FAQ
Q: Why don't I have LTE?
A: If you did a clean flash you will need to turn off data and turn it back on, or wait a bit.
Q: Why cant I send MMS?
A: If MMS doesn't work, try deleting the 2 APNs that are not "ATT LTE"
Q: Wakelocks?
A: Stop using Facebook.. Google Maps causes wakelocks too, but not as badly.
Flashing an OTA update
1. Open GooManager and "Browse Compatible ROMS"
2. tap on "mirGantrophy"
3. Navigate to /evita/miui/aosp
4. Choose the OTA file you want to flash. Flash them in order, IE. flash v1, then v2.
5. Go back to the main menu on GooManager and tap "Flash ROMs"
6. Choose the OTA's you want to flash, You can add multiple ones in queue, but make sure v1 flashes, then v2 flashes. Check the "Wipe Cache/Dalvik" option and tap "Flash"

Lol, like cm10 has hardware keys remapping? IE hold back button for 3 seconds to turn flashlight on. That's what we mean.

I'm gonna keep a close eye on this. I need a stable working phone for work though. Nice to see miui is getting some love for the hoxl. Keep up the good work guys.

When MIUI updates today, im going to add in hardware mapping, 4.2 camera, 4.2 keyboard, try and fix back lights, and add a few apps in /system/app like Terminal Emulator and Titanium backup.. and rohan's kernel since it will be based on the 12/07/12 cm10 nightly, so it'll work with it

I've been using my nexus 4 as my daily driver so my HTC one x will be on this ROM. Let me know if you need any help with anything!

I'm really looking forward to the hardware mapping and the 4.2 camera and keyboard. I ignored the warning about 4.2 gapps not working right and installed them anyway. The keyboard and camera seem to be working fine. I'm having problems with the Play Store. I'm assuming it's my fault for using the wrong gapps.
I don't really care for pre-installed system apps, but it's your ROM. So, do what you want.
Other than the things listed in the OP, everything things seems to work smoothly. Good work!

It's about as stable as cm10. Most of the bugs are either on cm10's end or MIUI's end. MIUI is working on releasing v5 to try and fix the bugs on MIUI's end.

Could you flash another gapps and see if the play store works? I'm curious about this. Although, it could be user error.

It was indeed user error. I just got done wiping and starting over. Everything was fine the second time with 4.2 gapps. I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time. Next time I'll try it twice before posting anything.

No biggie, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem with it. I flashed 4.2 gapps yesterday before release and it worked fine.

NOTE: THIS IS NO LONGER A ROM. IT IS PURELY A SCRIPT TO FLASH OVER ANOTHER CM9 BUILD WHICH WILL THEN STRIP IT TO BAREBONES. DONT FLASH THIS ON ITS OWN!!
Introducing Sharpy STRPT CM9. WARNING: Flashing this script will cause your CM9 build to become STRPT, this mean faster, more memory and better battery!
I realised i dont use many native apps, instead choosing to install my own apps from the market or other sources. This means all the native apps do is take up space on my device. If you are the same then maybe, just maybe, this script is the one for you!

Afetr flashing this script the resulting ROM is not meant to be used 'as is'. You should install your own versions of apps such as gallery and sms.
Features:
Fully stripped for more memory and speed
New boot animation
Its probably easier to list the things that are left rather than what ive removed!
Calendar
Camera
Clock
People
Phone (Dialer)
There's probably more that ive forgotten but ill update when i remember!

There is a STRPT version of GAPPS below. This ONLY includes Market and Gmail. All other Gapps should be downloadable from the market.

I'll probably fix a few things in the guide since there's some issues that have been reported.
You can compile Cyanogen without the bit's you don't want
Just edit the .mk files in ~/android/system/build/target/product/ and remove the ones you don't want
Noted new (3.30) firmware released 22.02.12 and new Vorbeth build requires it.

functionality
would you please list what is working and what is not.
I do like the idea of a naked ROM, since most of stock apps i replace in the zip file before flashing on the phone.
since any OS is just a layer between the hardware and user applications, it would be nice to know that all hardware is working as expected.
particular questions about WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS lockup time, battery life
on GB I has posted question about WiFi connectivity - would be nice to compare it now
and btw calendar app might be removed as well - I like the alternative one.
love the idea of this rom. hope you keep updating as cm9 continues updating.
Love the idea too!
Before I flash ii, how can I
-get stock keyboard and remove current one?
-add music and gallery from CM9(do I need only apk's or I need some other libs ?)

Ill make some flashable zips containing original ime, cm9 music and cm9 gallery. To get rid of the keyboard currently in the rom either delete the Thumb_Keyboard_v1_5_1.apk from the zip, before you flash the rom, then flash it, then flash the standard ICS keyboard ill upload in a bit. The other way is to flash the standard ICS keyboard zip and then uninstall thumb keyboard using titanium.
Gallery, Music and original ICS keyboard flashable zips are now in post 2 under 'Add-ons'
To remove thumb keyboard use Titanium backup.

So no need to remove any(or add for new one) libs?
It is easier for me to remove it from zip and/or add what is needed

No problem. Let me know what you think of the rom!
I like this idea a lot so I figured I would try it out. My first negative is for some reason my home button does not work. It vibrates when I press it but it will not take me to the home screen or bring up the recent app list.
Other than that its great! Very speedy. I like the idea of being able to use my own apps.
EDIT: Also the lock screen doesnt work. Did you remove it?
Thats weird. My home button works perfectly as does the lockscreen. I take it you did a full wipe etc first?
Also check md5 of your download: V0.03 is 624644f5b063604bd3e6d7841c5b5b8c

only issues for me were not being able to mount and not being able to get into storage to see available space in settings. just gives message android.process.media has stopped and then settings has stopped. other than that the rom is great! very smooth and looks awesome!
oh and under performance the processor voltage just shows error getting values when tapped on. this is everything i've noticed so far..only been on rom for about five minutes.
Thanks for all the hard work!

I've also noticed that in the notification power widget, the LED flashlight option is grayed out and can't be activated.
Another thing. I can't get the search bar to bring up Google Now. Not sure if this is a ROM issue or an app issue, but worth bringing up.
Also, again, this may not be ROM related, but none of my music players are detecting mp3s on my external SD card. I've tried PowerAmp, Apollo, and the stock, but none are working.

It should be the same problem of the storage in the settings it's not mounting so the mp3 isn't being read.
Could be. Although I also noticed that the sdcard does get mounted in root explorer. But that seems to be the only place its accessible.

[UPDATED]Just flashed the ROM. So far so good!!! Everything is smooth, and I'm about to do some tests.
Tried Update Me (says V2.9.0 is out) won't download. Has no random reboots so far! super smooth with no lag whatsoever! For some reason Play Store says Netflix, Nova Launcher, and YouTube aren't compatible with my device, so I downloaded them off the internet. They work flawlessly, if not better than any ROM I've tried before. If Update Me would start working this ROM will be one of the best for this phone. Great job man! If there's anything else you'd like tested I'll be happy do so. Lightning Kernel perhaps?

If there's anything else you'd like tested I'll be happy do so. Lightning Kernel perhaps?

Odd. I haven't had the ad card issues on any other ROM (none of the cm9 or cm10 builds or paranoid android). I'm back to cm10 at least until the connect to PC issue is fixed.
Also, I tried lightning kernel a little. Had it running about 6 hours with no issues before I flashed cm10 again.

That's strange.. CM10 only picks up my music when I put it on internal, and same goes for Slim Bean. I'm currently back to CM10 until a fix comes out for downloading apps from the market. All mainstream apps (Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, Maps, etc.) come up as "Your device isn't compatible with this version." :/ maybe I need to update the ROM, but I found no way of doing so. I would just backup my current apps, but I'm running out of memory because they backup to internal -.-
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T769 using xda premium
I've noticed that SlimRoms.net doesn't have our device down as supported. I believe this is why Update me isn't functioning. It may be picking up an update to another device (since this is still Build 1) and I'm still only able to download most apps off of the internet. Lightning Zap kernel is amazing with this ROM if anyone is interested
I'll post screenshots below of the errors/issues.

Well for one this rom is still an unofficial build so its not going to be supported on the site yet..

Yep it's unofficial and I'm working on fixing that market issue as well for next update

I've created a MIUI port based on CM10 nigthlies. Feel free to give it a try and please let me know if there are issues with it.
Please keep in mind that all existing CM10 bugs apply here as well
iMilka's CM10 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968949
INSTALLATION
Follow the instruction explained @ iMilka's thread when flashing this port.
WARNING: Flashing a custom kernel might break a bunch of things if it comes with it's own initramfs
If You prefer a custom kernel, the following service needs to be added to the init,smdk4x12.rc file:
service shelld /system/xbin/shelld
class main
The easiest way to do it is by using dsixda's Android Kitchen. Unpack the boot.img and edit
the init.smdk4x12.rc file. You'll find it in the root of the boot.img-ramdisk folder.

How about posting your version on http://en.miui.com forum? Would be a huge userbase there

Someone please post a video, I'd love to see this in action. Don't have a note yet (would flash myself if I did..), but would love to see how MIUI looks on it.

Yep i've already pushed it, and Utacka has uploaded a fix somewhere in his thread.
By the way, please, report any problems with hardware (e.g. not working nfc/mic in video recording/sth else) in my CM10 thread - that will allow me to track problems easier.

i can confirm that NFC is working with patch. Maybe you can make a new build with last weeks MIUI version so people can enjoy theme support until this bug/"feature" is fixed.
Here is some more information on the theme issue:
http://droidviews.com/2012/beware-of-2-11-2-black-friday/
Installed today, nice so far.
After flashing Gapps I still don't have Gmail. Maybe I'll try to flash it again. Am I the only one here?
Hope Miui China will come up with a neat solutions for people outside China to use Themes outside of the miui theme market. But as MIUI is a company and provided MIUI absolutely free, it is completely OK that they implement a reliable business model. I don't complain...
Workarounds:
Camera limited to 5MP. Solution: flash 4.2Camera_t04.zip from here http://d-h.st/aIy

Wow, thanks!
Didn't know that google starts to push more and more apps from Gapps to the market: Calendar, Gmail, Maps, ... Soon we don't need Gapps anymore.
Bug:
Before I flashed MIUI I removed my ext-SDCard. Then I flashed MIUI and booted up my device. Then, while MIUI was running I inserted my ext-SDCard, it mounted successfully in MIUI as /storage/sdcard1/.
I can browse it with Solid Explorer, but the "Media Storage" Service does not index any Media from the SDCard. I have MP3s, Pictures and APKs on my ext-SDCard. But neither the Miui Music nor other Players are showing it.
Under Settings > Storage there is only "INTERNAL STORAGE" visible. The external SDCard isn't visible.
What I tried:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Media Storage > Force stop & Clear data, then reboot and wait 1 hour
- While phone is running open back cover and remove the ext-SDCard (system said: Removed storage unexpectedly) then insert the SDCard again,
Anyone with a similar problem or some tips to get my "External storage" back properly?

Thats very strange i havent got the same issue everything is working fine here. Did you do a factory reset and wipe system before flashing? And a wipe of dalvic cache and cache after flashing?
I didn't test the sdcard cause I don't have one yet. Will pick up one today and get back to you Did the CM10 file explorer display the external sdcard? If it doesn't then please post it in imilka's thread, thanks

Paranoid + Aokp + Cyanogen = PACman
ROMs are compiled from source for Xperia Ray which is a msm7x30 device and is ported to Doubleshot [Mytouch 4g Slide] . This is a minimal port but with a lot of work done. It is still based on AOSP+CM source codes. The ROM packs all the tweaks from the three super ROMs into one.

ADDITIONAL UI CHANGE FAQs
Global density :
Is the one used by your hardware configuration and all non PAD touched applications. It's the old one that you can change with build.prop, and this one can get you outside of tablet mode - Phone mode. Don't touch it if you dont know what you're doing. This one has nothing to do with PAD or PAL, as it's the one designed by google.
Default SystemUI DPI :
User interface density, can be reflected on statusbar, Recent apps, etc. This one can't get you outside of your current mode.
Default User DPI :
Is the one used when your app is not on pad.prop list, so when you run a new app that it's installed by you, and not on /system/app, it will run at this density. This one cant get you outside your current mode neither.
Some Other Facts :
You can't change framework dialogs (like when you hold power button) density on tab mode yet, don't waste your time (it's limited from 120 to 128 global density so it's not a huge difference)
Keyboard must be on the same global density, for tablet mode (i have not tried phone mode)
Disable Settings>System>Statusbar>Auto Hide statusbar
If you see the dock on launchers in tablet mode, and not the old layout, this is NORMAL, it was ugly before, and now it's preset to phone mode at 240 density. If you want to get the old ugly tablet mode for launchers, go to settings > paranoid > hybrid settings > list apps, select your launcher, put density to 120-140 and put in on tablet mode
I'm not the responsible that some apps, being on phone mode, and setted up to tablet mode looks ugly. Google is. Go blame google!
The message that appears every time that you change DPI or layout mode for any app IS NORMAL, we put in there so changes can be applied, APP IS NOT FORCE CLOSING, we're asking you to force close, please read at least!

Wow, a three-in-one?! This seemed rad to pass up. Running pretty smooth so far. A lot of redundancy in the settings but that's to be expected. The keyboard is the work-around version which is fine for now. I'm loving the AOKP nav bar. Works so well compared to other nav bars that I've tried to use in other roms. You don't have to restart your phone to change it, which is awesome! I can't believe all these settings work together. Well done Matt/Strapped! This is a damn good port and surprisingly free of bugs for a first release

Yeah the settings are doubled up, but this is a power house IMHO. If you want AOKP just disable all Paranoid settings and setup through AOKPs ROM control or vise versa. This AOSP is the best I've seen so far and not because me and matt done it, because its 3 ROMs in one all of which I love...

I tried this method, but still show KB error.
But, my method is:
- using Titanium backup you can freeze/disable android keyboard,
- Install soft keyboard app, such as Swype, touchpal, swiftkey etc,
- Use keyboard app you installed above as default,
- Disable hardware keyboard,
This method will work even after reboot, it's stick nicely, you may try.
Anyway, this is awesome ROM, thaks to you Matt and/or strapped :highfive:

I've tried to install that patch, during install there's message about changing framework. when booting, there is't PACman boot logo, but android stock logo, i've waited 10 minutes and stuck at boot logo, my guess it's NOT working, i am not sure if i have to wait longer.

Thats why I link full jellybean gapps. So the error for KB stops. I'll have matt link them.

If you mean KB fix from this post PA 2.54 Keyboard Fix
I've tried to install that patch, during install there's message about changing framework. when booting, there is't PACman boot logo, but android stock logo, i've waited 10 minutes and stuck at boot logo, my guess it's NOT working, i am not sure if i have to wait longer.

Welcome to the unofficial CyanogenMod 10 nightlies
The releases will co-inside and the build start time is at 03:01 UTC every SUNDAY night and should be uploaded soon after. If at anytime the builds are not there, then there was a problem building the ROM, and we will have a look at it ASAP.
CyanogenMod 10.1 builds are available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092937. The buildbot resources are beeing used for other projects and/or CM10.1 builds

These builds are compiled from the latest CyanogenMod repos and device repos on device and vendor files.
Furthermore these builds are multiDPI, i.e. you can run the rom at any dpi between 160 and 240 while having hi-res assets.
The boot images are signed and a custom kernel is included:
https://github.com/milaq/android_kernel_lge_p940/commits/jellybean
Initial install
Make sure you are updated to stock LG ICS update (v20d) prior flashing the first time.
And remember to wipe data/cache
(These steps need only to be done once. Later updates can be just flashed over an existing installation without the need of a wipe)
For a list of what is working and what not, see the second post.
And as always: I take no responsibility whatsoever for raging, screaming, crying, frustration, failing, confusion, etc.
You need to have a custom recovery installed in order to flash these builds;
e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859662

Tip: If you want to have your density settings persist over updates and don't want to edit build.prop with every update, use local.prop.
create a file named local.prop in your /data root (i.e. /data/local.prop) with the following contents (overrides ro.sf.lcd_density in build.prop):
Code:
qemu.sf.lcd_density=160

you should update to v20d(ics) first, then root it and flash this cm10 in recovery mode
by the way, thanks milaq! you're awesome!:good:
So future developments on CM9 will stop? And you will continue CM10?
Thanks btw, hope caller echo has been fixed.
EDIT: Im currently running CM9, should I reflash back to stock ICS?

nah, just apply the cm10 update and you should be ready to go.
you might have to wipe data under special circumstances but that happens rather seldom. try it without any wipe first.

Yup, already figured that out, all else fails, back to cm9 recovery then flash cm10 then wipe data & cache, TTBackup the apps and all fine then comes the Gapps, too many force closes encountered, will try to clean again from CM9 then install CM10 then Gapps.
Sorry for that, already figured it out!
Anyway I already felt the "buttery" smoothness of JB + CM Rom! Fantastic.
EDIT: Oh I almost forgot, the caller echo has been minimized, but it still echoes, loudspeaker at call option is still not present, Auto Brightness seems a little buggy, it works on startup then stops. But all in all, it still the JB + CM stands out.

chinese operator name can not be displayed (only english name now), the content in spn-conf.xml should be following:
<spnOverride numeric="46000" spn="中国移动"/>
<spnOverride numeric="46001" spn="中国联通"/>
<spnOverride numeric="46002" spn="中国移动"/>
<spnOverride numeric="46003" spn="中国联通"/>
<spnOverride numeric="46006" spn="中国联通"/>
<spnOverride numeric="46007" spn="中国移动"/>
hope you can spare your time for fixing this, thanks! :good:

I had the same problem, i.e force closing. Data and Cache wipes after the occurrence of the problem didn't help. Finally flashed CM9, flashed Gapps for ICS, wiped data, rebooted, flashed CM10 & Gapps, wiped Data, reboot. May be wiping data twice doesn't make sense, but did it coz I didn't want to redo everything in case it failed.

Hi Milaq, Thanks for the CM10 update.
Tried CM10 nightly builds of 16th & 17th. Observed the following:
1) DATA Toggle button missing from Notification drawer. It was present in CM9.
2) Both USB & WiFi tethering are not working in CM10, the DHCP lease option is also missing. WiFi tethering was working well in CM9.
3) The TORCH application is now working in CM10, it wasn't working in CM9.
Otherwise the system was found to be working smoothly.
Kindly look into the first 2 issues, when ever you have time.
thanks for the feedback.
1) this is an upstream change. i'll see what i can do.
2) yip, working on it.
3) the omap camera adapter is now properly built, good to have that handy torch back eh?
does anyone get a gps lock? i'm currently fiddling around with the RIL's at commands and any feedback would be nice (or even a logcat of a gps init)
gps
well ppl,
gps seems to be fixed.
phew, what a ride. i was already pulling my hair out, because i couldn't reproduce the issue.
it seems like ril/gps are accessing /data/cache by creating a file (3gpp.socket). this folder is only present if you had cm9 20121105 or older installed and never wiped data. this dates back to an early commit of mine (https://github.com/milaq/android_device_lge_p940/commit/fc74ab2fcb7f541356b8248a0a263ea9feb9cd40)
i corrected this issue and gps should be fully functional as of tonights build.
pls report back in case it doesnt work.
cheers
Hey Milaq, thank you so much for a very fast rom. Howervee few quirks i have observed
1. The camera app is missing on mine. I flashed your cm 10 build coming from the last version of your cm9 and i noticed the camera app is missing?
2. As said above, torch already works
3. I find it faster than the cm9 generally so good work here
GPS works fine!great!:victory::highfive:
Yup data enabling si gone on notification drawer, lux auto brightness is working perfectly but the system auto brightness I think is not working? Or is it just me?

nah, camera is still there. if you are searching for camera.apk you wont find it. the cam interface is now included in the gallery.
