Screen Protector? - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

I am coming to this phone after using an Xperia Ion by Sony. Sony includes a screen protector on that model. Does HTC do that with their phones or do I need to buy one?

HTC 8x has gorilla glass 2 so it is pretty tough. But does not come with any foil. If you feel like you need one you can buy it from ebay for 1 $.

I figured as much. I already had some ordered. This is a great phone so far. I'm very happy that I bought it.

Screen protectors for desire s?

just ordered my desire s (finally after a 2 month wait!)
looking for any reccomendations for screen protectors?
prefably want a hard wearing long lasting one.
anyone use the official htc ones? any good?
or should i settle for the full body coverage invisible shield? (used them in the past)
cheers!
i use the one included on otterbox, its actually very good, still has not a single scratch since i bought it 2 months ago
Same goes for the protectors included with Case-Mate cases. They feel as smooth as the glass they protect which I think is important. The cheap ones just add friction, and are a pig to apply without fluff bubbles!
Case-mate ones can also be bought separately with out a case.

I don't use screen protectors at all. Desire-S has Gorilla glass on top of the screen.

That is a good point. Is gorilla glass good enough to not require a screen protector?
I have one on my desire s to be safe rather than sorry but I'd be interested to know what people think....

I tried the official htc ones and they both ended up in the bin! For some reason the type of film they use is different, as the act of peeling the backing off super-charges the thing up with static. Every dust particle in the room rushes to stick to it. Had no such problems with the several case mate ones I've applied.

I think i shall settle for a imnisible shield full protector, as i like to use my phone bare without any casing
(occasionally using a case)
Just waiting for the phone to arrive tommorow morning!!!
I bought the original HTC on ebay , very cheap about 5€ , in the shop they are 10€ !
This is a thick film , very scratch resistant !!! easy to apply , no air bubbles whatsoever, very clear film and me very happy.
Not using a film is looking for trouble, okay, it's gorilla glass , but i hear of people who managed to scratch this to, so spend a little money and keep the screen scratchfree !!

i dunno if i want to shell out on the 16 quid invisible shield just yet..
brando ultra clear.
it will probably last longer than your phone.
You can buy it quite cheap from a company called wexim, in France (google it)
I have been using it for years now, on all my PDAs and phones. They are reallt great.

I have the invisible shield on my HTC Desire (Looking to get the Desire S in the next month or so), the invisible shield is good, but I have been sort of disappointed by it.
I had another phone in my pocket one night (Nokia 6300) and the camera part must have pressed against the screen and has left a permanent indentation on the invisible shield screen protector. It is a good protector, but also it is the most tedious protector I have ever applied, you really do have to "stretch" the protector when applying to get it to sit nicely.
Its your choice, but I would really think about it for a little while longer before you put your money down on an invisible shield protector.
As far as what I've read though, I've got a feeling my protection plan when it comes to the Desire S will involve a Case-Mate barely there case ... when they're in stock again from Australian suppliers.

Yeh, i have used the universal invisible shiel on my tg01 before (i custom cut it for the screen)
Had it on since september, has lasted very well, no peelings anywhere, but it has scratches on it
So i guess they aren't really 'indestructable, scratch proof' as claimed on their website!
But they still hold out very well compared to other standard screen protectors.
When you had it on your desire, was it still possible to use a case aswell? Did it add much thickness?
I wouldnt mind if there was another type of protector, mainly, i want to protect the back of the desire (aluminium casing etc) from scrathes.
The only manufacturer that offers a thin/screen protector is invible shield.
Are there any other manufacturers that make films/screen guards for the back of the desire s??
Thanks for your contribution!

What other screen protectors can I use

What other phone screen protectors can I use? I live in the land of no HTC accessories unless you have a One Series, iPhone, BB, or SGSIII, or even Nokia. Are there any other screen protectors made for different phones that will fit this one?

And yet they won't stick to the screen
Just buy one on amazon.com
There's a good one from kwmobile or AtFolix
The best ive found is Skinomi techskin. Its a wet application so you cant use phone for a day but it fits well including edges. Takes about 3 or 4 days for all the bubbles to disappear but worth the wait
http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi-TechSkin-Protector-Sensation-Lifetime/dp/B005OZHJYQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=mobile&ie=UTF8&qid=1348166294&sr=1-4&keywords=sensation+skinomi

i got these couple of weeks ago. it fits very well and very nice. i wish it was anti-glare and anti-fingerprint. but thats what you get from a clear screen protector
Skinomi is by far the best protector out there! Great product great price!
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.
I use the official HTC ones SP P450.
You can get them pretty cheap and if you heat them with a hair dryer before applying they are very easy to fit and stick down very well.
Had some cheap ebay ones and they were rubbish.
Phil
I never used screen protectors on my sensation. Dropped my phone face down a few times, but still there's not even a single, little problems with screen. Sensation has the best durable gorilla glass screen I have ever seen. No scratches..

SKINOMI is the best screen protector I've ever tried! Drys crystal clear, self healing, life time warentee, no yellowing, won't interfere with delicate touch screen, completely invisible! Simply awesome! Do a wet install and the next day it's like glass! I'll NEVER use anything else! Great price too! It's really different. It won't disappoint! You will love it! Bought one for my uncle's phone too and next day after install he called me up and couldn't believe how great it was! It looks like glass! I highly recommend it!

No cover or screenguard, been using like this for over a month. Barely a scratch on the back (after a biiiiig fall). That's about it. And I'm a rough user.
No cover. Just a screenguard. Even that's not for L specifically, got it cut.

I use a hard case (got it from eBay), its rubberized but not too much, has a great grip, was around Rs. 400... and the best part: it is shaped almost like the back cover of the XL, along with its curve!
But yeah, the thickness is substantially increased, though now it fits perfectly in my hands, it may not be the same for everyone!

Bared.. just putted it inside an old sunglasses pouch.. Also, I bought a matte screen protector from a mall here in our city, but it is not dedicated for XL.. it's from Galaxy Note, and they are just more than willing to cut it to fit the screen of my Xperia.. Did not regret it..my XL is sleek(though the screen protector is not that lovely, just fine.. )
sorry for the low resolution, used only my X8 to capture.. haha!and sorry for the big size..:crying:

Well, this one doesn't have a screen protector, but it's supposed to be shock absorbing and such: http://www.amazon.com/LK-Protection...UTF8&qid=1443930217&sr=1-7&keywords=xperia+z5

Yes, indeed.
I got a response from the Sony support. They write, I sent the phone and case so they could look at this. They promise that if the case is actually the cause of it is covered by the warranty. I do not know whether it will repair or replacement. On Monday I'm going to send phone and let you know how it goes.

I've ordered the SCR42, will keep an eye out on the scratching,
Was it on the window are where the scratches where?
Hi,
I have the Orzly Fusion Bumper, this one is quite interesting for those who want a real bumper, and don't mind having thick edges, the screen is never in direct contact with the surface (when the phone is turned upside down). I find it quite un-ergonomic, I can't hold well the Z5.
I also order the Orzly FlexiSlim, this one will protect the back for sure, but no the screen anymore. However, it looks very thin (like a second skin layer).
Those two are temporary, because I'm waiting for Case-Mate to release the "Barely There" case for the Xperia Z5. I already have one for my Z1 and its gorgeous and very ergonomic.

I've used for Z3. Excellent case, although a little big and visible. I used while climbing in the mountains and trekking. Perfectly protect your phone from bumps and scratches. I've never used it in the city. I take care of device and there was no need to protect it so hard in the city.

One thing I hate about screen protectors is how hard they are to apply. Its one of the reasons I look for the best ones because they are usually worth it after applying.
I ordered two types from aliexpress, they both sucked.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001412083036.html
The clear one had clarity issues and the cutouts did not make any sense.
The full coverage one had to be placed really high up the phone for it to line up, leaving a gap at the bottom and even then the holes did not line up correctly, blocking some of the sensors and part of the notification LED.
I use this one https://www.amazon.de/dp/B09FPBL9ZN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_YME021WDPN1XK13G76NR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The screen is full covered, but Not the complete Front. Clarity is perfect, cutouts are perfect.
Went with Spigen
Mr. Shield was too narrow and I failed to install it straight enough, so it'd always leave part of the screen uncovered. Gave up on it.
I use Supershiedz that I get from Amazon. The fit and when the oleophobic coating wears off I put a new one on.
