I have a rooted stock HTC One S running 4.04.
I recently discovered an interesting problem. I've been using the Call Recorder app for a while now and it works great, but the other day I discovered that if i'm using wifi calling to make calls, my phone crashes and reboots. I disabled the Call Recorder app and it solved the problem. The other interesting part is enabling speaker solves the problem...so as soon as I place the call, if I hit the speaker button, the phone doesn't crash.
I haven't had the chance to try any other apps yet. And it's not really a big deal as i rarely use wifi calling. But I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to why this could be happening or if anyone else has experienced this.
Thanks!

I also have this annoying problem that stops the basic function of the mobile phone. I also searched the net but did not find any fix for it also tried several ICS builds/version available on internet but all are having this problem of poort MIC audio while incoming call, perfectly working when doing outgoing call.
I discovered that just after receiving the call if you taggle the mute/unmute button then it works perfectly no matter how long your call can go - i check this on more than 30 min call.
Hope developer should rectify this issue as soon as possible.

need this sorting asap paranoid is the best rom i have used so far with this bug the onjly thing making this just short of awsome
Hello all,
I have tried a couple different roms between stock, trickdroid, unknown's and seem to have problems with wifi calling and was wondering if it was just me.
Basically I did not root the phone up untill recently I was running stock software and everything was good until getting the newest t-mobile update.
Since then and even after rooting with custom tmo rom I have issues with the following:
calls not ringing the phone when has been sleep for a while
wifi seeming to disconnect while on a call haven't seen it do it not on a call. (if wifi calling is off I don't have this issue)
call audio cuts out randomly.
I have so far put wifi to never go off with screen and put on best wifi performance.
That has seemed to help with the audio cutting out has gone away and with the connection drop during calls does not seem to happen as much.
with not getting calls it seems to not happen as much more so setting a different governer helped that not so much the rom.
Anyone else have these issues or noticed similar problems.
Hey guys. I'm having an issue with my microphone during calls. People say that they hear me very soft, as if I'm on speaker phone and far away. Other times they can't hear me at all, just a lot of weird interference. I tried calling myself using a VOIP app and left myself a voicemail and I can't hear a thing regardless if I'm using speakerphone or not.
There is NO problem when I'm on a call using bluetooth in the car. There is no problem when I use any voice recording/google now/swype voice recognition type app. Video recordings also work fine.
I'm using the latest OmniROM with Franco.Kernel. I can confirm that the problem also persists when I use the OmniROM kernel.
Could this be a software issue? I'm concerned because my screen has a crack in it and I'm not sure if Google/LG will cover a microphone issue under warranty because of the cracked screen. (I can also confirm that this problem existed BEFORE the phone fell causing the cracked screen).

So I confirmed that this is not a software issue. I went back to stock everything and the problem persists. I opened it up to see if I could do anything to the mic itself, but it's attached to the board and there was nothing I could do. At this point I have a phone with a disfunctional microphone and a voided warranty due to a cracked screen. This sucks. Is there any software that will let me switch which microphone is used during calls? Again, the mic that is used for voice recognition and video recording and google now and voice recording and all that stuff works. The only mic that doesn't work is the bottom mic during calls. Can I switch it so that calls go through the other mic? it won't be perfect, but better than nothing.
Hi all,
As the title suggests, everytime when I am making a call on blueooth (car), the ring\dial tone will stay silent for the rest of the process until the call is connected. I have also looked into the settings menu under sounds but with no help, tried deleting and repairing the devices and no luck. Is anybody else experiencing this problem and better yet, found a solution for this?
My friend is also experiencing same issue and we are using Ford car Bluetooth connection.
Also happens on my Nexus 4 newly upgraded to lollopop.
Fine for incoming calls but silent for outgoing. Switching to speakerphone on the device then back to bluetooth seems to manually make it route the call through the bluetooth handsfree but is obviously very unsafe.
Suprised more people havent mentioned this issue!
Managed to find a fix? 5.0.1 doesnt sort it sadly.
Finally I see someone acknowledging the issue.
Nope, could not find any fix and surprisingly no one is mentioning this issue anywhere. Experts in this forum should help us with some solution.
Got the workaround

You can put the source of the audio system to Bluetooth audio and you should be able to hear the dialtone. Afcoure your call end buttons on audio system will not work while on dialtone. After the phone is picked-up the buttons start working
Hello!
I have a major issue during videocalls using google duo, skype where if there are any background noise around me, i can't hear the person i am talking to. The audio cuts off. It has to be silent around me in order for me to hear the person i am talking to. Is there any fix to this problem? I have already reset the phone but the problem is still there.
mic (over) sensitivity? perhaps some will stop by and know the file and file entry to edit.
any of this type setting elsewhere (Settings, the app itself, and sound modification yo have installed, eg Viper, etc... that you can check/get to?
I have no sound modification installed. I checked the settings but there seems to be no part adressing this issue. The same problem happens when i use different apps like skype, google duo and signal. Could it be a hardware problem? The microphone works fine when i record a video or recording audio.
Maybe.
Rooted? If so, and you've done a full, clean install, and sure that the install is working ok, maybe try another custom ROM.
Normal calls work, as I get you it's (just) video calls? Another possibility, I'd consider looking up mic sensitivity and ways to decrease it. On the OnePlus One I am aware there was a configuration file folks could mess with to try and resolve that phone's mics over sampling. That was a common issue for many.
Have you tried turning the volume down and see if that has any effect?
Wish I could offer more ideas, I have used video calls maybe 3 times in 8 years.
The phone is not rooted. This problem occurs only when i use internet based videocalls (skype, google duo). The volyme is not usually high when i call. Thank you for your time, hopefully i will find a solution soon.
Frustrating. Good luck.
