Sorry for starting a new thread. I've looked but can't seem to find a straightforward answer. Sorry still noob.
I have a problem with my HTC Sensation Z710e- the Camera is not working
Solution: Send it to HTC since it is still under warranty.
Issue:
I am on S-ON, with HBOOT version 1.23.000, with a custom ROM. (Why I got S-ON with a custom ROM inside? Long story, believe me.)
Now, my Bootloader Screen says:
*** UNLOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.23.0000
eMMc-boot

I have the following information:
Model number: HTC Sensation Z710e
Android version: 2.3.5
Software Number: Elegancia_1.4.5
Kernel version: 2.6.35.13-gc35910f
[email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT Fri Sep 23 17:21:03 CST 2011
Baseband Version: 11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2
Build Number: 2.08.401.1 CL168617 release-keys
ClockworkMod Recovery v.5.0.2.0
CID = HTC__J15
MID = PG5813000
First question:
"Will I be able to flash a Stock ROM so I can send it back for repairs?"
Second question:
Does anybody know what is the stock ROM for my phone based on the following information:
CID = HTC__J15
MID = PG5813000
Bought in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Made in Taiwan
btw, would writing my IMEI compromise my phone security in any way?
I've tried the following ROMs and I got [ ERROR ]140: Bootloader Version Error, on all of them..
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_ARA_1.34.415.1_Radio_10.43a.9007.0 0U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_197242_signed.exe

I tried both in Bootloader and Lockscreen when I flash the RUU. [ ERROR ] 155 if its on Lockscreen. And yes, I've tried to flash when I was unlocked and then when I relock.
Third question:
Will I be able to remove the ***RELOCKED*** from the bootloader screen so that there will be no issues with warranty? How?
Or do I just bring my phone back to HTC and get it over with?
Thanks in advanced for the answers and sorry for the bother.
In this thread you can read how to S-ON it back. I would definitely S-ON it and flash official firmware+ROM before going to service. Considering RUU version, honestly I do not know, but I would try one of those:
RUU_Pyramid_hTC_Asia_TW_1.35.709.1_Radio_10.43a.9007.00U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_198188_signed.exe

Stock ROMs collection can be found here (link from this thread).
I'm running (badly, it's very crash-y) an HTC One X (evita) with CM10.2 and I would like to: a) SIM unlock the phone from AT&T, and then b) send it to my sister on the Telus network in Canada for her to use. I wanted to consult this forum before doing anything else.
Elsewhere on this forum it says I need to return it to stock ROM to correctly unlock the SIM, and that's no problem, here's my BOOT information:
Code:
*** UNLOCKED ***

So, here's the questions I have:
1) Do I need to return to STOCK ROM before unlocking or is some other method going to work?
2) Do I just do "fastboot oem lock" and then run the RUU, or do I need to do something more [with SuperCID, S-OFF, etc. as above]?
3) What RUU should I use for my sister on Telus in Quebec?
Thanks in advance!
Dave
1. You can use an RUU but usually any Sense ROM should be ok. If you're giving it to someone with no experience with modified phones I'd suggest you RUU and leave it that way though. Also relock the bootloader and change the CID back to stock.
2. You're s-off so you don't need to relock the bootloader at all when running an RUU.
3. All available RUUs can be found at Androidruu.com, just make sure it's an Evita one.
Sent from my Evita.
Hello,
Obviously, I have a HTC One SV that I bought second-hand and it came custom modded / custom firmware.
I am a newbie regarding Android or HTC modding. I know my way around computers, linux included.
I tried to do this on my own, but there's a lot of terminology like S-ON/OFF, hboot v1.x..., recovery this, custom that and it all seems a mess. This is not well documented at all.
If someone would be kind enough to tell me what I need to do to go back to stock (as close as possible), I would very much appreciate.

Still up...
Well, i don't describe this way everyday (or second day) again and again...
In short sentence: get S-off with moonshine.io, get supercid with fastboot command and then follow my guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386426
About the technical questions (what is S-off or fastboot) you will find your answer, if you make search on xda or google.

Ok, so I've checked moonshine, but the version is a missmatch.
Moonshine says it needs for the k2_u: 2.14.401.107 and I have 2.14.401.6
Thanks!
%edit: wierd thing, my phone has LTE (at least it appears in the "Mobile data -> Network mode" menu), shouldn't it be k2_ul?
%edit #2: I checked *#*#4636#*#* > Phone information and the selected "mode" is GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto. There's LTE ony available, if that counts for anything.
You have a k2ul rom on your phone (i guess, it Saturn III). But that does not bring you Lte (even when its available in options).
It is a k2u, when it is written in the bootloader.
Hm, i'm not sure, which version to use in this case.
But you should be able to install stock k2u rom with Twrp recovery. Make a backup and and full wipe before.
Also flash SuperSu.zip, you need root for moonshine. Then use the moonshine version for k2u.
All what you need, you'll find if you follow the link in my signature, in my index thread.

Should i go with
TWRP 2.7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41456540#post41456540
or
TWRP 2.6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357107 - the download links are dead, but I've found them elsewhere, although I'm not sure they are ok.
Thanks a lot!
This one should be good to go with you hboot: http://d-h.st/NXX

Ok, done (had some problems with fastboot, everything ok now).
I did the backup and removed the SDCard (paranoia) and now I want to do the full wipe.
Should I do the Factory Reset (Wipes Data, Cache and Dalvik .android_secure) or an advanced wipe and check everything?
What ROM should I flash?
%edit:
Is this OK?

Advanced, and tick everything except int & ext sdcard.
Rom should be ok.

Ok, I've installed that ROM, but now the wi-fi doesn't power on.. it says "turning on..." and after a while, it says "error".
Should I proceed with Moonshine?
Did you flash boot.img in fastboot mode?

That fixed it. My bad...
One question, after getting to complete stock, can I do S-on back?
Yes, you can. But first get S-off. Then the next step.

So I had to switch PC-s and I'm now sitting at a 8.1 desktop. I'm trying to setup adb and fastboot. Be right back with moonshine preparations.

Nice
Now look into your bootloader: If it is ***LOCKED*** and you don't see "Tampered" and the system is completely stock (no root or Superuser or something) you can set your device S-On again.
But at least there is no need for atm. If you get in trouble, S-off is the better way if it needs to be rescued.

It was locked, no tampered flag!
I unlocked it, TWRP 2.7.x recovery and rooted. I'm gonna leave it S-OFF and create a backup (nandroid), afterwards, removing useless stock apps like chrome, google music player, finances, stocks, etc
Hi,
I just swap my G3 with this E8 (which I really like), and I want to install a custom recovery on it. When I'm going to bootloader mode it says:

What do I have to be aware of this info to make the right steps for unlocking and installing custom rom and also if I want to revert to stock (is it enough if I'm doing a full backup with custom recovery then to restore it whenever I want? )

you have already unlocked your bootloader, now you can flash any recovery (CWM is recomended) so there is nothing to worry about if your planing to flash custom ROM's. Reverting to stock, you need a stock recovery and a suitable RUU, that's it I think
thanks for your answer. Do you know where can I find a proper RUU for my device?
Also, can you help me out with a link for CWM?
P.S. I bought the E8 as new, so it came already unlocked.

VZW sent me a new phone and sim to troubleshoot an issues I was having with getting 4G Coverage. Turns out the SIM card needed to be replaced. I am sending in my old phone and went through the steps to get the phone back to stock. After applying the RUU I attempt to switch s-off to s-on. After doing this my bootloader has "Software status: Modified". I messed up the restoration as I did not lock the bootloader prior to putting s-on. I just want to make sure VZW does not have an issue with the Modified banner in the bootloader. Do I need to be S-off to changed the Modified banner? Seems getting your phone s-off on firmware 4.4.4 has become harder, I tried Sunshine and it stated a know issue prevent the application from working.

I wouldn't send it I with the modified banner and I don't think there's any way to remove it I your state. I would think your best bet is till hope that sunshine 3.0 works for you when it's released. I feel like that is unlikely however.

Thanks Modified message went away via relocking the bootloader and flashing your S-On RUU. Bootloader now reads **Software status: Official ***. Do you think VZW would have a problem with the *** Relocked *** flag thath appears in my bootloader now?
I have a similar case. I tried to root my M8x (Asian Variant ) with Kingoroot app which fails. Sunshine was unable to get the temp root on my device before attempting the rooting with this app. Unfortunately in the fastboot menu I saw Software Status modified and Locked.
During the booting after I have a black screen of 3 seconds between the first white screen and the HTC one animation.
Factory resetting the M8 didn't change the situation
Thanks in advance
