Just got my Surface today. Totally new to this platform though but is eager to start developing on apps and so on right away. Anyone able to guide me through the development process of RT?
Start by grabbing VisualStudio Express

hi, i have been a regular reader of this forum and love to see people using their gray cells and producing some mind boggling stuff. I too wanna involve myself in now. I am a IT professional and have working knowledge of JAVA. but i guess most of the programs here are windows based. Can someone, specially the senior members, throw some pointer, where shall i begin my learning venture to develop some WM programs.
Thanks

Hi All,
I have just bought a HTC HD2 with Windows Mobile 6.5. I am really pleased with it and just making a few adjustments. I have read numerous articles about installing Android but I am confused as to what flavour of Android my needs and I would really appreciate any guide into exactly ehat to do. As I don't fance hacking blindly at the phone.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Dave.
i'm fairly certain it can't run android (yet).
I am a little confused over what you mean hacking away at the phone? the HD2 cannot run android yet unless you plan to help in the dev of the android on that platform
Thanks for the replies. Once again I am getting ahead of myself. I'll wait and see.
hi, my name is dale. i have been a huge windows fan my whole life and just bought a new htc hd7. from my experience its similar to the iphone but doesnt compete with the new droid twin core phone. anyways, i fiddle with xna programming quite a bit, i can read it but not write it. on the xna platform there is also an option to compile to zunes format. i know those projects can be syncd onto my phone but what about actual app development? would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction? what software do i need to start learning? anyways, i would like to be a active member of this site, if anyone would like help with anything im sure i can hold down 2d and 3d tiles at the least.
looking forward to meeting all of you, your fav nublet ...

You didnĀ“t see enough...

Have a look on the off topic section
Hi,
I recently got a Galaxy Note and am in the early stages of working with Android and would like a separate engineering workstation PC for this.. I have dedicated PCs for studio/music and general/gaming.. but I also have a netbook laying around gathering dust.
So, as i have no idea what amount of horsepower is needed is a Netbook, running win7/32 a suitable machine for running Eclipse, the android SDK etc.. ?
thanks
My apologies, this should have been posted in Android development Q&A...
I used to develop VB apps in VB.6 and made a couple custom apps that I'd love to get running on my brand new, nearly virgin Surface RT.
I am really liking the Surface RT, and can't understand what some people have against it.
That being said, I'd love to try programming on VB for my new toy. Is anyone able to guide me through how to set this up? I got Visual Studio 2012, I've jailbroken and updated my tablet. I'm excited to begin but I am such a newbie to this "new generation" programming that I am unsure how to start and what I can get working.
Will my old VB app just run on RT? what do I need to do to convert it?
