No, because WiFi has nothing to do with your carrier. You might need to password for the WiFi though. Data (3G or 4G LTE) will depend on carrier, and you will probably need to contact Tmo to enable Roaming.

So... I bought an unlock code because ATT was being an asshat and refused to give me an unlock code despite their promise to give me one.
I bought the code from cellunlocker, and I've tried all the methods except using a different sim. They all give me the same result: "The old pin you typed is not correct".
Do I have to use a different sim or is something terribly wrong with my phone? I'm going to China next week and I plan to use my phone.
Different Sim. Non att Sim

Tmo or simple mobile. Simple mobile sims are just a dollar on ebay or about 2-5 in craigslist. That is of course if you dont have friends on tmo.

Haha I'll find someone tomorrow at school. XD
Thanks!
Still doesn't work! I've tried all the methods! D:
Was I supposed to select Galaxy S II or Galaxy S II LTE?

Yeah that's what I selected.
Strange. I've sent an email to support, but knowing support desks, they will probably be idiots.

My Nexus will be here tomorrow and I'm wanting to sign up with AIO's $60 plan. On their site it is asking for an IMEI. My concern is that the new Nexus IMEI may not be compatible with their 4g network. Has anyone else had success with AIO? I don't want to be stuck on 3g. Should I be seeking an IMEI from another device as a work-around? If so, what device, and where? My current phone is a 1st gen HTC Evo with sprint. Any help and advice is much appreciated!
Ive been wondering the same thing also.

They're using AT&T's network, I'm on it right now and get HSPA, HSPA+, and LTE. Works 100% fine. Used the same SIM card on my nexus 4 and had great service.

I've also wondered if AIO's LTE (AT&T) will work on the N5. So you have the N5 and it is working no problem? How are the speeds on LTE and HSPA+ (yes i know they throttle, just wondering how it feels)??

Unfortunately i don't have have a Sim to swap. I'm wondering if I order one using the IMEI from the new Nexus 5 will I be able to access 4g? Or will I be bumped to 3g because the Nexus 5 does not show up in their system?
Using Aio SIM from my N4 with not so good reception where I live and getting decent speed.
FYI, the N4 wasn't in their system either and needed the EMEI to activate.
Activating a nexus 5 on aio will be a cake walk. Nothing like the problems people over on sprint are having.

Hello. I just bought a like new Galaxy blaze on ebay, still waiting for it to get here. I have service with AT&T and I am assuming my data connection will be very slow. Is there any modem/radio that you guys could recommend? I did search for answers but couldn't find them!
Thanks

Based on location. Not sure if it's a good idea since I've never done it before.

Thanks, but unlocking the phone won't give me fast data speeds because At&t works on a different frequency.
I know there are people currently doing what I mentioned in the first post on their Galaxy Note 1 and 2 when switching from Tmobile to At&t and vice versa...

When using an AT&T phone on T-Mobile and vice versa there is no guarantee that you will experience the full potential of their respective services. Basically it's a crap shoot.

I know the s3 had it but it went away with the s4. I wonder if the s5 will have it. I know you can get simultaneous voice and data over LTE, but can it be done on 3g?

You will not be able to talk and surf over 3G or 4G LTE.
The GS5 is a Sprint Spark phone and only has one transmission path and therefore can only either connect to LTE or CDMA never both. Sorry, but it does help for battery life.

That stinks. I can use my 4G while on the phone now with my Evo3D and would like to be able to use it while on a call on my next phone and was really thinking about the S5 for my upgrade. What to do now...

It seems all new phones are on this unfortunate track... You won't be able to avoid it.
Triband is supposed to be the future, but they are going backwards

I would imagine until we have voice over LTE that won't come back on spark devices.
Is VoLTE coming with HD voice this summer or does that just step up what it's currently using?
I'm on my phone a lot in the car and while using navigation and streaming music. So if I ever need to re-route or want to change to a playlist I don't have stored, it kind of sucks.

Talk and LTE 2.5 (spark)
This is the most backwards idea ever. I noticed in the first 5 mins of buying my phone. Highly upset about this! Not that I talk on the phone and use data at the same time a lot, but I would like to have the choice. Something that was not talked about in the weeks after the unveiling of the S5.

i dont do it either...but when im using bluetooth and on hold, i dont mind playing with the internet....so backwards!!
Most of us have unlimited data on sprint. Google voice integrates well with sprint. So an option would be to set up google voice, and then use a third party app such as phone for google voice. I don't have s5 yet, so can't try it. still on s3.
if anyone wants to try it, then you can report back on how well it works. I have used it overseases using a 3g connection with mixed results. Sometimes worked well, sometimes not.
Hmm with sprint I can't surf the Web at all no data when on a call I understand 3g no data but I was told on spark or lte I can is this true?

We have a spark device ....so we are basically sol . Past devices worked with lte. I believe all of sprints new devices will work in this manner. Until spark is updated to to allow this feature.

So, title says it all. Is it possible to buy a factory unlocked note 5 (like say...perhaps from Ebay), root it and then use it on Verizon?
Yea but you might not get 4glte only 3g, why would you do that though when the Verizon note 5 has already been rooted?

Thank you for your quick response. I haven't seen where the Verizon variant has been rooted. Do you have a link?

Yah your right I didn't fully read through the comments, u can use a T-Mobile for Verizon I did it for the note 4 before it got rooted and worked on Verizon without 4g, but I was getting really fast 3g speeds at least 10/20 mbps, the note 4 is also a great phone that is rooted on verizon

Thnx. I was considering the Note 4 but am quite frustrated with how Verizon is trying to lock us down lately. While I've had Samsung devices for a long time, I'm now thinking about the Nexus 6P...
I would go with nexus for sure or one plus devixe, but the note 4 retail editions have now all been successful in converting to developer editions witch is really dope, it brought life back to my device.
