[Q] start screen lock doesn't move on Zeki tablet - General Questions and Answers

I am brand new to android and my less than a week old Zeki tablet 7 inch. It was working. I decided to move the opening screen to the left and had a nice uncluttered just wallpaper screen when I turned it off. Now when i turn it on I have the picture of the lock but it no longer moves and there is no unlock icon showing to move it to.
How can i fix this so the tablet is usable?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I was going to remove the post, but thought this might help someone else. From Zeki support I found this.
Make sure your tablet has a full charge
Press and hold the Volume – button and tap the Reset button
(The reset button is located between the HDMI and USB ports)
Continue holding the Volume – button until the boot screen appears
Release the Volume – button
The reset button is not a button and requires an insertion into a tiny hole. I used an opened paper clip and repeatedly pressed on it while holding the volume and opening screen is back and tablet works.

[REQUEST][App] Screen dimmer time out

Hi everyone!
Has anyone found a way (maybe an app?) to change the screen backlight/lock behaviour?
What I'm looking for is the following behaviour:
Ability to have the screen only turn off the backlight after a certain amount of time, with
a) option to lock the device at the same time
b) option to also turn off the part of the screen that reacts to touch at the same time
c) options to set the timers for the aforementioned options separately
Basically I want the device to turn the backlight of the screen after 30 seconds to save power, but stay responsive to touch so that I don't need to pick up the device and press the power button before I can use it.
Then, after about 5 minutes, it should lock itself but respond to key presses, so that it can be unlocked without needing to press the power button.
Then, after another five minutes, the screen should completely go off and stop responding to touch altogether (the way it is on Android by default).
Has anyone found a way to do this? It would be REALLY useful for when you've got the phone laying flat on your desk and are IM'ing with a slow typer, meaning you've got 2 or 3 minutes between each message, and need to press the power button every time you get one...
It shohuld be a default setting in my opinion...
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Unlock screen, no wallpaper, no touch response :(

I was changing the wallpaper and it gave me the "setting wallpaper" dialog, which lasted for a long time. I pressed home and the gallery stayed on the screen but with nothing in it, and I couldn't get out of it. The back button did nothing.
I force powered down and rebooted and now when it starts (rebooted several times) I get a black screen with the time, the unlock button and the bottom right panel showing the time, wifi and SD card status.
There is no touch response, no response to volume controls, if I hit the power button it turns off the screen and wont come back on. I can connect to USB and navigate the internal memory.
Anyone have any idea what to do? :/ Stock rom, nothing extraordinary on the device.

[Q] HKC recovery mode

The title pretty much says it all, but I bought a HKC P776A tablet, and to say the most support is non existent for this product/brand, I've rooted it myself which was hard to figure out specially the drivers...but what I can't figure out is how to put this device into recovery mode on boot? And if it can I have no idea how you could even navigate it seeing as it only has home and power buttons as physical...Any ideas?

If you install the appropriate CWM Recovery, you can swipe up and down on the screen to change the selection and then swipe left to select or right to go back.

holding the the home button plug in the charger and wait for a android screen to come up it will show a android dude laying on his back with his chest open and a triangle warning symbol when you see that release the home button and press the home and power buttons at the same time and wait like 1 second then release the power button while still holding the home button and wait for the recovery mode to show then release the home button and voila!! you are in. When you are there navigate using the home button and press the power button to select. Hope this helps.

[Q] hang on the Setup screen

Hello, I got a tablet, I could open it to properly put the power button because the previous owner had had pressed too hard.
I realized that he had opened because the activation button to the right of the power button was to off.
I wanted to know if it is possible it is to forget to reconnect the water table that manages the tactile part.
Because I have a display without the touchscreen does not work, my tablet is stuck on the factory configuration screen. Thank you in advance for your answers.

[Q] the power button got crazy

Hi,
Since 1 month my Nexus 5 has a weird bug : when I hit the power button, it seems to be activated twice or more, the screen shows "screen on / screen off". So when I want to screen on my phone, it's immediately followed by a screen off, and when I want to screen off it, it screen on.
More embarrassing, the power button seems to remain pressed sometimes and induces random reboots or power off my phone.
I suppose it's a physical problem with the power button which may got dust inside his mecanism. So I wonder if anyone of you have an idea to fix it. Maybe by opening the phone and scratch it with a smooth brush it can be cleaned ?
Thank you in advance for your help....
