Work in Progress
First of all, props and credit to nycbjr, dasunsrule32 and explodwild for their excellent work that contributed to the development of this ROM.
Make sure you have an AOSP 4.2 compatible recovery such as the twrp version below.
Please make sure you have backups for anything you don't want to lose.
Caution is advised. No promises this will not eat your device and take over your home.
Google apps linked below are the latest PA 4.2.2 version. These have been tested in combination with PA ROMs.
This is a preview of what is to come. we are working hard to tame 4.2, which brought significant changes and bugs.
Please do not ask about features from CyanogenMod, past PA releases or other ROM features. We will continue to add more features as we move toward version 3.x. Current focus is on getting to a 100% stable base.
If you have an issue please make sure it is repeatable, capture logcat/dmesg, etc and post to pastebin or similar.
Installation
Update your recovery to the latest version. Pre 4.2 recoveries can mess up your sd card/storage. We recommend TWRP.
Download TWRP 2.3.2.3 for TF700T: twrp-2.3.2.3-tf700t.blob or the official recovery below.
Official TWRP TF700T XDA Thread
Download pa google apps: http://tinyw.in/vbhe Updated 10-APR-2013
Download rom: http://tinyw.in/BCIG Updated 16-APR-2013
Follow PA on Google+ for changes and other info
Install TWRP from fastboot: "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp-2.3.2.3-tf700t.blob". This step is needed if you do not already have a 4.2+ compatible recovery installed. Older recoveries have been known to cause serious problems including loss of data. Did I mention you should backup anything you care about?
Perform a factory reset in recovery, unless you are already on PA 2.99+
Flash ROM first, then gapps
Wipe dalvik & cache
Reboot and wait, first bootup can take a little time
Enter your Google account info, and follow the screen prompts
Please do not restore system apps, system data and Google apps. This can cause bootloops and other problems due to mismatches coming from CM to AOSP and moving from Android version 4.1.2 to 4.2
Features
Hybrid engine ported, Per App DPI and Per App Layout
Tablet UI back from the dead
Per app color
Quicksettings -> Quicktoggles (updated, expanded)
New recents implementation
We fixed the aosp lag in the recents view, well, most of it
New SystemUI Icons that can cope with transparent bars, thanks go to John Xionidis
See through Lockscreen is back
Transparent bars + Launcher2 modified to cope with it
4.2 Walls and Sounds
Google stock apps
Extended Desktop
GPS
Cameras
Auto-rotate is now working
Dock Keys are now working
Notes
WPA2 Connections with some Hidden SSID's may need the correct Wi-Fi region code to be set from WiFi > Advanced settings.
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT
This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR
ParanoidAndroid's newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

ive been running since last night and havent ran into any crashes, battery drain or stability problems and it runs just as smooth as any of the other roms, im gonna keep it as my daily.

I like how the wallpaper rotates and fills the portrait screen and doenst require any extra program
how can I speed up transitions/animations?
also, will data2sd work with this ROM?
dock doesn't charge the tab

I'm going to follow this one closely and if the user feedback is good I'll definitely install it. I'm very encouraged by the note that there are only two nonworking features so far.

Any luck having a PC discover the tablet? I'm not able to see it using windows, driver fails to install.

Used for a good half a day now, no issues after a few reboots to allow things to settle. Very good ROM, thanks!

I assume the "Not Yet Working" still applies to the 2.99.9 build here: http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/tf700t
I wasn't expecting to see any 2.99.x builds from paranoid for non-nexus devices yet.
I thought I was going to have to buy a Nexus 10 to get any 4.2.1 AOSPA, now I will have to seriously consider the ASUS since they actually have a keyboard dock.

Having tinny audio, anyone have a solution?

one of my main reasons as well of not jumping ship to the Nexus 10 (plus I don't really like the design of the N10...)
I hope progress gets to a point where it is usable. Have loved PA since I started using it in the 1.6 version . havent tried anything else since...

been using this a day now, few issues, mostly dock based. first, no dock battery indicator in controlpanel. second, when typing on keyboard, the suggestions appear on screen, where they didnt in cm10 . other than that awesome for a first version!

Yes, not working still applies. The other build was just to test a change in GooManager functioning. Since I happen to have a TF700T with dock, I have a personal interest in a build for that device. Also have a Nexus 10 on order, so will be working on that platform as well.

Still very early days for 4.2.1 on TF700T. The proprietaries I am using from nycbjr, are based on Nexus 7 as there are no 4.2.1 binaries from Asus. There are also many things specific to the TF700T (such as dock features) that are not yet available. The combination of changing from CM to AOSP source base, along with hwc/binary changes from 4.1 to 4.2 mean that there is still a ways to go, and some areas will require significant effort unless/until Asus releases an update.

One issue I've notice is i have video out but no audio over HDMI. For a preview this is a daily driver in my book in case someone is wondering.

[ROM] dReWs-Ginger_FauxICS v.Beta2 (HTC Hero CDMA) **Updated 11/06/2011**

Ever since my laptop crashed with Vista, which also happened to bork my recovery, I've been running Linux (Ubuntu 10.10) on it. Since I was now running Linux natively on my laptop, I decided to try to cook a ROM just to do it. With that said, I'd like to introduce to you my very first attempt at cooking with Android... Ginger_FauxICS (v.Alpha3.1).
This ROM was built using kushdeck's gingerbread-hero-deck 1.3 as a base. The only thing I added was a Juwell's RAM optimization script which I had modified ever so slightly, ACS's ICSLauncher, and Pins Music Mod. From the Ice Cream Sandwich system dump, I also added the ICS bootanimation, font, and some icons. I also swapped out some pngs in the framework-res.
For that all around ICS look, you can also flash DameonAndMeagan's ICS Ring Lock Mod which you can grab from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312431
This was originaly a ROM that I baked for a friend of mine since my Hero is no longer activated. When I flashed it on my friend's phone, everything worked and it seems to be running pretty snappy.
Please note that I am in no way a developer of any kind. I'm just a dood that likes to tinker with electronics. All I did was piece together different elements created by the hardworking devs of our awesome community. All the credit goes to them.
Some features:
ICS themed CM7.1 (Launcher, Fonts, Icons, etc.)
Ram Optimization
Deodexed
Apps2Ext
and more...
Also here's a video of an older version of this ROM in action:

10/31/2011 (Beta1)
- Updated version of ICSLauncher and other little things...
10/25/2011 (Alpha3.1)
- Initial Release
Installation Instructions:
- Download ROM from here:
http://sirthumpalot.blogspot.com/2011/10/rom-overview-drews-gingerfauxics.html
- Place ROM on the root of your sdcard
- Put phone into recovery
- Navigate to "Backup and Restore" and backup your current setup first (Optional but I always backup just in case"
- Once fully backed up, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache twice. I wipe twice just because I'm OCD like that.
- Go to "Format and Mount" and format boot, cache, data, and system. (If you're curently running and ext4 partition on your sdcard already, you may also want to format the sdext as well)
- From there, flash the ROM (gapps with vvm already baked into the ROM)
- You're done.
**User TIPS**
Per InsaneHien
- ROM can be flashed using Darchstar's Amon RA recovery if you resign the zip using PPCGeeks Android APK & Zip Signer program
- Enabling 16-bit transparency in advanced settings speeds up homescreen scrolling
**Known Issues**
Per gidkid - "When you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps..."
Solution: Another solution other than restarting the launcher is also simply pressing the back button. That worked for me anyway.
Also per gidkid - "...while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups..."
Solution: I'm not sure how to fix this as of yet as it may be an issue caused by how the launcher app reacts to our phone's device limitations. I'll see if I can work something out.
If you dig this ROM and would like to donate to this project, please donate to the Devs listed above instead (Their donation links should be listed in their corresponding URLs). They work hard to enhance the user experience we get from our devices and for that we owe them a debt of gratitude.
If you wish, you can also feel free to donate to the OccupyWallStreet Movement (http://occupywallst.org). Just like many others in this country, I've been struggling to find work and have lost my house to foreclosure. I believe the political and economic foundation of our great country no longer works for the people as it was originally intended, thus, we must work towards changing the overall state of affairs. We must hold onto what makes this country great. Work towards, once again, having a government of the people, for the people, by the people. We are the 99%. Thanks for reading.

Looks amazing. Always good to see something new around this forum. Thanks! I'll try it out and report back soon. If everything runs well, this could be a great ROM.
Just flashed this, and it was kinda slow until I enabled 16-bit transparency in the advanced settings. Now the scrolling speed on home screen is fast.
Also, this works with Amon's RA recovery. The ROM just needs to be signed so that it'll flash.

Thanks for the tip on the scrolling speed. I'll add it to the original post.
In regards to getting it to flash with Amon RA, did you have to change the script type for it to work?
So far, I'm liking this ROM. It looks nice, and while it was a bit of a shock going back to AOSP/CM after a while with Sense, it was worth it for the ICS looks.
It's not slow, not by a long shot. It's not perfectly smooth, either, and, especially while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups, with or without 16 bit scrolling enabled.
The one little bug I found was that when you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps, but it's slightly inconvenient while they're gone.
Other than that, great ROM, great contribution. I'll be running this as my daily pending GPS and other tests.

I appreciate the detailed feedback. I believe you can simply press the back button when the soft buttons and app drawer disappear. I'm not sure what causes that unfortunately and I may not be able to look into it anytime soon cuz I have about two weeks to pack up my entire house to move. I'll see what i can do. I'm glad ya dig it. Cheers!

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a useful addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid (or Phablet) Mode, best of both worlds.

Omg lol awesome.
This ROM is amazing - impressive UI.
My quick tinkering with the Paranoid system settings came up with this:
Tablet Mode and Hybrid Mode both ticked.
Framework-res-DPI = custom 175. (Notification appropriate for our display.)
SystemUI DPI = Tablet. (Lock screen resize for our display.)
Again if we could please have an optional flashable for the 3.30 kernel (as it provides better battery then 3.36.)
This is a refreshing change from vanilla cm9.
2 Things I've noticed:
A) Gmail looks great, however trying to Open any email from the Inbox folder gives a 'Gmail has stopped' toast popup. Opening from All Mail folder works. Weird.
B) When phone is locked. If you press back or menu, the front face lights turn on but do not turn off.
We thank you XMC.

Awesome man, you've been all over these ROMs.
What's the reason for the A5 kernel, is something broken in A6? I'm assuming A5 means CM9 Alpha 5, or am I wrong?

Again if we could please have an optional flashable for the 3.30 kernel (as it provides better battery then 3.36.)
This is a refreshing change from vanilla cm9.
2 Things I've noticed:
A) Gmail looks great, however trying to Open any email from the Inbox folder gives a 'Gmail has stopped' toast popup. Opening from All Mail folder works. Weird.
B) When phone is locked. If you press back or menu, the front face lights turn on but do not turn off.
We thank you XMC.

I think you swapped your values for framework-res and systemUI. Also, the 175 DPI for system doesn't work if you use the onscreen nav buttons -145 works pretty well. Clock on lockscreen gets cut off in landscape mode when using "tablet" DPI. 150 looks pretty good for the framework setting here.
As an FYI - I was able to boot it using the CM9 A5 kernel because as I was using that already and I'm not S-off, but wifi was borked. Once I flashed in the kernel from this build wifi was working, but I'll have to get back to you as far as battery goes. I got a lot of problems with battery levels on the a5 kernel, especially when rebooting my battery level seemed to be random.
I didn't wipe when I flashed and came from CM9 a5. I noticed a couple of my apps were missing, and when I tried to install from market, I got an error stating "missing shared library". Is this because I didn't wipe? Can anyone confirm if you are able to install Bank of America from market?
The thing I've noticed most about this ROM aside from the awesome UI is BLAZING speed. Market and browser come up and load pages instantly - probably twice if not triple the speed of CM9 A5

Yeah I did mix those up, accident
I don't use the onscreen nav buttons option.
Funny though, cos further testing got me to 145dpi for system also, great minds think alike.
Bug:
I found that an input field does not appear/allow setting individual applications 'custom dpi'.
Other than this I didn't find much wrong with this excellent rom!!!

It looks like the gapps is missing something in this ROM - I looked up the error and saw that people had this problem on other ROMs from time to time. I flashed the latest gapps from CM and found that not only was it resolved, but the apps were already there and didn't need to be reinstalled.
Here are my current settings for the look, feel, and behavior that I like best. I am kanging XMC's "hints" section
- Download and flash latest gapps if you run into library errors on any of your apps
- Set the font size to "Normal"
- Go into the Apex settings > dock settings, hold your phone in landscape, change the button quantity to 5, then back to 3. (Buttons shouldn't be crammed together anymore).
- Check "Auto Hide" in Settings, System, Statusbar, to finally get Fullscreen (or Hold power button, and press "Toggle StatusBar"). You can turn auto-hide off afterward, if you want status bar to be always visible.
- Launcher Settings: margins: NONE (If youre using Apex / Nova), show permanent searchbar: YES, Grid: 4x4, resize all widgets: YES, Wallpaper scrolling: On or off, your pref
- Paranoid settings:
- Tablet Mode and Hybrid Mode checked
- System default DPI: tablet
- User Default DPI: phone
- User Default UI: phone
- Framework-res DPI: Custom 150
- SystemUI DPI: Custom 145

I just could not get Apex launcher(and a bunch of user apps that don't seem to be optimized for tablet) to look good with the User UI set to tablet, and I'm never satisfied with the look of anything other than 4 x 4 as the icons and widgets go all wonky. As far as apps other than the launcher, It seems like it might be better to use the tablet UI for user apps to go through and see which ones look good and which don't at first, then set them up individually.
Edit: XMC, I'm convinced that you are either a robot, or you have multiple clones of yourself that all work on various dev projects. This ROM is absolutely the best thing I've seen for our device yet.
When I have everything set to tablet DPI values i cannot make phone calls it says force closed ... any suggestions?
LOVE THE ROM

Ya, that's one idea. If you long press the home button the bottom bar shows recent apps, and the volume and music shortcut like iPhone. But ill look into it for sure.

Update coming soon, took somethings out, put some in, changed around a few more. Looking nice. Still working on the language options, bare with me guys, learning as we go here.
Downloaded and running, seems very quick. Camera cannot select pixel amount ie 8m,6m etc. The radio app turns on Bluetooth when headsets plugged in. The music app good. GPS has a good lock with accuracy, but, didn't try navigation with it. Calendar has I believe chineese characters. In it, but its still usable
Overall great first effort, a iPhone on serious steroids.

Thanks, I wanted to give a little variety from the normal.
I appreciate adding the modded gapps but still have the car home issue. It still activates my speaker When making a call. In the pic you can see the car home logo at the top of my pic. I just don't understand. I normally use randomblame roms and have no issues. Any ideas on how to keep car home from activating. According to titanium backup car home isn't even on my phone
But other then that my favorite rom so far. I've tried most roms available

My only other suggestion would be to reflash, fully. Install the rom and inspire mod only, then gapps you want from the play separately for now. I apologize about that, Ill try and look deeper into it for the solution.

That's good to hear! Perhaps I should look around the Xoom forum again for updates,
Is there a reason why there's no md5 listed on any of the downloads? We've always been taught that checking the md5 is a crucial step before flashing something to our devices, but we can't because it isn't listed.

Not to pick on you tjhooker73, but let me explain something here...for everybody.
If you don't have a nexus device, your aosp ROM is based on a lot of CM work. Period. They are the best in the game at this. Now a lot of that has been done by core CM guys, and there's a lot from random devs but take a look through the big three ROMs source and guess what you will find....pages and pages of commit pulled from CM for non nexus hardware support. There's no way around it, no team is going to be able to recreate all that work in a timely manner. Every ROM in one way or another is based on a ton of CM work.
Now what sets ROMs apart is the look and feel, the feature set and any custom tweaks. PA for example are amazingly creative java guys with some real innovative stuff. Some other ROMs are just a hodge podge of random feature sourced from random places and called something else.
Now for EOS, we started with a 4.4.2. Aosp base, added in all the needed hardware/core/vold/telephony and a few others support needed for all the devices, mainly from CM because it works. After that its all feature work. We added a few things we like from CM, and a few others and then we got a bunch of our own features too. We hand pick what comes in and if we don't like what's out there we make it. Take our hardware keys for example, we weren't satisfied with the options for key reassignment the way CM incorporated it. So we rebuilt it, and softkeys. Now you have a list with every action you could think of available for single tap, double tap and long press on any key.

Not sure how you feel about feature requests, but given how many options there are here it would be great to be able to assign custom actions to these buttons (currently thinking tasker actions). Could this be easily implemented?

Chrome believes the archive is infected... first time I see such a serious warning in Chrome...
Can you prepare a mirror for the download, it really looks like there is smth wrong with the file.
Installed and working good. Is there a way to change wallpaper? They all turn black.
Edit: The live wallpapers work but none of the standard ones do. Also Google now fc's. Had a random reboot during a Sony game. Other than that very nice.
Gonna test your rom on my TF700T !

Yeah, I have the same problem with the wallpaper too, I downloaded zedge and I got that to work ok. just need to find wallpaper that fits otherwise you get a small picture(meant for phone) in the middle of the screen, but better than black :cyclops:
How does it run?

Yeah I am aware if that bug quite annoying I will remove Cm wallpaper in the next version to prevent further confusion. I am probably releasing a new version today based on the snapshot m7

Hmmm, I am having a slight issue, the battery seems to be draining quickly. When I look at the battery figures, it show awake on, all the time, solid green line with no breaks, it is attached to the dock, and in 24 hours it has totally drained the dock(100% yesterday) and about 30% of the tablet battery.
Hoping someone can suggest something? I may try and look at different kernel? but I am not sure if that is the issue.
Incidentally, I did a clean install, format and wipe cache etc.

Really that is very odd without the dock my tf700 has lost 34 percent in the las 57 hours with 1 hour 15 minutes of screen time
So far I am loving this rom! My only problem is Google plus says it is incompatible with this device. Any ideas?

Wow, that ROM is stunning and shoes by far the best pontential. Far more responsive than the Cronixxxx versions and better battery than CM as well. If you manage to get the annoying bugs out, I am sure you set a new standard here....

Yeah its improper implementation of the gappa will fix it in the next version. Finishing exams tomorrow so I can work on it. If you need a more immediate fix try flashing a part gappa over it.

Good luck with your exams. If your work is just as good as your ROM you will easily pass...
Looking forward to the new Version. So far still the best Transformer ROM out here!
So would your ROM be a similar experience to having a Sony tablet? Been thinking about one to replace my Transformer but definitely want to try this first.
