link1.Use RSD to flash offical 608 sbf(dont worry about downgrade,it will unbrick after the next step)
2.Use RSD to flash this repacked 629 sbf(it will flash 629 BL=2 signed boot,recovery,cdt)
3.reboot to recovery, wipe data&cache(Not required if you have important data in it,but if you stuck at bootanimation loop then you have to wipe it)
4.use superoneclick to grant root access(or any zergrush script)
5.install otarootkeeper(can be found in play store,it's free),backup su,then unroot
6.reboot to recovery,reapply 629 OTA update.zip,reboot.(thanks silver6054 for the ota zip link)
7.open otarootkeeper,restore su

magic takes about 10mins, and you don't have to temp brick it

and it's only a 50mb file

Its easier than making a cd and go through all those steps. I rooted in about 20 min

How do you REroot after flashing 4.3?

Anyone know how to reroot the Infuse 4G after flashing a 4.3 rom?
Do we just reflash the kernel from Odin?

If you have flash a jellybean 4.3 rom ur already rooted this is what you have to do to get superuser to work.
Go to settings, go to developers options allow android debugging look for root access and change to apps and adb.

[Q] Motorola Droid Maxx Stuck at Droid Logo on Boot

I got a notification this morning on my Droid Maxx for the OTA update that just came out. I told it to install this afternoon. After doing so, my phone rebooted, showed the progress of the update, and then about half way through showed me a form of the Android logo that said "failed" underneath. Ever since that, I cannot get my phone to fully boot. I tried clearing the cache from the recovery mode menu but that had no effect. I also cannot get the phone to boot into safe mode. My phone was not rooted so I'm not exactly sure why there was an issue with the update. Just wandering if anybody has any suggestions on what to do at this point? Worst case scenario I'm assuming I can restore to factory defaults but I would really like to avoid that if possible. Thanks in advance for the help!
Sounds like you should be able to FXZ and retain data to stock then take the update again.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'm pretty much a noob at this. Are there any good tutorials you would suggest that demonstrate how to do what you suggested? I found the following site: sbf.droid-developers. org/obake/list.php (had to put spaces in it in order to post it) I began downloading the second file in the list which I'm assuming is the correct one. I've gathered that you have to edit an XML file in package. But I'm not really sure what to edit and I'm not sure about how to get it to my phone. Do I use the Motorola Device Manager or the Android development tools?
You actually do not have to edit them you can use the xt1080 and copy them over. That's what I had thought also but you don't have to edit them.

If you are trying to not lose you user data, i would remove the line
<step operation="erase" partition="userdata" />
from the .xml file before you try to apply with RSD

You don't have to remove any lines if you are using what is already zipped up, once you run house of moto it gives you the option to keep data.

Temp-root to Perma-root?

Does anybody know of any ways to force a temp-root to a perma-root?
ate you using towel root
Sent from my SM-G355H using XDA Free mobile app
Remove the temp root and do a perma root maybe
Have a nice day, sent from my HTC One M8
most easy way is to flash a root update zip using any cuatom recovery. update.zip should de for your device
Sent from my SM-G355H using XDA Free mobile app
Easiest way is to get a custom recovery and flash the SuperSU zip which is universal

No the stock recovery can't flash zips made for twrp and the like, only updates from your sd card.

Two questions, why did that get flagged as a violation of ToS? And second, if that's the SuperSU zip, why are you uploading it and sharing it through Google drive?

Updates from SD card?
Phone is an Alcatel One Touch Pop Icon (A564C) though.
Like official updates, or if anyone ever figures it out you could get root by flashing a zip using the stock recovery. But that would have to be specifically made to work with the stock recovery.

Stock recovery should have an option of flaahing update.zip.
Just rename the zip to update.zip and flash through stock one

Just curious, what are linking to on Google drive? And that's unlikely to work, try it if you want op

Idk what he's linking. Pretty sure it's a supersu.zip or something...
Will what he's suggesting have a high chance of bricking my device?
It might but I don't understand why it's flagged or why he's making mirror links to what is the easiest to find rooting file on the Internet. Will it brick? Probably not, it most likely won't even flash successfully.

Renamed zip to update.zip but it wouldn't show up in stock recovery...is it supposed to be in a specific location? Tried with it in internal memory as well as onsd card...
While in recovery ended up on a screen with android laying down on back with a triangle with exclamation point...what exactly does that mean?
