why not just download the stock rom on you pc then put it on the sd card then put the sd card in your tablet?
I recommend using twrp 2.5.0.0-4.2 instead of 2.6 if you have fastboot that is. It mounts external SD just fine. Tap the internal storage box and you should be able to change to microsd.

Your problem description is not very clear.
Are you saying that your USB port (which one: micro USB for adb, or the standard slot for USB peripherals?) isn't working, and that you want to install something using your external SDcard?

1. Do you want to install the ROM from the external SD card to the standard partitions on the NAND flash and internal SD card?
OR
2. Do you want to install your ROM from the external SD card to non-standard partitions--like on the external SD card itself?
The first is very easy. Most ClockworkMod versions will let you choose a zip file from the external SD card.
The second option is will need modifications to the ROM package itself.
option 2

1. As far as I know, on the gTablet, the bootloader will only work if it is on a standard NAND flash partition. It cannot run off the SD cards.
Simiarly, both the recovery image and the ROM kernel has to live on the NAND flash. The ROM itself (apps and data), however, can exist on either SD card.
2. You can install a ROM if your gTablet can boot into recovery mode (either CWM recovery or the standard recovery).
A new bootloader can be installed (without using the USB cable and the APX mode) only by the standard ViewSonic recovery. CWM recovery won't do it.
3. You can install either of the recovery images (CWM or std) using either recovery mode, or by using any of the custom ROMs.
Ie. If your mini-USB port can't be used for APX mode, the tablet must boot either into the ROM or into recovery mode.
4. A bootloader and a ROM can also be installed in APX mode, but, for that a working USB port is needed. If your mini-USB port is not working, open the tablet up and inspect the mini-USB port carefully. Also try using a different computer and USB cable.

For your 'before', it is because you are on Samsung stock ROM. Samsung Kies only recognises devices running Samsung-based stock/modified ROM. Custom ROMs are not based on Samsung ROM, so Kies cannot detect them.
There is actually an exploit in CM11, try to turn USB debugging on while uncheck MTP and PTP. It works for me to detect my external SD card although official fix is still in progress. If this still does not work for you, you can either take out your external SD card and plug into your card reader to transfer or search for file transfer apps / software that uses wifi as transfer medium.

Try an app called Airdroid. With it you can transfer files using your web browser in your computer.
CM11 doesn't support USB (yet)
On Nexus 4 or Samsung n9002 in CM11, you can't even check/uncheck MTP and PTP. USB is not supported if you have these devices. The USB computer connection screen simply crashes. :'(

[Completed] Boot recovery puzzle. How to get from Cyanogenmod Recovery to TWRP or CWM without USB

I moved my old Galaxy S2 from stock to Cyanogenmod years ago and stopped using it when the USB port failed for data but not power.
I got it out of a drawer today and I just upgraded from the external SD card to Cyanogenmod 12.1 and forgot to add Gapps.
I think I had TWRP before but now I only have Cyanogen Recovery.
Is there a way to add Gapps without TWRP or USB?
Hi there and welcome to Assist,
Download proper GApps and copy to your SD card (on the root of card) using some Micro SD adapter, and then try to flash thru recovery.
Good luck
Thanks man.
The Gapps zip wouldn't read from the external card so I copied it in the OS onto the CMupdater folder on the phone and it worked from there.
Thanks again.
