Using on AT&T? - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know out of the box the Droid Razr Maxx HD is a world phone with the exception of being locked to prevent use on AT&T, but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten this phone to work on AT&T?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Droid 2 Motherboard replacement?

Hallo guys
my droid 2 (verizon) is hard bricked (my thread HERE) and I have no idea how to fix it.
But I have another not working Milestone 2 with a working motherboard here at home.
So I want to know if I could easily exchange the motherboard of the verizon against the one of the other Milestone 2?
Because I don't know the difference between Milestone 2, Droid 2 and droid 2 global.
And I just know, that the other one was bought in Germany.
As far as I recall DROID2 GLOBAL uses a different digitiser (different connectors).
hmm thats bad. where could I look up witch version of droid 2 do i have ?
Go to settings > about phone

Nevermind its bricked. Sorry

If your DROID2 has a SIM card slot, it's the Global.
If not, it's the regular DROID2 as it doesn't support GSM.
Visual differences: the D2's camera is built into a piece that is different in colour from the case. The D2G's is “embedded”. The D2's model number is A955, while the D2G is A956. The model number is under the battery. The DROID2 GLOBAL has an IMEI; the DROID2 doesn't and the IMEI/MEID are also under the battery.
okay thanks men
i just noticed, that the verizon i have is the droid 2 because it hasn't a sim card slot and is the A955 model.
but caould you help me one more time? witch of the batteries in the attachment is from the droid 2 ? and wich one from the droid 2 global?
DROID2, DROID2 GLOBAL and Milestone 2 all use the same battery, the BP6X. I think DROID X also uses the BP6X.
ok thanks
thread can be closed
Hey
a last question occured yesterday how can i distinguish between a Motorola Milestone A 953 and a A956 (global) ??
There are several ways to do it. I'll list two.
First:
Stare at the lack of Verizon's logo on an A953.
Stare at the Verizon logo on an A956.
Engage brain activities.
Second:
Remove the battery.
Stare at the model number on the sticker.
Engage brain activities.
Verizon logo,A953 haven't got a Verizon logo

euhm sry but my other milestone 2 is not from verizon and there is no model declared.
kook at the sticker on the photo
It says “Milestone 2” right there.
Verizon has no devices marketed as Milestone, as you know.

found out it is compatible with my carrier..
but cant really decide.. can someone please tell me why i should pick this over the nexus 4?
Nexus 4 = no LTE, no microSD slot. If either of these things matter to you, then don't get the Nexus4.
Razr HD international XT925 is probably a better option for you than Verizon's XT926, as the Verizon phone is bootlocked, carrier locked, and doesn't support international LTE bands at all. Currently the Razr Maxx HD is Verizon XT926 only, however the 2500mAH battery in the Razr HD gets me through most days with more than 50% battery remaining.
Hope this helped.

OK I'm on att with my droid mini and I really want LTE on my phone! Is there anyway we can put moto x bands on the mini to get LTE service?

I asked the same question a month or two ago. I think the answer is no, unfortunately. Wish they had released an AT&T version of the mini!

Unfortunately the name "Droid" is a trademark of Lucas Films and Verizon (not Motorola) has purchased the right to use the Droid name. So you you will never see a phone named "Droid" anything on any carrier except Verizon. IMO that's why even though the Moto X fits right in the line with the Mini, Ultra, and Maxx, it didn't get the Droid name allowing it to be used on other carriers.

Right but lots of times Motorola will release something similar on other carriers. Like the Atrix. Doesn't necessarily need to be called "droid mini" or look identical but I wish there was an att equivalent!

You can try the radios for at&t moto x on your mini. Those radios should be fine with your mini. If not just flash the old radios back

Amazingly, they do flash. I just flashed NON-HLOS.bin, then ran "erase modemst1" and "erase modemst2" and then flashed fsg.mbn. My radio now shows as the same radio on my AT&T Moto X. I then added the "phone" APN.
Very disappointed to report that I'm still not getting LTE on the mini on AT&T.
Too bad. Worth a try. Would have been awesome if it had worked, but I guess it just doesn't have the correct bands, even with the AT&T radio flashed. If anybody else has any ideas, would love to hear them.
You will get LTE in areas that have band 4 active. I have it some places and others not.
The at&t bands are different then Verizon. And as the mini/ultra/maxx was made exclusive for Verizon....... You may never have luck. Sorry about that. If I had better news for you I would let u know. Even with a locked boot loader, you can still flash a lot of things

I went out and got a prepaid TMobile sim for my maxx today to try out their service. As I typed this, its being posted over Tmobile LTE which is suprisingly faster by 8Mb/s than VZW LTE
Maxx'd out Kit Kat

Is band 4 available out there. If so then that is why it works. There is a will work won't work issue. It all depends.

I assume band 4 is available. Was really surprised by it

In metro areas you have a better chance of picking up band 4 on att. Most areas are not band 4. T-Mobile is (for the moment) exclusively band 4.

[Q] Droid Razr HD on T-Mobile

Hello everyone,
I was lent a Droid RAZR HD from a friend of mine to borrow while my S6 edge is being repaired. I would like to use this phone on T-Mobile, is there anything special that needs to be done for it to work? Is it possible to use this phone on the T-Mobile network? It was originally purchased from, and last activated on Verizon.
Please let me know if you would need any more information.
Thank you,
Michael

Good octacore phones that compare to droid Maxx 2?

I have a droid Maxx 2 but hate that I can't unlock the bootloader. What's a good phone close to Maxx 2 not on Verizon but works in us on T-Mobile with 4g and up? If possible also in same price range.
