesn't mention it anywhere. It even points you to the keys you have to use in the tutorial.
Even in this strange freemium format, Let's Golf 3 is better than I expected.

Yeah. Besides I don't seem to stick to there games anyway. 3 rounds is good for me.

The AI of the rivals in Matchplay games is really cruddy. Seldom have I seen something as exasperating as having the rival send the ball three times to the water in the same stroke.

Paying as you go is not my ideal setup. It costs WAY more in the long run. I've given gameloft my $5.

Can't get Let's Gold 3 HD to work on HD2
Everytime I start the game it says the game is not compatible with my device. I use HTC HD2 Leo (Android CM7 2.3 ver.). Is it because I don't have a 3D display or I can still get it work somehow ?
