[Q] Samsung Galaxy S+ i9001 ics ROM NO GOOGLE PLAY?! - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

So I installed that Cyanogen ICS ROM today to my SGS+ and I picked that latest version and Gapps that page recommended, the problem is that everything else works fine but I won't get Google play app?! I opened phone at recovery mode and performed catche wipe and factory reset and then installed ROM and right after that the Gapps. When I start my phone I wont have the Google play app there. So does the icon change or do you have to do something to enable it? Cause this happened me with Jelly Bean Rom and I tought that it was just the rom, so I changed for ICS and now its not working? HELP! Sorry for my bad english.

You need configure a google account, going to settings -> accounts

samsung galaxy ace plus google apps not working

hi guys!!
I rooted my 2 months old Samsung galaxy ace plus.
After that i installed Titanium backup and started uninstalling after keeping the backup of many google apps from the systemapp list that was useless for me.but after that My google play stopped working.
I tried to restore those apps but titanium backup hangs up everytime.
I tried many stupid things of which i wasn't aware and bricked my phone but somehow managed to get it back by flashing the corrupted rom by googling.
But now I want my phone to be new as . most importantly the google apps and google play.

I had this issue with my SGS+ and solution for me was to flash another ROM. I searched the app in the Play Store and seems that app was "incompatible" with my device. This has someting to do with the rom itself.
I would try wiping play store data and cache and see if this works.
If not, wipe cache and dalvik-cache could help.
But if you really want your phone as new, I think you should flash stock rom for it.
Anyway, good luck!

Samsung Galaxy Ace fora are here.
Well I foolishly uninstalled the google download manager 2.3.6, downloads and google plus and now tit backup is hanging up during restoring.
and after that my google play, gmaill and other google apps stopped working.
If i install cynogenmod, ics or any other ROM.
could this problem be solved?
:silly:
You can search for 2.3.6 google apps and install them from recovery or even geting the .apk files.
Sorry I cant help you here because I have ICS custom rom.

Unfortunately, Android keyboard has stopped

I installed CM10 on my AT&T HTC One X and can't type anything as the keyboard keeps crashing. I've searched all over the net for a keyboard to install but everything like Swype requires you install it from the phone directly which I can't type on. Does anyone know of a solution to this crashing issue or somewhere that I can get an alternate KB?
Here's the issue, the keyboard keeps crashing and the home button doesn't work either.. the phone just vibrates when I press it. I installed the CM10 nightly build plus the gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip GAPPS. I've been searching all over and search keeps breaking on xda so I can't find much on here right now.

Try rolling back to the most recent stable version.
The new JB keyboard crashes on me whenever I try to save anything, but I'm running it on a Sense rom.

So you can't even interact with the "Select input method" dialogue in the notification pane? Because you should be able to remotely install a new keyboard through Play. Then once it's there, you can switch in the notification pane.
I'm having the same issue. Tried installing CM10 coming from CleanRom. Did a wipe before install.
Not only keyboard for me, home button doesn't work correctly and I cannot launch the browser.
Went back into recovery, flashed CM10 again, preformed not only a factory reset but also did a "system" wipe.
rebooted and things were fine.
rebooted back into recover and installed gapps, things are hosed again.
reproduced on gapps 4.2 and gapps-jb-20121130-signed.zip

OK,
Factory Reset and wipe "System"
Install CM10
Use gapps from 1011 - gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Things are working.

I can't seem to find Wipe "System" in the Factory Reset. The only options I am given to wipe are the data and cache which I have tried doing and afterwards reinstalling CM10 and GAPPS-jb-20121011-signed.zip yet the "Unfortunately Android's Keyboard (ASOP) has stopped working" still pops up
I know you have tried one of these but ill quote what Inflatedtitan gave to me when i had the same problem.
"Sounds like there could be a few problems so were gonna go with the most popular ones lol..
1. Sounds like you didn't wipe everything in twrp before you flashed. Make your you always wipe cache, dalvick, factory reset, and system. Then flash Rom followed by gapps.. then reboot
2. Have you restored from a titanium backup? If so, make sure next time its ONLY user apps.. if you restore system apps and data, think of your system settings from one Rom clashing with the system files from your new Rom. They won't play nice together. Only backup and restore user apps+data
3. If the above steps were taken correctly, I would delete the Rom.zip from phone. Maybe download using a different browser. Chrome browser is notorious for corrupting roms.. you could have had a bad download
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk 2"
With these steps I got my ROM working so maybe it could help you.
The issue y'all are having is coming from the newest gapps. Install a older gapps and you will be up and running. I had the same issue on my tab 7.0 and hox and reinstalling new gapps worked

I had the same problem as others here, keyboard would stop working as soon as my One X started. The above fixed it. I only wiped System, did not Factory Reset. Make sure you're using the above version JB Gapps.
I've seen this issue when I accidentally forget to wipe something. I've found I have to wipe, flash previously working Rom, THEN go back, wipe and install new rom.

[Q] tried to instal gapps, get non stop error on boot.

So I rooted/unlocked and flashed Cm10 last night with success. The phone was working fine except I had no google apps and iI was having a hard time getting them installed.I ended up following a thread but with my luck I installed the wrong version of gapps it seems. I've been searching all morning for the fix on my dev with no luck.. Now when I boot the phone I get non stop "unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped. " errors and can't do squat. I have tried whiping cache,/ factory settings, and the other one from recovery. And to top it all off it all off out of no where my samsung drivers I installed decided to stop working, so now i'm running into probs getting the correct gapps on to my phone from my pc. Is there some way to un install the dang gapps or a workaround to that error. I know if I keep messing around with it I'm gonna brick the damn thing. pulling my hair out as it is now xD. verizon samsung galaxy s3 i535 with cm 10. I tried downloading the correct gapps that was advised and rebooted into recovery, but couldn't get recovery to mount the sd card, it won't show up on my computer anymore so that i may transfer the new zip. Any advice? Thanks a lot.

I would recommend re-flashing the CM10 ROM you installed so you can start with a clean slate. After you have reflashed the stock ROM then uninstall and reinstall the Samsung USB drivers, and see if your computer is then able to transfer files to your Phone. You can also use the Goo Manager App, to browse for, download, and install the correct version of Google Apps. What version of Google Apps did you install and from what source? Here is a link to the correct version of Google Apps for CM10 straight form the Cyanogenmod wiki. Let me know if you still have questions .
thank you.
Thank you for the detail and instruction, you would of had a laugh at the last answer I recieved. I'll give this a try here in a bit and let you now how it went, I'll have to look at the version of that gapps I tried when I get home, but I got it off a help post on the forums. Thank you again, I appreciate the help.

Did you do a full wipe when you installed the CM 10.1 ROM? Going from Cyanogenmod 10 to 10.1 you should do a full wipe, making sure to wipe both the data and cache Also the Google Apps I linked to in my previous post were meant for Cyanogenmod 10 not Cyanogenmod 10.1 the correct Google Apps for Cyanogenmod 10.1 can be found here. At this point I would recommend re-flashing the CM 10.1 ROM you downloaded and then flash the Cyanogenmod 10.1 Google Apps. If that doesn't work I would recommend taking a look at this video.
Wipe system also. That is where the rom is.

Blank screen after flashing new rom.!!?

Hi.!!
Did anyone encounter this blank/black home screen problem after flashing with 22/11/2013 or 24/11/2013 unofficial cyanogenmod 11 rom.!!?
Because I didn't have luck in using this nightly version of roms.!!
I flashed these 2 versions of roms and along with them flashed the latest pa gapps of 19/11/2013. Everything went fine, the flashing process, booting process and I even happen to enter my google account and then my home screen never came.!! I tried flashing a lot of times, wiping cache, format system but still the same.!!
The notification panel works fine and so do the apps/settings notification tray.!! After a long time of examination of where things went wrong, I found that google search did not get installed when I flashed the gapps which is a very essential app for launcher in kitkat.!! They did include this google search app in pa gapps but it didn't get installed.!!? How can this happen.!!
The only newest version am getting to use is 21/11/2013 version of this rom and google search gets installed on this rom no matter what.!!!
Some one can actually let me know why this app isn't getting installed.!!? Since am getting a complete blank home screen, I cannot access any apps. So no chance of downloading it through play store. Is there any other alternative to only flash a google search so that things start working.!!?
P.S: I did have the latest CWM version 6.0.4.3.!!
YES..
I flash another gaps..

Thanks mate.!! That indeed helped me.!!! But I wish I got the option of photosphere in camera as well.!!
Any idea why google search isn't getting installed with the complete gapps package.!!?
Is it only with nexus s or other mobiles too facing the same problem.!?

[Q] rooted device without backing up(can't install anything)

Hello everyone! First post from a noob android fanboy! I have a gnex gsm version. I rooted recently and flashed cm11, but the problem is that I did not backed up my data(don't know why I did that sincerely), but the problem is somewhere else. I couldn't install anything. When I try to download Facebook it says error, try to download play store, won't open. I sign in with my account on play store on the web and it show the status of my previous apps installed, but I can't find them nowhere. This is the best part where I factory reset my phone, loosing all my data, but the situation is the same. I flashed cwm before the custom ROM, but I don't know if I have it anymore. Any idea is welcome guys. Thanks in advance
You cant install google play and start downloading apps right away !!
You have to flash GApps
(Google Apps)
Search for this on google : cm11 gapps
Download it and format system + factory reset from the recovery (cwm)
Then flash the rom again .. And before u boot to system, flash the GApps package
