[Completed] Boot recovery puzzle. How to get from Cyanogenmod Recovery to TWRP or CWM without USB - XDA Assist

I moved my old Galaxy S2 from stock to Cyanogenmod years ago and stopped using it when the USB port failed for data but not power.
I got it out of a drawer today and I just upgraded from the external SD card to Cyanogenmod 12.1 and forgot to add Gapps.
I think I had TWRP before but now I only have Cyanogen Recovery.
Is there a way to add Gapps without TWRP or USB?

Hi there and welcome to Assist,
Download proper GApps and copy to your SD card (on the root of card) using some Micro SD adapter, and then try to flash thru recovery.
Good luck

Thanks man.
The Gapps zip wouldn't read from the external card so I copied it in the OS onto the CMupdater folder on the phone and it worked from there.
Thanks again.

[Q] USB port broken need external SD backup

Hi Guys,
My USB isn't working properly anymore - as a result it won't charge and I can't connect it to the computer. I have a new s3 and I want to copy the entire image from one device to another.
From what I can gather if I'm able to do CWM backup to an external SD card I can then simply load this back onto my device.
My trouble is I can't seem to preform a full back up onto the external SD card from CWM recovery menu - any ideas would be appreciated!
what error are you getting while making a backup from cwm ?

why not just download the stock rom on you pc then put it on the sd card then put the sd card in your tablet?
I recommend using twrp 2.5.0.0-4.2 instead of 2.6 if you have fastboot that is. It mounts external SD just fine. Tap the internal storage box and you should be able to change to microsd.

Install new custom ROM Hyperdrive 8 on N8013 tablet 10

Good day.
I was planning on putting new Rom Hyperdrive 8 on my Samsung N8013 tablet.
I rebooted the tablet into CWM touch recovery. 6.0.4.5 and selected the option "clean up for new Rom. After the cleanup was done successfully, I selected "install from sdcard1" to install a new hyperdrive 8 Rom, it cannot see the external micro sdcard card (32 gigs) and my new Rom is on the external sdcard. It can't even see the internal card either. I am able to get into the Cwm Touch Recovery. But I cannot mount or remount the external micro sd card.
Your advice on how to make it work would be greatful.
Thank you.

[Completed] SD Card not recognised: Samsung Galaxy S2, OmniRom 5.0.1 Lollipop

Hello,
I have just flashed to Omnirom's version of Lollipop (from here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_mDj-AUPfVrdm51MWRvMzN0bUE&usp=sharing)
The SD card is accessible in recovery mode, nothing wiped or deleted but not when the phone is booted up. Running fine other than that.
If I press 'mount SD card' it makes a responsive sound but appears to have no effect. I cannot connect to my laptop via USB either.
What do I do?
Hi,
