Does anyone have an idea where to get the stickers like the one sown above (which is for a galaxy note). They should be avaiable because the stickers are already used in the official charging back covers.
anyone any clue if they will be made avaiable soon by some third party?

Why not just try one of the generic made-in-China ones available on ebay or alibaba?
Its the Qi standard, so as long as you match up the solder pads properly it will just work - doesn't matter that its made for a Samsung.
Typically you need to buy 100+ quantity from alibaba-listed companies, but if you setup a website or ebay store to make yourself look like a volume importer, you can request samples and can get 1-2 units at a time

Does anyone know if these stickers produce power to charge the battery when its placed on the charger, or is there additional hardware in the phone?

The phone just needs to be compatible with the Qi standard like the 820 is. More info here:

The sticker itself produces enough power to charge the battery no additional hardware required... It's charging with 700 mAh
You only need to connect sticker to the right connectors... so you will need some wires..
You can buy them on ebay...

The topic of the thread is to enable wireless charging with the standard cover.. i think he is well aware of the wireless charing cover..
It's thicker than the standard cover, or maybe someone uses a third party cover with a different color where wireless charging isn't available...
XDA is all about hacking

When you meter the wireless charging case you get going from the phone left to right -,-,?,+
What it appears to be is the outer of the four contacts is power from the shell to the phone. The inner is signal from the phone to the shell to let the charger know its full.
I have attached a picture to show the outer connectors from the prospective of the wireless shell. Maybe this may help, I have been thinking about doing this as well, I just haven't found a Qi pad I like and good way to support it in the shell.

I have been working on this for a while with the 820, its harder to take the stock Qi pad from lets say a S3 or S4 then just to buy the 25 buck charging case. That being said I was too cheap, So I spent 18 bucks on a QI pad, had my original black case milled out to put in a Carbon Fiber insert and then mounted everything on top of that. However in my hast, I totally forgot that Carbon Fiber is 1. a conductor and 2. it pretty much is an RF blocker. So now after spending like 30 bucks on something in my head I thought would look cool it turned out to be not functional. I had to then buy a new black case for like 9 bucks on Ebay, to start the project over again.
By the way, no phone company would make a phone with real Carbon Fiber. 1. its about 100 dollars per sq foot and 2. your signal will be worse then the iPhone 4 when you held it the "wrong way".

Evo 3D 3500mah battery + Sensation door

Has anyone tried buying an extended battery for Evo 3D and using the Sensation extended door?
Sensation Door+Extended battery
Oh yikes, I didn't see this thread a few months back.
Yes, I did. Unfortunately, I didn't consider that while the EVO3D and Sensation use the same batteries, they may be oriented differently... So a double battery for the EVO 3D ends up being backwards for the Sensation.
That said, I simply soldered two Ankers together and am using it with a supposed Mugen door I got on ebay for $20 shipped. Works great.
Lazas are cheaper, and while not as good as the Ankers, well worth it for the cost, and if you're doubling up, will still be great.
The only problem I ran into was that there's a little gap between the double battery and the Mugen case it seems, so if I'm walking around, the battery might move a little and lose contact for a split second, causing the phone to shut off. I taped some folded up paper and it hasn't been a problem since.
I originally used a quarter, but it was a little thick and caused the case to bow out a little so the volume buttons are off alignment.
I just taped the two batteries together with scotch tape and soldered the + and - of the two batteries.
I am imterested, can you post a picture of how you soldered them? Thanks

I ended up melting an excessive amount of plastic by the battery terminals because I did it a bunch of times (thought it was a bad connection, but it was because of the gap between the batteries and the cover) and I just plain suck at soldering (it's disgusting considering how much soldering I do).
I don't have a picture of my first go at it, but it looked "great."

Basically I just bridged the + and -. I used some thin gauge solid copper wire. Fluxed and tinned the terminals / wire and dabbed it on.
I taped a quarter on there and it prevents the phone from shutting off. But it's a little too thick. It causes the cover to bow a little so the volume buttons don't line up unless I press the cover in. A dime/penny may work better, or just fold up some paper.
My original plan to "deal" with the slight gap was to fit in a powermat module. I still might. Tap it into the usb port or maybe directly onto the battery if I can (and have space) to implement a charging circuit (maybe take apart a standalone charger and use that). Qi is the future, but the proprietary powermat stuff can be had on amazon for dirt cheap (I picked up a full unit for a droid of some sort for like $5). I got sidetracked and went back to juggling batteries and now have a N4. I gotta take the mainboard out and see if I can repair the usb port anyway, so maybe I'll tinker before selling.
Again, I'm extremely embarrassed by the absolute ****job soldering
I like it, nice, Thanks!

All Chinese Qi chargers are not the same (not that you thought they were..)

So after picking up my S5 and absolutely HATING the USB3 connector on it, I decided I would go to a wireless charger. Read reviews and everyone has a different opinion so I got what I could find easily on eBay.
I picked up a charger for my wife's S4 and my S5, though not from the same seller (Neither seller had charge cards for both phones)
Wife got a pink one (to match her Otterbox Defender....more on that in a minute) and I picked up a blue one for my S5
Hers arrived and I went to work putting in the card. Worked flawlessly even through the big Otterbox. Awesome!
Mine came a few days later. Put the card in my phone (no case) and plugged in the charger. First thing I notice is the light to let you know its plugged in is VERY dim compared to the wife's. Weird but ok. Put the charge card in and put it on the charger.....nothing. Move it around some...finally find the exact spot it needs to charge (which happens to be 180 degrees from how you use the phone) Just a slight touch and its not charging. Also noticed her charging indication light on the pad is green, the one on mine was a very, very dim red.
So, thinking its the charge card...I test with the pink Qi charger. Works fine no matter how I put it on.
Contacted the seller, they told me to take the case off my phone, after my initial complaint stated I do not use a case on my phone. That was it..all communication stopped after their first response. I eventually won the case and got a refund. Seller was "findmall".
Anyway, the wife found she doesn't use hers as much as she though so I swapped insides (I can't use a pink charger lol). Here are the pics...the one I ordered for mine (blue) looks quite a bit different, both in quality of the charge coil solder connections, and the circuit board. Both look identical on the outside other than color.
Hope this helps someone. The good charger came (very quickly) from "accmonster" on eBay and was about $3 more.
Pics of them opened up before the swap:

Inside comparison. Notice neatness of coil and different circuit boards.
Close up of the blue with bad solder joints and rough looking coil
Close up of the pink with different board, better solder joins, and nice coil
Back plates:
Should make it pink and blue lol

From my shopping I'd think there are very few factories actually making these things, My LuguLake one is very similar externally. It does work fine for all my Qi capable devices. Amazon/ebay sellers often have 8-10 Qi chargers, probably the same internals.
I also have a raw Qi transmitter ordered from China that works ok, very bright LEDs. I haven't installed it in a case or whatever yet but the LEDs are almost too bright. It is a different design from your 2.

Your LuguLake case looks similar (mine just doesn't have the LuguLake logo) on it but otherwise identical. Definitely not the same internals though, and man...that first coil is so nice and neat compared to mine lol

The coil was pictured as a separate piece on ebay, wired to the board. I was a little bummed to see it sandwiched as it doubles thickness making the existing car mount I wanted to mod not feasible with out weakening it to much. I may make a nightstand or desk top with it embedded. Need to test how well it works through a thin veneer. But it does work fine in basic testing.
The Lugulake QI charger has the identical back as yours also, gotta be same case maker and probably same factory.

If you have wireless charging, I can highly recommend the Nokia DT-910.
Furthermore, ATT.com is closing 'em out:
http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/ac...arging-stand-sku6290330.html#fbid=X3oNkaehCXw
Only $10 online if you can find a local retailer that has 'em in stock. I got mine about a week ago and love it. There's even an NFC tag in the base, though it's kinda hard to get it to trigger with many of the third party wireless charging cards.
Charger Stand
I wouldnt get a stand with charger in base, i already had bought one, and the floppy cover for usb doesnt extend all the way out. So basically u would have pop the port cover off everytime, or leave it off, buttttt run the risk of water gettin inside. Wireless charging is the way to go.

Yeah, I would like a stand but this is what I worry about. I see some stands have little extra space for the usb cover but that would require turning the floppy cover 180 degrees while I can safely turn it only 90 degrees. Sure, I can bend it more but I'm afraid (as I often use it in/near water and paid small fortune for the phone ).
Maybe I could buy something like this www.dx.com/p/2-in-1-charging-station-stand-w-battery-charger-for-samsung-galaxy-s5-black-317337 and "dremel" a hole next to usb port to keep the cover 90 degree.
EDIT: I guess I will end up with something like that http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Univ...for-iPhone-Samsung-Smartphone/1854869990.html as I already have similar stand for tablet.
i agree with the cover, it needs to point down, not 180 degrees. if down cases would also work when there is no chance to do 180 with the flap in a case.
Stand mentioned in my previous post. I think I'm getting another one to work.

Naztech Wireless Ultra Charging Pad (45 degree)

After trying out wireless charging with $5 puck off eBay I wanted to get myself something better. My requirements were: black, small, tilted and usb connector compatible stand. (So for me Tylt Vu is too long plus it doesn't have usb connector)
I decided to go with "Wireless Ultra Charging Pad" from Naztech (ordered from eBay for $50 + $15 shipping).
I received the charger just yesterday. Fortunately for me, the charger looks really similar to the render and I like the design. It looks like it was made for S5 - the optimal position is right in the middle. (I'm no expert but based on the positions I tried it looks like a 1-coil charger.)
Unfortunately the excitement got away quickly thanks to:
LEDs - It has two LEDs: red one (always on) and green one (for charging). The green one is lit when phone is charging. When charging finishes, it starts blinking. I was aware of them and they look discreen but I just hate leds, especially blinking ones which are not mentioned in description of $60 product and they cannot be turned off (well, black tape to rescue).
Beep - It beeps when charging starts. I read that Tylt Vu also beeps but do they really have to? I wouldn't buy it if I knew it is such long and high beep (again, it's not listed in product description). The worst is that the charger has no screws so muting the beeper isn't so easy.
Slipping - I have geniune back cover with QI receiver from Samsung but the 45 degree rubber pad just isn't able to hold the phone and it is traveling down with the speed of 1-2 cm per 5 minutes. This makes me very angry. S5 is listed as compatible. When I put there only the back cover itself it was also slipping (I'm not sure if I will bother uploading it). I also tried my tablet without Qi - LG G Pad 8.3 which has aluminium back but even this didn't help.
No response - Before ordering from eBay I was unable to use 20% discount from Naztech shop. I sent them email asking for help but never received a reply.
The only good thing is that I decided not to order two pieces (one for home, other to work). I'm afraid I will not be returning the charger because shipping would cost me significant amount of the charger cost and time. Also the eBay seller undervalued the package so I better don't want additional charges or other issues when sending it back.

Working attempt to stop the slipping (used some rubber bands):
I might also end up replacing the rubber pad with something better...
This makes me very angry, lmao.
There's so much more in life to get upset about. Go outside.
try searching for a charger from yijieneng, i've started a thread on this, it has what you are looking for.
I already got $15 charging orb. Phone sits wonderfully on it and makes no beeps so I ordered another one for work.

I was pleasantly surprised - it doesn't feel cheap at all, it's quite heavy and looks well made, at least the all black version I got ("Made in Korea" ). Also unlike other chargers ($5 puck or this Naztech) it doesn't make any buzzing during charging.

with most of the chargers, you can just remove the buzzer, but you can't do anything with the phone.

Montar Qi Universal Car Mount and Charger

I was fortunate enough for Winnergear to contact me to review their newest car mount and Qi charger, the Montar Qi.
I have been using this for the last three days and am entirely pleased with the product.
I have not been able to find any faults at all with the design or usage of this product.
I will answer any questions you may have as soon as I can about this product, just ask here or PM me.
This arrived to me well packaged and quickly direct from Winnergear.com.
It is listed on their site at $79.99 and to me is worth the price, however they are currently running a promotion that if you share product on facebook and or twitter you get $8.00 knocked off the price instantly.
Inside the box you will find:
The Qi charger/mount
The base for the charger
A sticky pad to apply to your dash
A lighter adapter for power
The instruction manual

The packaging is fairly basic, listing all the materials used and manufacturing location.
The instructions are easy to follow and well written.
Nothing too exciting here but I took pictures for you in case you are interested.
You have to attach the mount to the base, this is simply done by loosening the nut on the base and pressing it to the mount.
Then just tighten the nut finger tight.
The base has a suction cup on it that has a sticky gel in addition to the strong suction cup.
This should stick to most surfaces including slightly textured dash pads and your windshield.
For heavier textured dash pads there is the included sticky pad, just stick it to your dash and then use the suction cup on the mount to attach it to the pad.
This sticky pad uses high quality 3M double sided tape to stick and should work on anything.
Once this is together and installed in your vehicle, just plug in the included lighter plug and the mount is ready to use.
This mount is fully adjustable and should work with any Qi compatible smartphone.
This includes phones that officially support Qi charging and ones that have an aftermarket sticker of any kind.
I am currently using this charger with my LG G4 and LG v10 without any issues at all.
To adjust this mount to fit your smartphone, just press the button on the bottom back of the mount and the bottom feet will adjust up and down.
Use this adjustment to align the center of your phone's Qi receiving coil with the Qi symbol on the mount.
The arms that hold your phone locked into this mount are curved to hold your phone better than any other mount I have yet tried.
They are also large enough that they should hold your phone even with the thickest of cases on.
The arms on this mount are strong enough to hold your phone through even the bumpiest of roads.
I put my LG G4 in this mount and flipped it upside down and shook it as hard as I could to try to get it to come loose and could not get it to slip even a little bit.
Once you have this mounted all of the ports on your device should be easily accessible, the bottom arms are designed so that they should not obstruct any of the ports on your phone.
As soon as you place your phone on this Qi charging mount, it should start charging.
I have had no problems with heat buildup using this charger.
This will also trickle charge your device once it reached 100% charge and maintain that 100% charge.
Last, you are still able to use the camera of your smartphone while you have it connected to this charging mount.
If you would like to use your smartphone as a dashcam, you can easily do that without worrying about killing the battery in your phone.
This is easily a 10/10 product.
The price may seem a little steep to some, but if you think about what you are getting here, it is well worth it.
I would highly recommend the Montar Qi Car Mount.

I do have a USB meter, however I can not use that to test Qi charging, only wired.
I did use the Ampere app and it reported a maximum charge rate of 1040mA and an average of 820mA .
That is about standard for a Qi charger.
