Probably US only and for a short time everything Gameloft is 99 cents
http://gloft.co/d0fea1cc
Hmm what should I pick up next...... I'm still sitting on Eternal Legacy, downloaded it and havent even played it yet. Still finishing Assasins Creed and just started Modern Combat 2
Your link works in Canada too (over wifi). Bought them all at earlier promotions in the uk but 99 cents would beat our promotions. Wish they more games even so I have not played most of the already purchased.

Links works for me From Canada
Now what to buy
aww it still says 5$cad when I hit a game from the launcher
Gameloft is pretty lame tbh.
I have bought my last titles from them forever.
They shamelessly rip off better games that you probably would have more fun playing the original on an emulator.
I was playing Sacred Odyssey thinking it was original... Had never played Zelda:Orcania of Time. Now i am playing it on N64oid and I am like "WTF Gameloft you cheap c%*$".
Sacred Odyssey - 1Gig
Zelda - 25mb
The funny thing is the 25mb game is better than the 1 Gig rip off.

Minecraft's not from gameloft..
Also, link shows me 4.99 USD.. Im in SG.
Promo is not available in my country also, it is still 2.99$.
Anyway some Gameloft games had an issue esp the controls in MC2 and splinter cell conviction..
I really wan't to play that splinter cell, but the i'm always having a hard time using the controls, the sensitivity is too fast when using the right touchpad and there's no option to decrease it..
Not to mention the bug riddled Backstab.
Really have lost faith in this developer.

Actually Gameloft only charges $5 max while Zelda cost me $70 back in the days.
Even at $5 I think the games are worth it
I agree %110 with previous poster. Gameloft's re-makes of some classic titles is pretty shameless. I give them credit for being one the first to bring these genres to android masses.
That said, Xperia play owners should expect to pay a lot less for gameloft titles than some of the better titles in the same genre. I just finished battlefield 2. That games was done really well. The developer had the time to make it right. The controls are so fluid...man is was great. In contrast, play black pegasus 2, and your rubbing the controls constantly. This seems to be there method of there control skeme. Even in splinter cell conviction, as much as I would like to continue trying to play it, I cant stand the controls. EA's games of much higher production quality imho. I have been playing dead space and once again intuative controls.
Graphically the games seem to be somewhat sub-par by comparison to some of the EA releases. I would not have paid for asphalt before nfs but I digress. So 99 cents ain't to shabby. Fair exchage is not a robbery, right.

Getting ALL of these.
Sometimes I'm thinking too not to buy again from this publisher, but still I continue buying their games. Last night I even bought their UNO game thinking that I can play poker, or pusoy, or tong-its on that, haha.. I just played it once gets bored coz I don't understand what am I doing while playing that..
I really hope that they will fix the controls of splinter cell.

Gameloft needs to get on the EA Store... purchase the Xperia PLAY version of Dead Space... play it extensively... then revise EVERY ONE of their shooters until the aiming controls work JUST like that. Unless they issued a new update that made things awesome, I remember Modern Combat 2 having controls that were poor, but doable... then they issued an update that made already sub-par controls into something that was simply IMPOSSIBLE to use.
The version of BIA2 I played was the worst of them all though... for some reason, trying to aim would automatically make me fire, and all kinds of things were just... ugh... Iuno why, but I bought that too... and I guess I'll see soon enough if it's been fixed.
(If nothing else... I get the strangest nerdy pleasure from seeing my list of Xperia PLAY games in the Launcher growing)
I got
Nova 2
Eternal Legacy
Star Front Collision
Uno
Backstab
Rainbow Six
Brothers in Arms 2
Assassins Creed

I would happily pay PSP prices for games like Zelda if they were available.
I am not happy paying 9NZD for a game that doesn't function properly and is filled with bugs.
May look nice and all, but with their "style of content" ethos they are pretty much making mass turds of bloatware games that lack two of the major ingredients of making a game enjoyable.
I have a long list of things I could buy for $9NZ, like the Baldur's Gate 1+ 2, a PS2 platinum title, PSP platinum title and Minecraft Pocket.
They can't even take time out of their day to come up some original content so these games ain't even worth 20cents tbh.
Tried to get the games and it would not let me. Error after I entered all my info. I'm in Los Angeles it will work but at 4.99. Wishful thinking damn and I was going to get everything too.

Did you select the R800x from the drop down and scan the QR code? Thats the only way to get that price otherwise you get hit for full price if you try and go through their wapshop.gameloft.com
As for everyone's criticism, I tend to agree in a way. I own a few of their games and yes they do rip off other franchises (ex Star Battalion is a huge ripoff of the story of Star Wars), but the production values in the games are decent. That said they are like just 1 notch below ready. Theres lots of little glitches in Assassins Creed that are a little annoying, and yeah the MC2 controls do suck pretty bad, Apshalt 6 has a few glitches as well. They feel like beta releases, almost ready for prime time but missing the polish and final fixes. This is why I wouldn't pay $5-$7 bucks for these games. But they continuously run sales like almost every week with either buy 1 get 1 free, or 99 cent games, if you're patient you can get any game of theirs you want for a buck. I've spent a total of $2.97 with them and have 3 of their games. While not perfect, at that price they are good enough.

I just downloaded this game saying in my mind another too good to be true app but still bought it. WOW! I can confidently say graphics were better than my old PSP. It's smooth, Fast and runs like butter on cm7. Its fun and addicting and just wanted to say buy it now!
Already bought it yesterday.
that's good to hear.. i was on the fence with this one.. i guess i'll go ahead and get it then. Thanks!
Yup bought this game its sick the graphics are awsome and the gameplay is very fun!
I got it Sunday as soon as I woke up it was in the Tegra zone and I downloaded i right then. I'm a huge fan of hydro thunder and the xbox port Hurricane s when I saw it was made by the same team I jumped on it. So far it's been tons of fun. But easy is a bit too easy. Playing on hard is a good challenge though.

Na I don't think that's as good
Riptide is a great game. Definitely brings back fond memories of Hydro Thunder on my Dreamcast....minus the long load times.
This, my friends, is why I bought a Tegra 2 device.
I LOVE Hydro Thunder. My dad and I would hit up a movie theater, buy tickets for a movie that starts in like an hour, and just sink tons of quarters into the machines playing 2 player in those arcades.
They are one of those games where it is easy to pick up but challenging enough to be rough (if you try to unlock all the levels, boats, and skins).
I don't know how involved Riptide GP is but if it is half of what Hydro Thunder is, it would still be a sweet game to have at your disposal.
Just thought this was yet another race game...but you guys have convinced me. Just bought it...DL now.
Ok...gotta say, It's as good as the hype. If you like racing games at all this is a must buy. Game play is spot on and visual effects are incredible.

Riptide GP is 1 of the best Android games out right now. If anyone wants to see how it runs on a tegra 2 phone, here's gameplay video.
I downloaded the demo from the market. Awesome.
I was a little disappointed because while there are "12 Maps" I noticed that the last 6 are just the first 6 in reverse. I guess that works but I'd rather have 12 different maps, AND 12 in reverse (which is what I thought it was).
Overall the game seemed fun. Controls worked well. Kinda weird that your booster only works once vs being able to control it (for turns). Tricks seemed kinda corny too. I'd rather just collect boosters like in Hydro Thunder because it adds to the excitement of having to go out of your way to grab a booster, or trying to find a hidden passage with a coin and booster. Makes the maps worthwhile to explore... although I believe that Riptide will be more linear and not have several paths like its big brothers.
Still a blast to play. The demo was 3 laps of 1 map. I passed up the other riders within seconds. That tells me that Easy probably wouldn't even be fun.
In Hydro Thunder, the difficulty is determined by which boat you choose. That way you always have competition. I dunno. I just love Hydro Thunder. Perhaps someone could steer me wrong on my assumptions (because I haven't played the actual full game). I'd love to be wrong at this. The game itself is beautiful. The water is gorgeous as well as the graphics.
On another note, I also played Vendetta Online today on my G2x. That game was pretty sweet but you can tell it is made for a tablet. Takes a little patience in the tiny menu's but the game itself looks awesome.

The boost doesn't just work once. You need to recharge it by doing tricks. And, you'll definitely need to in the later levels just to keep up.
Hey, I didn't see a post about this.
I noticed that if you launch the stock browser, you are taken to Verizon's page, scroll down to Gameloft games, there should be a banner saying buy one get one free. It's somewhat limited, but there are some great games there. I got six for the price of three
Not sure if there is another way to access this besides Verizon's default page. Hope you enjoy!
going to get dungeon hunter 2 for sure what should my second game be shadow vanguard or modern combat 2?
Modern combat definatly, its amazing.
It took me about a week to notice this myself. Props for posting it though. I didn't think to. Got me 2 pairs!

And, even at 10 cents, I wouldn't buy an app I don't like. Think about it.. What if you buy "AndFart", and it has to sit in your purchased apps list FOR EVER. Like, 10 years from now, your new wife/girlfriend/kid/grandkid/political foe, etc, is perusing your apps and they notice that at some point in history, you decided "AndFart" was worth purchasing...

Minecraft, ADW EX, SwiftKey X, etc.
There are some really good deals out there for the price. For example I don't always use ADW EX, but I have purchased it in the past and do like to rotate it in occasionally. And it worked out with my Asus Transformer tablet because ADW EX is one of the new launchers that works with Honeycomb (and ICS now).
SwiftKey X wasn't my forte on my mobile, but on my tablet it works great. I think the past few days I've spent $.90 cents on a bunch of great apps and games... can't complain.
Just downloaded the Blue Skies Donation Wallpaper and it's pretty slick. I now have it running on my Transformer's background.

Anyone else getting errors trying to buy some of today's apps? Getting errors trying from both my phone and via computer.
So the biggest request I've received since I started xperiaplaygamer is a sort-by date option. Putting that system into place would be easy...hunting down release dates for 367 games, however, would be a nightmare
On an insane little whim, I decided to see what all related info I had to see if I could turn this request into a reality.
While doing so, I noticed that my Xperia Play review (from November '11) noted 173 games under Xperia Play's belt. Then I had a major "holy crap!" moment. Between then and now; not only did Xperia Play's library do more than double, it jumped 6 shy of 200 games! While these are typical numbers for the smartphone app scene, this figure is not typical for the higher tier of smartphone gaming where physical gamepads come into play. While they'd solve a ton of problems, most gamepad solutions get ignored so badly that they fall into the "Totally goddamned useless outside of emulation" pit of oblivion.
...and through some form of psychotic paradox (that I can't even make sense of), Xperia Play manages to not only have quantity, but has a breathtaking 334 out of 367 games scoring between 70%-100% (going by Google Play Store ratings, of course).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's not been a single gaming handheld released in history that lasted over a year and had positive reception on 91% of it's entire library - that in itself may be even wilder than the near 200 game growth!
Just sharing the tidbits of optimism & good news

You're right all over the place. This device just feels brand new, I mean... It replaced ALL my mobile gaming. I mean all of it. Accounting for the fact that I also love emulation... Anyway, I think it could be put actually above other portable consoles. All of this without even considering the smartphone functionalities. As soon as I heard it coming out, I knew it was gonna be mindblowing. But now this much. I mean, we will probably get Aralon. That's not something you're going to find on portable consoles so easily.

The phone might not have been as big as SE would have hoped but as a gamer , this is the greatest phone i have ever used @[email protected]
Even if i get a new smartphone , i know that i will NEVER sell my XP . Unless of course my next Smart phone is an XP 2 @[email protected]
Hardly consider it a failure , its the definition of a NICHE device and YET , its still getting tons of support from the indie devs and even big publishers like Gameloft and Rockstar. Not to mention that with GameKeyboard , the library is even bigger.

I'm trying not to accept this, but it really has. My PSP and DS are long gone, and after all that hyping up I did for the PSVita, it's been taking a backseat to my Xperia Play just because Xperia Play offers so much more! PSVita has one online shooter and one online RPG and... well... they're both fairly terrible compared to what we have on Xperia Play.

Also very true... I remember back when Aralon first got it's release and PSP owners (myself included) dropped our jaws because we not only had nothing of that caliber, but no open-world adventure RPGs whatsoever... Aralon wouldn't even be the first of that genre for Xperia Play :\
I also see myself sticking around for the long haul 'til we see something that can truly replace everything Xperia Play brings to the table.
yup im not getting new phone unless its xplay 2 or replace with xplay 4g!

I can relate to this, I left my PSP all alone since I bought the Play, I only use it to play Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, my NDS is next to my PSP without use too.
This phone is amazing, it's any gamers dream, there are so many games and I see games suitable for any person's liking. I was also looking forward to PS Vita but I believe if I buy it I'll play 2 or 3 games and leave it too, and it's kind of expensive...
Lastly, this phone was not a fail or an error. It has it's limitations but it's a very nice phone anyway! It draws attention from everyone when you slide the damn thing! I thought I wanted to trade it for a better phone and then when I got the chance I had to refused it.

A ways away. Aside from me having a lot of big things to worry about ATM, trying to get cooperation of people on three schedules doesn't work well unless a family event already has us in the same place.

Hey TLRtheory, been wondering... I've never seen 'HOGWORLD: Gnart's Adventure' on your list of Xperia Play optimized games. It's a wonderfully presented story driven title, which although not very long and aimed primarily at children is a great little play for any age.

I'll have to look into that. I'm currently unable to do any updates at the moment though.

Cool. No rush
Just came across this. Sony drops over 100 PS1 titles to PS Vita . This is just one mroe thing that pisses me off. Come on Sony.... our phone came with Crash Bandicoot and you only add 8 games to the [email protected] thing in over a year and the vita which is probably sold less then our XPLAY gets over 100 games in the library...rubbish
http://www.technobuffalo.com/gaming/portable/ps-vita-adds-over-100-playstation-classics-to-library/
Following games are just some of the released titles:
Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 2, Alundra
**** sony *************
I feel your pain, Its just another kick in the balls
I dont understand why Sony just cant release it for Vita and PLAY. I mean its all in the same source and would give them the chance to make more $$$ off these titles..... but again its just one more sucker punch to the ballsack
Desperation. PS Vita has sold abysmally. Some schmuck at Sony probably thought that having PS One exclusivity and a decent selection might force Android users to buy one and help improve the sales record

Ha!... Good thinking $ony..... I will admit the Vita is nice hardware wise but I have next to 0 interest. Still have my PSP and I have barely touched it since getting my XPLAY. But I will still keep my PSP as its got next to no value now and besides the kids like to watch movies to it, just lock the keys...
I would agree, the Vita was of no interest to me. The play is my phone/game console in one... what more could I have asked for

Bingo. The reason people buy the PLAY is so that they are not carrying around 2 devices like its 2006. I am sure if I did have it I would appreciate it for what it is and it is a nice system but I dont want to carry two devices and I dont want to carry a phone and a gamepad. The PLAYs all in one.
That Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (has Solid Snake, Sons Of The Liberty and Snake Eater), is making me look at Vita for the first time...
Seeing how their emulators were quickly exploited on Android... I can also see why...

Considering Sony's track record against piracy (removing Liunix from PS3) thats not a surprise, but its possible that they just didn't feel they were selling enough to justify any of the time needed to convert and play test them. Who knows?
Incidentally I did get a Vita a few days ago for my birthday with 3 games. I can offer the following:
1. The buttons on the Play seem a bit bigger and its a bit more comfortable to hold
2. The Vita works EXTREMELY well, the games (as you would expect for the price) are astronomically more detailed (and not just in graphics) than those on Android. Sometimes you forget how much different stuff is, but you really can't compare a game like Dead Trigger (which is fun and I love don't get me wrong) to Uncharted or Unit 13. Even Shadowgun, there is still just a big difference. That said of course the price difference justifies it.
3. The battery life BLOWS.... 2 hours of continuous gaming and its almost 2/3 dead.
The truth is I've beaten almost every game that was worth paying for (to me) on my Play, I'm sorta running short on games. Most I'm done with in a couple weeks. That said I won't stop using it and I have still been playing games I like on there but any of these comparisons in graphics on consoles that you may read about (especially with iOS) are a joke, they can't hold a candle to the Vita. Same with game depth.
Also there little nags you never deal with, like sometimes I have to reboot the Play to get the best game performance, some games crash or freeze up, and I'm always playing dig for space thanks to its 400mb of memory (stupid!).
If another Play comes out I will buy it, heck I may even buy an unlocked one when my contract is up. The Vita won't be replacing my Play, but it is a nice addition to my collection.
Scumbag Sony.
I never could buy a game because regional restrictions in my country.
Sony is badass. This proves it.

Nonsense. There is a pitiful selection of PS One classics available a year after release, with none available in many areas, so what did they expect? Even with the exploit, I bought all games of interest to me, about 8 in total, ones that I'd already bought on the ps3 psn store and despite the fact I could have just converted them myself for free. Its too easy and incredibly simplistic to just blame piracy. Precisely what does removing all PS One classics accomplish? leaving people with no other means but to pirate? makes total sense.

I bought it so I could have emulators on a handheld after my PSP broke and cuz it was the best phone I could get for £200. I carry my phone and my iPod around with me daily, sometimes a DS or 3DS too.
Yay for me.
I always knew Sony wouldn't support this phone. It was never even part of PlayStation.
I just want to "+1" to what Rogue Leader wrote. I too have both devices, PS Vita and Xplay and believe me guys, PS Vita games are an entirely different league.
I've had some fun with Xplay games and still play some, but Vita games are where it's at
I suggest everybody who did not try a Vita yet to go ahead a play it.
For me currently Wipeout 2048, Uncharted, Treasures of MOntezume Blitz and even some PSP games are an experience the likes of which I can't find on our lovely phone.
Also, WHAT THE HELL is wrong with Sony releasing 100 PSOne games on the Vita? They promised this compatibility LONG BEFORE the Vita was released FFS.
Hey sony ,
there is so many different between vita and xperia play !
*** sony !
i have psvita and play , but xperia play is always on my pocket , even on at the work time .
i don't know why Sony is still persist on its crazy idea that xplay is in competition with vita !!!!!
sony can keep both of them on top , but unfortunately , our xperia play ...
