Developers needed for desk product - Android General

Hello
My name is Taygh (te-y-g). I want to create the future around me, and I have an idea that will get me started. But I have a problem. I am not very good at programming, so I would like to get a team of developers together to help. They would modify Android ICS 4.0. It would be for a desk fitted with a tablet. For details, please contact me at [email protected]. This is a legit thread. Also, please post hardware we could possibly use. Please don't spam this thread. All development would be done via group Skype.
Thank you,
Taygh
PS: Using Pandaboard as motherboard

Moved thread to General. Also, you might just ask people to PM you instead of putting your email out there for anyone to spam you. You don't have to, but just a suggestion.

Please refer to the next post. I messed this one up and cannot delete it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have a question. Is there anyway to get this thread more noticed (out there)?

Mirror Space

EDIT*
To not seem like a spam post, I decided to simplify this. If you are a developer in need of a mirror with ftp access, you can e-mail me at [email protected], If this post is violating the rules of this forum, please delete it. I just wanted to contribute in some way to the forum and developers since I myself have no where near the talent and skill that many of the developers have in this forum when it comes to programming with android.

Hello,
I wanted to take some time out to let you guys know, I'll be offering a mirror to any KNOWN developer. PM me if your interested, If you are a known developer around the forum, I will give you an FTP account with directory info for linking. Unlimited storage, and Unlimited bandwidth. Please do not upload anything unrelated to this forum! My domain is www.massivemirror.com, The main page is currently under construction, But I wanted to offer it up to you guys first, Since I know you developers really need it (and I cannot stand multiupload/rapidshare/megafail)

For XDA admins/mods

Dear wonderful XDA administration staff,
Can we please have a Q&A section here? General helps, but we really need something that screams POST YOUR QUESTIONS HERE so we don't get a rash of dev section spam. It's already begun.
EDIT: I'd post one of these myself but that's kind of your job. I'd be happy to create one if you'll stick it for me. Thanks.
Hugs and kisses,
k0nane

Dear users,
Please, please, please do not spam the dev section. Questions, comments, and other items DO NOT GO THERE. The dev section is for posting items created for, ported to, or otherwise made for use with this phone. If it is not something that can be used on the device, or DEVELOPER DISCUSSION, it does not belong there. Cries for help or "when will we get [xxx]/how easy will it be to get [xxx]" do NOT count as dev discussion.
Much love,
k0nane

Soak test start today

All,
I just received this.
Hi.
Thanks for signing up for the Atrix 2 software test. Our apologies for the delay in starting this test! The software will begin to be pushed out later this afternoon; however, it may take several hours for all targeted devices to receive the update.
We're eager to hear your feedback. Please share your experience on the private community provided, and via the survey I will send out after you've had some time to work with the software.
To ensure we hear you, please follow these guidelines:
Please post all your feedback in our private community (link below). This also where you'll find help during the soak.
Please do not call or contact Motorola, AT&T or your carrier support for help during the soak. Those teams are not yet ready to support this software.
I'm not able to check private messages on the forums during soaks, so if you need immediate help that's not a good route to take. Post in the community instead.
If you have any problems accessing the private community, please click here for help.
Please do not post questions publicly, on our site or elsewhere.
Please start your visit to the private community here. You'll find additional important information in the Welcome message as soon as you sign in. (Note that you will not be able to post in the public communities during the soak test.)
Thanks so much for your participation! We really appreciate your time and insights.
Regards,
George A Custer Col. 7th Calvary (mod edit)
So be aware that the update will be out today.
Apologies to the group and the moderators. This should be moved to the general section.
Also, not only was it posted in the wrong section, but we already have a thread on it. We all know your excited. But please search before posting.
Also, you should have edited out the gentleman's name from Motorola.

[Completed] [Q] How do I get to 10 posts, Without looking like I'm spamming?

I have a bug/problem with Oblytile v0.9.9, However I cannot post in the obly tile thread due to the 10 post requirement. My issue with it is that tiles refuse to show up, at all. They get properly made (as in the files exist, etc) but they do not show at all.
Thanks,
TGiFallen
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best thing you can do is ask legitimate questions and take this time to learn more about your device. Don't spam the threads. If a moderator notices they will bring your post count back to 0. I'm going to let this one slide, but don't do it again. Also, see if this helps you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1899865
I get the overwhelming feeling that you read my Thread title, then replied, without even bothering to read the post body.
I do have a legitimate issue, and I did post a legitimate question. Unfortunately I am unable to provide more details because of the bug's nature. It does not give me debug information, does not show tiles with errors, it just simply does not show them at all.
I understand that with such a large community that a large percent of new users are either bots, spammers or idiots, however I like to think I am none of those. Of course I searched the oblytile thread for any indications of other people having my bug, and any possible fixes, though I came up nil, thus I had to create an account. In fact the more I read your reply the more sure I am that you did not even read my post body. This has nothing in relation to my phone. Thanks though.

Hello,
As @jd1639 pointed out spamming and swearing indicated by the "****" from your above post (which I deleted) will get the post deleted.
As he also suggested posting legitimate questions or helping others will get your post count up.
Thanks,

Well this'll be fun then.
Still no help with my issue, as indicated in 2/4 posts in this thread.

@TGiFallen,
The rules outlined for the site are pretty clear. The 10 post requirement is in place for spam and bot related reasons as you know.
Rather than attempt to circumvent the rules/system, you should take a moment to browse through the other Q&A threads for your device. You can post there and also in the General Sections for your device. Simple things such as talking about your device or joining in a conversation can rack that post count up pretty quick.
Going on a spam spree will only serve to be counter productive for you and get your IP banned so take heed of the warning signs put before you.
I will be closing this thread now as it no longer serves a purpose. I hope you understand the minimum standard set for each user on this site and I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

[Resolved] Need Assistance Updating an Old Thread

I know XDA has the 10 post rule, but I signed up to fix an issue with thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890199
The old XDA thread is the top result on Google for renaming Android apps. Thread was renewed by Ashish Mundhra, a writer for www.guidingtech.com, whom necromanced this old tool that is no longer being developed. Normally instead of all this backstory I would have just posted:
A tool that is up to date, works, doesn't need Windows, and is still being developed.

When Google points me to a sour, stale, or dead thread, I like to point that thread to the new information that works if/when a solution is found.
It's disappointing I can't do this directly but I understand, so can one of you do it? I think the spirit of a site like this is community help and support.
Why I don't think this new post is forum necromancy:
Forums are great sources of information so long as the content is on point and furthers the topic. Post's like "It doesn't work for me." I believe is necromancy. However, providing a solution using modern hardware or an alternative I believe is a great asset to forums.
What are other user's thoughts? Would someone be able to update this thread for me? If not, why?
Why not actively posting on the thread you think it needs to be updated ? Whoever reads the thread would eventually see your post I guess ...
Do you want someone to add your thoughts on the first post of that thread ?
Unfortunately xanthrax, as a new member I cannot post to developer forums. I would need assistance from another member to do what you suggest.

Oops! Sorry, TehZig, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
New members (those with few posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums. The developer forums are intended for experienced users and developers to discuss ways to improve technical aspects related to ROMs and software. New users can read posts and download files, just cannot post for a bit.
To ask Questions about developing your device, installing ROMs, software and themes you must go to the Q&A or General Forum.
Remember, your question has very likely been asked already, so please search before posting.

Hi !
That`s ok and due to not enough posts count.
All new members must reach 10 posts across the forum in order to be able to participate on the development section by helping around .
This will make them get accustomed to our website before jumping into the development section.
No problem. I've lurked years but only now created an account.
As to the purpose of this thread, my thoughts were that I could possibly gather relevant post replies while debating my own topic for 10 posts.
The 10 post rule is a good one. Not everyone has dialed into information via BBS and used the internet before it became popular for information, instead of popular for instant messaging.
Well you're almost there, welcome to XDA [emoji6]
