[E/dual] [CWM] boot+recovery image for stock JB

This is a boot image with CWM for stock JB. The included kernel versions are stock Sony (versions 11.3.A.0.47 and 11.3.A.2.1). You may need an unlocked boot loader for this.
This can also be used to root stock JB ROM by installing Superuser through recovery.
Downloads:
Xperia E single
Xperia E dual
Note: Don't directly link to these releases. Link to this thread with current releases instead.
Usage instructions:
Boot to fastboot and flash boot image:
Code:
fastboot flash boot <filename>.elf
Recovery boot is triggered by pressing any of the volume keys during bootup while the notification bar lights up.
How to run fastboot is explained in Sony's instructions. If you still need help with that, please Google it yourself because there are plenty of guides.
Standard disclaimer that I'm not responsible for any messups applies.
Thanks go out to FXP for the initial Nanhu device port.

This thread is about CWM, not how to get JB. I've explained how to get it from SUS on another thread.

stuck on waiting device in fastboot...
any suggest?
Code:
C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
< waiting for device >
ps: when normal mode and usb debug activated, adb run very well, also when I try to add new hardware then select fastboot interface driver, my computer said it's installed with code 10... restart my computer but no change... please help... this is my first Xperia phone but not my first android...
thanks
First post updated with new release.
Single-SIM E users, please flash the new single-SIM specific version. The stock kernel on the devices are slightly different, most importantly the battery percentage specification, so the reported battery level will be off when running the other device's kernel.
I am rooted with bootloader locked.
Please tell if I need to get mine bootloader UNlocked for this to work???
And people who have flashed pls give quick steps for how to.....
I am new to Sony device

The method of flashing a custom boot image won't work with a locked boot loader.
There may be other methods like this where recovery is placed on the system partition instead of the boot partition, but I haven't looked into that.
trying to combine with FXP CM10 > stuck on SONY logo...
with MIUI V5 > Bricked... have to use flashtool for recover...
btw, this is great work for stock ROM lovers
not meant for comparative, but your CWM look so better than FXP's one, also can reboot the system properly... ( CM10 still can not reboot phone, even on recovery mode)
It can't boot CM because it includes stock ROM's ramdisk, i.e. the boot instructions. CM will require its own specific ramdisk.
successfully entered in cwm in xperia e dual??? is ther any rom for e dual??? can i flash cm10.1 for xperia e in my e dual???plz any 1????

Well that problem description is a bit too generic. Note that this is for stock JB ROM, not CM10 or ICS. I have tested it with version 11.3.A.2.1 on E dual.
I haven't done another stock-compatible recovery, but I'm hoping to post the first release of my CM10 port next week, and it will include TWRP.
I´ve tested on stock JB 11.3.A.2.1 on C1604 device.
Please, port also recovery for stock only. I don´t want to use any other ROM at the moment.
Or tell how to do.
:good:

I'll look into getting TWRP to work with stock when I've got some time, but right now I don't have anything except CWM.

I'm currently away for a few days, but you can expect a release soon.

Can i have inverts on stock jelly bean?

guys i need help, i have stock jelly bean 4.1.1 on my nexus s, and i wanted to have that black bean or inverted messaging, contacts and calendar for my phone, i tried using someone's help and i ended up restoring my phone twice, once i replaced the original one and then used twrp to flash it, but everytime it said messaging has stopped unfortunately need help regarding this please, if someone can help me get a few pointers how to replace my apps with inverted ones, hurts my eyes too since i have weak eyes
PS yes i'm rooted
Why don't you just flash blackbean or some other 4.2.2 rom that supports dark-toggled gapps and system apps? What's hindering you?

[Q] Xperia X8 Wrong Flash

Few days ago, i had flash my SE X8 from stock rom (2.1 Eclair) to 2.3.7 Gingerbread. It's look pretty much X8 running gingerbread. After 2 days, i found Jelly Bean custom rom on this site, and I decide to flash my X8 to jelly bean. But everything goes wrong, when i finished flash my phone by Applying jelly bean custom rom.zip, i had warning when reboot my phone. Its telling that the custom rom does not support for the kernel but I force to reboot my phone..just it, now my phone won't to start. Its just going to the "Sony Ericsson" logo and freeze, wont't boot, can't charging too,
Anybody had solve this problem before??:crying: Plizz share u'r trick how to repair my phone...
I assume u have a locked bootloader...use pc companion or flashtool to flash back to stock rom...

[Q] GAPPS

Greetings!
OK... so I have been having some fun... soft bricked my phone.... got it up and going....
Flashed some more roms and stuff.... got an error 7.... that one was fun...
I found a website that carried a really new ODIN, and the factory ROM for the ICS.... flashed that through this new ODIN...
and am back to square one...
so... based on some readings and digging... I am back to liquid smooth jelly bean 4.1.2 since it seemed pretty lean and pretty stable ... and am trying to find a trimmed down gapps package that works... I have flashed 3 different ones so far (and yes, they are all under 4.1.2... not flashing any KK gapps) and I am just getting "error loading gmail" and "error loading play"
Any suggestions??
Out of curiosity, have you tried a full (or fuller) gapps to see if maybe the the trimmed down ones your using are messing with it? I just bumped down to 4.1.2 and don't have any issues with gapps, so I'm curious to know which packages you're trying?

I don't know for Xperia S. My S3 has fast battery drain but everything else works fine, so it's worth to try

I just flashed carbon rom on my xperia s since the unicorns rom didn't worked because the rom file was for samsung tab if I'm not mistaken.Do u know any way to solve this problem? It does happened to both of the roms (carbon rom and cyanogenmod 11), sometimes my phone get lags and it does auto reboot and my battery suddenly goes too low after the reboot. For example, my battery before was 54% after reboot, it goes down to 15%.

Please read the whole thread. The developer of the ROM has maybe written much about this. Maybe it is unstable! But try another kernel. Maybe these issues are already solved.
I am sure that problem is kernel. try another one

I flashed the carbon rom with the new build which was released 22/07/14.So far, there are no problems at all.Talking about kernel, which is the best kernel? I did flashed the one that whzy (i don't really remember his username) posted but it didn't worked.
Carbon rom external sdcard
Hey Everyone,
Im newbie here, and here what ive got. I ve done a factory reset on my Xperia V with :
Tsubasa Carbon ROM Unoff 20140908 1903,
Kernel Ver 3.4.0,
Build Numb caron_tsubasa-eng 4.4.4. KTU84Q
Then now whenever i tried to open gallery it says that "No external storage available" and when i opened camera it says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped".
I tried to figured it out by googled and search anywhere, but restarting, rebooting even reflashing via TWRP the results stays the same.
Kindly anyone would help? Thanks. :crying:

I don't have Xperia S, but I use carbon rom for my Xperia Arc S till now. It's a good rom, stable and fast for me.
For the carbon rom kernel, it's included in the rom file. You can extract boot.img and flash it. For me, it's the best kernel for carbon rom.

It happened to me too for few time when I install rom. But I don't know whats triggering the problem. I try to clean cache and dalvik cache in recovery, and the camera ok. When I accidently uninstall some system app, camera stopped or gallery wont open and I do clean install. Maybe you can clean cache and dalvik cache or clean install. I hope it's work for you.
*sorry for my bad english*
