Samsung has just released the source code for Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S2. Thought it would be pretty relevant for the Galaxy Tab Plus community as the devices do share the same SoC and from what I understand can now even boot the same kernel.
The source code can be found as usual at http://opensource.samsung.com/. Hope it helps with the JB port for this device.
Does it mean we will have full video hardware decoding including Flash, HDMI, clock and voltage support?

It means none of that. Sorry.

Bring out Galaxy Tab II already!
Meh. It doesn't stop me from ordering it online.
also, why would you want a galaxy tab 10.1 now? its tegra2, everybody's waiting for kal-el now.
apple was afraidd of the samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and 8.9 so he's doing a process in europe too but only in germany already

Everybody? If you're only interested in the processor, then by all means the Transformer2 is the way to go. I had a Qualcomm HTC Jetstream for nine days before I returned it and the UI was a bit faster but the Tab was equal in browsing and faster at video. If weight, form factor, build quality, support, audio and video codecs, display, and better drivers mean anything the G-Tab 10.1 is still a great choice. I have a Wi-Fi and am waiting for a 3G from the UK. For what a tablet's supposed to do the Teg is fine and Samsung's better optimized s/w helps its performance a lot.
Why post this in the Galaxy S II section? The more relevant thing to post would have been the changes Samsung has to make to TouchWiz in order for them to sell their devices in the Netherlands, as that directly affects the Galaxy S II(source: Samfirmware tweet). Galaxy Tab != Galaxy S II.

But of course you can get it in Germany too. Without problems. It is only not allowed for Samsung to import it
I don't think that this will matter so much to Sammy as they can make a variation of the tab 10.1 and it would be legal for retail sale in OZ. Plus Apple is scared of Samsung, i don't think that they will be able to stop every tablet that Sammy will produce in future. So this is pretty much a speed bump for Sammy

Maybe you're right. In any case, I've only tried out the Transformer1 and wasn't particularly impressed with its performance. Then again, might be possible that the SGS2 has spoilt me.

EDIT 1 - value pack confirmation from sammobile here

Is it necessary for Samsung in order to do that to upgrade drivers? Would it be possible to port those features to our Ics port? I know that i'm dreaming awake, but is nice to dream sometimes!

Here, it wasnt specified that sl will get the face unlock, etc. I thought we might just get another gb build. But the sammobile link says we can also expect some goodies..

Whoa. What did i do? In prev post, all i said was link 1 wasnt very specific, but sammobiles clarified that. I dont see where anyone could have a problem.
P.s. I had read both links.
Nice Man
Hi is there a possability that the JB - 4.1.1- XXLS2 from the Note N7000 can be ported over to the tab 7.7 since both have exactly the same
hardware! of course there will probably be a kernel issue I'm not sure since I'm not a developer but I hope that this might be a way to make our
Tablets revived for a few more months since it still is probably the tablet with the best possible screen and size!!!! Lets hope for the best
what's really would help is getting the documentation of the whole chipset.
they need details for developing the hardware abstraction layer (HAL), this will help in all later android releases not just JB.
Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.

Man I've been wondering about this same exact thing!!!!...Would really like to get Project Butter 100% on my 7.7. Although, I think the devs have done an awesome job so far...I also wonder if they would be able to incorporate the touchwiz/multiscreen UI as well with JB onto CM10.
Is it as simple as just dropping the "image/rom" from the N7000...idk, Im completely noob when it comes to this stuff.
I really wish Samsung would just release a fully functional OTA JB on this tablet. It blows the Ipad mini out the water.
how to download please ?
I am using a Samsung galaxy s duos that has ics out of the box. I am waiting for it to get updated to jb. even Samsung galaxy chat has been updated to jellybean which is having comparitively lower specs.Sony also updated its single core phone xperia j to jb?
so why there is no jellybean update in galaxy s duos?
will it ever updated to jb?
Here is the official JB update list of Samsung (which is subject to sudden change, but it's quite unlikely they will add any more devices - they usually remove devices that have not already got an update): samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00050212&fm_seq=55187.
It's not only a question of device specs or performance; it's also a question of marketing relevance and development effort. The device manufacturers have to adapt the original os from google to their devices; and on top of that, they put their own software like Touchwiz, which has to be adapted to new Android versions, too. Then everything has to be adapted and thoroughly tested with the telcos. The whole process does not make sense from a economic point of view as soon as the sales of the device drop below a certain margin. Non-widespread devices will not get updates at all.
Today I just discovered Samsung's opensource release center.
I am not a good developer so I'm just trying to seek attention of other Awesome and respected developers.
With the source let's get out note's features on other roms.
Examples :-
Samsung Camera app for AOSP
Samsung's S-Pen features for AOSP
S health for AOSP
I haven't downloaded the whole source code due to lack of high speed internet.
May they just included basic framework and drivers and libraries in their source, but i think xda has grown up enough to redesign drivers and frameworks and etc stuff that is required to run sammy apps on other roms.
here is the link for SM-N9005 :- SM-N9005(Qualcomm) csc variants.
here is the link for SM-N900R4(US Cellular N3) :- US Cellular Note 3
for other variants just visit opensource.samsung.com and search your device model.
If any mistake I'm sorry.
Nice thought, but that's just the kernel source. Modern versions of Touchwiz and Samsung's proprietary apps are not open source.
Check out other sections on that website... i saw that they have released whole source code for galaxy camera.. may be they have released one for our note too...

I've looked through Samsung's Open Source Release Center quite a bit. If they made any recent version of Touchwiz fully open source, it would be huge news. Unfortunately, I don't believe that will happen any time soon.
