Hello, I hope I'm posing this question in the right forum.
Has anyone tried either the spigen or skinomi dual screen protectors? And what are their impressions?
I've never used either companies products so was interested to know.
From the reviews on amazon.com, I am inching towards skinomi, even though living in the uk, the spigen protectors would be slightly cheaper.
Anyone?
Thakks
Most of the reviews of SGP on amazon was before they had a cutout for the proximity sensor, which didnt allow the screen to turn back on when in call. Now they have fixed that. I honestly dont like the wet apply SP cause they have the rubbery feel to it compared to the plastic dry SP. you may like this review of the SGP dual series here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...-spigens-steinheil-dual-front-back-protector/

Oh yes I saw that review. Was just wondering if anyone had tried either of them as well.
I think I might go for spigen as I can get it in the uk, it's cheaper, and it should be here earlier than the skinomi (about a month).
Cheers. :good:
i currently have the SGP dual installed on my phone for a couple days now, i love it! cant tell the back cover is on there and it feels nice. the front may not cover the front fully but your fingers dont really touch the parts exposed anywho.
How was the alignment of the protector on the front, was it a PITA?

Actually it wasnt that bad, took me a couple tries maybe like 2-3 lifts to align it perfectly.
However, i had trouble with my brother N4 no matter what i did it seem to bubble up at the edges. maybe i can contact SGP and have them send my another SP cause all SP arent made equal? who knows
Just wondering if there's any coupons available? Would like to buy one.
The spigen dual are incredibly horrible. They do not cover the whole screen, they do not even come close, either. I give them some leeway because the screen is curved but it leaves SO much space.
I ordered skinomi, the wet apply ones cover the whole screen. Should be here thursday or friday.
I hated wet applied sp also but I hated having a sp not cover the entire screen more so I went with the skinomi. The skinomi was horrible the first 1.5 days because it had to dry but it feels perfectly fine now.

Well, i am getting a nexus 4 soon and confused as to which screen protector to use.
both skinomi and xtremegaurd seem to have good reviews in this forum.
Any clear cut winner between the two or any third one which should be considered since i just look at this forum and nowhere else?
XtremeGuard is really iffy. I got a bad batch from them, it came to $6 for 3 full body sets. All of the fronts were garbage, so I told them. They sent me 3 more new ones. I'm yet to receive them, but we'll see what happens...
Skinomi may have changed since I got one for my Galaxy S2, but these were like Zaggs, only of worse quality. Dust would get trapped on the surface of the skin, and it would take a lot of effort to get them out, such that I made scratches that wouldn't go away. I tried buffing it with a glass cleaner and ended up burning the surface of the protector such that it fogged it up beyond any recovery.
I hear good things about XOskins and BestSkinsEver, but I can't verify anything about those.
Get the ZAGG.

I have both the BSE and the xtremeguard for the N4. Orange peel is about the same for both(next to nothing). The BSE is the cleaner cut of the two although mine doesn't have a proximity cut out they have since changed that afaik. Out of the gate the BSE is definitely the less tacky. About the same for reflectiveness and dimensions. Xtremeguard is cheaper by quite a bit and comes with a very small microfiber.
*edit* if it matters to you BSE comes with side protectors while xtreme does not.

I agree that you should get Zagg - if you want to overpay and get a noticeable orange peel surface. If you want less orange peel (but still present) and less than half the cost, get Best Skin Ever.
I had a Zagg on a blackberry that got driven- over with my car - which completely destroyed the device. When I peeled-off the Zagg, the screen was in factory new condition. I was impressed with the protection it offered, but the orange peel and tackiness of the surface really detected from interfacing with a glass surface.
Everyone has an opinion about screen protectors, and now you know mine.

wah wah wah, no one asked for yours.
XtremeGuard sent me three faulty ones (no cut out for proximity sensor), so they sent a replacement, but only one set... i paid for three sets. plus the one they sent me turned out to be partially stuck to the envelope rendering it unusable. Still waiting for them to send me my 3 sets.
Very bad customer service, true they replay right away but so far all their replies are automated, they don't actually read what we write.
I used to have a Zagg on my GNex, but I got tired of the Orange peel effect. Swipes were pretty rough for the first few weeks as well. I ordered a total body skin from BSE and I am very impressed with it. Minimal orange peel and smooth swipes. However, I can see a few tiny dimples that have appeared and light marks where my fingernails went across the screen. But they can only be seen with the screen off and holding the screen at an angle in the light.

E-mail customer service about the proximity issue, they will send you one for free
EDIT: Just realized that those tiny dimples came from leaving my phone face down on a windows sill with paint that didn't dry flat.
It all depends what you like. i aboslutelly hate the rubbery feel protectors. I still like to feel like glass. If you want rubbery get zaggs if you prefer more like the current glass I'd recommend the Rearth Ringbo or SGP. I use the Rearth and its great and very very very easy to install.

I have this SPIGEN SGP Galaxy S4 Screen Protector GLAS.tR SLIM Premium Tempered Glass from 10th of September 2013 on my phone.
I loved it until about a month ago for no apparent reason it started developing this bubble under the glass in the top right corner (see pictures).
I didn't drop the phone nor tried to lift the screen protector since I put it on. At first it was smaller but it keeps getting bigger little by little.
I tried squeezing on it, to get it to stick back or push out air bubble with significant force to no avail. I take good care of my gadgets keep them in cases and clean so they look like new, so this thing annoys me a lot
Anyone knows why this would happen?
That's just what happens with glass screen protectors sometimes. My iloome did it for my iPhone 5 and now my S4 as well. My friends bought Chinese glass screen protectors and it did it for them on their S4. My seidio vitreo did it on my iPad 3. Though my iloome on my iPod is fine, and it's been there for a while. And my mime protector on my iPad mini is fine for now. So it's really hit and miss in my opinion. Hear the thin ones (spigen nano, iloome flex, mime feather) have a slimmer chance of this happening though.

It happens when force is applied to the edge of the phone/screen protector.
I found that it doesn't take much to cause the glass sp to lift up.
In my particular case, the lip of my case would apply just enough to lift top left corner of my glass sp.

It's a shame I really like this glass screen protector but now it looks ugly, I guess next time I'll go for slimmer version.
But still something had to cause this because it was OK for four months. And as I said I take care of my phone, never dropped it sat on it etc.
So it's bit strange why it would do that.

All the time I used Spigen Neo Hybrid case on my phone so it's designed by the same company and doesn't touch the glass.
I just recently purchase Case Mate barely there case that you see in the pictures which doesn't touch the glass either.
This has happened to me with every tempered glass product I've used from Spigen. And it happened relatively soon too; within the first few days of use. I can't see it being an issue with my screen being improperly prepared either, as I am very meticulous when it comes to screen protectors.
I absolutely love their cases and plastic screen protectors but I can no longer justify spending $30+ on their tempered glass.
Decided to go with Iloome Flex and I have been having much better luck so far. Over 60 days use and still no issues.
Here's a couple pictures of the Iloome Flex just for comparison http://i.imgur.com/LvG0JMr.jpg
Just wondered what the best way is to clean these without ruining the oleophobic coating? Thanks

Hey guys, My Z3 took a nasty fall onto some tile floor from about 4 feet, flat onto the ground. picked it up and sure enough it's shattered and touch doesn't work now.
$175 replacement, more disappointed in myself than anything.
I want to make sure the new screen is more protected, but I hate most screen protectors. I don't like that they're visible, and I don't like if they affect the viewing.
The best screen protector I've ever had the pleasure of using was actually the one preapplied to the Z1/s I used to have. Never even would have known it was there if not for reading about it on the internet. Is there a similar aftermarket protector I can get for my Z3?
Been thinking of Spigen but not sure.
The glass ones are very nice. They don't affect the screen, however they're very thick compared to the more conventional screen protectors.
Nillkin glass protector is perfect! You don't even see it! For real, and also comes with a back protector (really useful).

I have the nillkin as well, purchased the rear glass protector to go with it. The back definitely is not 'hard' as the front, I have several deep scratches that I can actually feel. The anti-finger print coating also sucks...
I wouldn't recommend getting the Nillkin back glass protector.
Glass protector FTW, it has saved my phone twice now. Defiantly recommend a case too, you won't even know it's there.
I have a nillkin glass protector but it's so thick that neither of my two gel cases fits properly over the area where it slightly wraps around the front of the phone.
I have a rhino shield on mine and I'm pretty happy with it.
went ahead with the niilkin, thanks for the advice guys.

Jinxed it. Dropped my phone today and the screen shattered... but the screen protector is basically fine save from a couple puncture holes =/
At this point, I've tried three different glass screen protectors for the G5. I've tried a Pleson screen protector, an iCarez, and a SuperShieldz. All three of them didn't adhere and I had to through them away.
Am I the only one with this problem? I mean, there has to be a way to protect the screen, but I'm just getting so frustrated. If you have the same problem, or if you found a solution, please let me know...
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the rant. I'm just getting annoyed with what should be a straightforward process.
I had the same issue with the Tech Armor (http://www.amazon.com/Tech-Armor-Ba...-1&keywords=lg+g5+screen+protector+tech+armor).
Ended up with an amfilm film protector. It actually sticks to the screen and works pretty well. http://www.amazon.com/Protector-amF...507712&sr=8-2&keywords=lg+g5+screen+protector
Still using it after about 2 weeks, and no problems have come up. Hope that helps

GPEL has a model on pre-order right now for $25 ($30 msrp I guess). It appears to be made expressly contoured to fit the G5 properly, was a video on Reddit in the G5 sub showcasing it. Might be something. This is a gorilla glass phone like all the rest of them though so you'd have to really work at it to scratch it, screen protectors are not necessary.
I would hate to go back to film protectors because i've been using them for years, but I'm seeing a ton of negative thoughts about the glass versions for this phone. Might be a good idea to sacrifice the quality so the screen can be protected.
I just went to the Spigen films and it works well, smooth with no issues with installation

I don't mind using films, but I can't find any! All I find are the tempered glass protectors (square for 1$ and curved for ~10$).
I'm looking for the film ones.. the G5 came with one out of the box (Austria) but I need more..

Not the only one, my PET screen protectors don't seem to stay adhered for more than a week. Kinda annoying. Checking Amazon reviews, there seems to be a lot of these issues.
If you like matte protectors like I do, this one has been great. I had to replace it when the spigen case (the one with the chin piece for easy battery removal) I was using peeled it back, but both installs have been flawless. I now use the thin fit spigen with 0 issues.

Very easy to install, you would never know it's on,it matches the phone perfectly. No bubbles what so ever,it does not mess with the quality of screen images or color. It fits over the curved edges nicely. It has a little bit of a lip towards the bottom,by the LG logo, but not a big deal. I'd highly recommend this to anyone wanting a tempered glass screen. G-Color did a very nice job with this. It also sticks to the edges, ive had no issues.

G5 screen protector
Just got a new G5 and been lurking around for a better screen protector and read all reviews but i'm hesitant to get any of it but I might try this.
For the minute, the one that was on the phone is doing fine for me, when it needs swapping, I'll try and get a Zagg one as theyre pretty good.
Has anyone used the spigen glass screen protector. Any reviews please?
Whitestone dome was the first company (that in aware of) that used this technology, their screen protector is cheaper and from my experience quite good (the fingerprint recognizen is a bit dodgy.
It's not bad. But it's not eny better then the other much cheaper protectors. Same with the whitestone. I switched over to these and I like them. Very easy to put on and not messy at all.
[Fingerprint Compatible][2-Pack] 3D Tempered Glass for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G Screen Protector, [UV Gel Application][Easy Installation with Alignment][Anti-Scratch][Case Friendly] https://a.co/d/4csmeCM
I went with Amfilm
pack of 2, and the UV light comes in a box like structure, so no need to go go back and forth. Also, it's a lot cheaper.
I've had it for a month, and I got it right the first time....no issues. only thing is I see a white spot appear on the fingerprint scanning area ( probably something to do with adding a little weight on the sticker that comes in the box before and after curing) but it goes away once I wipe it.
Recommended for sure and if fingers aren't super dry like mine, the fingerprint sensor worls very well.

Link? I had a spigen sp when I first got the watch, but it was a hybrid film-like sp. If they have an actual glass one, I might give it a try. If you're talking about the hybrids, don't bother. I bought mine from best buy with the lifetime warranty through them, and I tried 3 times putting it on and getting the FPR to work good. It did not, all 3 times. I gave up.
Are the blue light things really necessary. I mean like the ones that come with teeth whitening kits, are they fake, just blue LEDs. I've always felt they are just overpriced and made to look like it's this uber special thing when its really the same cheap glass with optically clear glue.

Without the blue led the glue is just a non sticky regular liquid, you can't install the screen protector without it.
It's more like a gel nail polish than a teeth whitening gimmick if that make sense.
