I visited sammobile.com and i noticed GT-P6200 in the Latest Firmwares section.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P6200&r=2#regiona
**Flash OFFICIAL firmwares using Odin. (download attachment below)**
extract downloaded firmware and Odin
run Odin
put your GTab+ P6200 in download mode by pressing the volume DOWN button and power button. Release the power button once the Samsung logo appears and HOLD the volume down button.
Once a prompt appears, press the volume up button
connect your GTab+ to your PC
In Odin, press PDA and select the .TAR file that you extracted from the downloaded firmware archive
Press Start
Wait for like 10-15 minutes 'til your phone reboots.
thanks, downloading now! woo hoo, will report any noticeable changes.. probably minor bug fixes(aka breaks root...I hope not! lol)
I am drooling
P_
I see no noticeable changes in KL2
anybody know where we acyually find a changelog?? even a git.hub type deal?
Ive already deodexed and zip aligned the .apks, will update my other post later tonight.
i don't think samsung even posts the changelogs.
EDIT:
There's an XXKL7 Rom. Do you think it's more updated than DXKL2?
yes, likely is, considering how samsung uses there letter/number codes,
since its so far ahead its likely a beta/test ROM.
that being siad, I might just give it a try. where did you find it? same place.
make sure it is for your model, mine is p6200 from malaysia UWAXME model#
thanks, im following samfirmware on twitter and kies too.
edit: teak that XXL2 is for indonesia, all of them released in december Im willing to bet are about the same, just for different models. Could very well actually do damage flashing a different model firmware. just some tips.
i searched "P6200XXKL7" in google and i found this website.
http://www.kaskus.us/showthread.php?p=608507241
they updated their firmware to KL7 through Kies. Which is why I don't think it's a beta Rom of some sort since Kies won't release such.
I just finished downloading it. I'm kind of feeling brave right now and I'll flash it anyway. I'll be right back with some feedback.
Mine is also P6200 but i don't know if it's UWAXME. But it came with DXKL1.
if it came new in the box with DXKL1, I would say its Malaysian same as mine UWAXME, according to sammobile firmware. as far as flashing an indonesian FW, I think they have voice call as well, so you may be just fine, just a different CSC package, etc. if you were to flash a FW from somewhere other than malaysia or Indonesia which might not have voice enabled, you could be missing phone related stuff.
Hope it all works out for you, let us know if you find anything cool.
you /should/ always be able to ODIN back.
ttyl
XXKL7 works on my device. I just finished rooting it. I'll be uploading the About Device screeny later.
@chris you have flashed DXKL2 right? what Kernel does it have?
EDIT: screeny uploaded in first post
Interesting to see that the baseband has been upgraded too, from what seems to be quite an old version KK5.
Will join the brave group as soon as I get to my office.
Also XX in the code is pointing to a European version.....
P_
KK5? according to SamMobile, KK5 was released last November. That's indeed an old Firmware! Anyways, good luck with flashing the new Firmwares!
KK5 is the baseband version that come associated with KL1
screenie attached..
only noticeable change so far from KL1 to KL2, removing bloat I noticed SamsungUNA1.apk is now SamsungUNA3.apk ?
looks like samsunguna is needed to update samsung apps / also may be related to your csc code. so unless you use samsungapps, its probably safe to remove. I havent had any problems.
hello XL3 already? i just installed xl2 two days ago.
https://twitter.com/#!/SamFirmware/status/155223653443833856
yeah! i was like "WHAT THE FFFFFFF" when i visited sammobile and saw DXKL3 in the latest firmwares section.
really wish we had a changelog.. or an update for custom apps in mini bar..
Downloading it now, will report later when my slooooooooow internet connection will allow me. Do I need Odin for that ? What version ? Do I need to repartition ? Or do I apply the zip file from recovery ?!?!
P_
unzip , should ask you for a password-- is samfirmware.com Open Odin3 v 1.85, click pda button find and select DXKL3xxxx.tar.md5 you just unzipped. power off tablet with Odin still open. power on and vol down, it will display warning about custom OS, press vol up to continue. when you see the android plug into computer. you should see a yellow com port highlighted in Odin. press Start and wait a few minutes. after device reboots and Odin says success Passed in green, you can unplug and enjoy.
OK, I did not know what to expect from the ZIP file, but once downloaded it was all clear.
The archive contains everything (bootloader, kernel, radio , recovery, etc, ) but a first impression is that nothing really changed.
Agree with Chris, a changelog would be helpful to check on what's new.
Will report later after a little bit of use.
P_
i want to say I noticed some new ringtones.. but nahh those are probably same old.
Im going to see if I can download the next update from settings>check for updates.
KL2 was dated dec 22 KL3 is like 2 weeks later, either its bugfixes.. or system performance tweaks.
ok, here goes. i saw a video on youtube
(i'm a new member, so i'm replacing this link. the video is "Root & Install Ice Cream Sandwich On The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant No Computer Needed" by eddie1west)
it seemed so easy, right? i'm looking for the most stable Tmobile Vibrant ICS. Before i do that, now i have to un-junk my phone. i tried to follow that guy's instructions to put the new OS on my vibrant, but i messed something up along the way. Then i realized when he shows his phone's files, they have a different name and/or version than the links he provides. that may have had something to do with it, but it could also be that he started from stock in january, and i started from gingerbread in july....
well i put some update.zip file in the root (but was never shown when or if it needs removed), then finally got the phone rooted (but when i held all 3 buttons i never got the BLUE menu like he did. mine was RED until i applied his update.zip and then it was only GREEN until i rebooted. it always starts at RED), then installed his gingerbread over mine, then tried to load his link to ICSv13 (even though the one he used was v10), but all i got was a never ending boot. i thought maybe i needed to start from where he did, so i watched his other video (LINK REPLACED: "How To Go Back To Stock Eclair On Your Samsung Galaxy S With Odin 1.3" by eddie1west) and tried to start all over (but his download links didn't work and i had to find all the files singly). So, using odin v1.85 (but he used v1.3), i only ended up getting froyo (not eclair) and NO google apps icon....! Sigh
then it seemed like every link i clicked to try to fix my issues just brought me to this website. so i'm thinking you all must know your shhhhhhhtuff! i've read through so many forum pages like the "enable a lagfix"/"disable a lagfix" pages, the "flash with 2 files"/"flash with 3 and check a box" pages, sometimes Odin has PDA as the second button and sometimes it's third, some that say to flash without that update.zip file (so delete, flash, then put it there? then leave it?). and to top it all off, most answers take me to an older page (and program or file versions have changed or have updates since then....all newer stuff still compatible with each other?) AND a lot of the links i've clicked on are broken and i have to hope the file i find is the same as the instruction writer intended. (i guess if a file size was indicated, i could compare them kb for kb...)
about an hour ago, i was going to reflash some OS that kind of worked, then try to disable those 2 voodoo commands some page said to enable, then take the update.zip out, then try everything all over again when i got the message "CONVERT PARTITION, SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE, CONVERT PARTITION, SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE"!
THEN i thought.....HANG ON! JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A P3N1S DOESN'T MEAN THERE ARE LAWS AGAINST STOPPING AND ASKING FOR DIRECTIONS!!!! LOL!
So I stopped messing with the phone. From where i am right now, how do i get to a stable version of ICS? Will someone please give me a step-by-step list on what to do now? And can the list include file links that aren't broken (or a single zip file with everything in it would be like hitting the lottery!) and things i can look for to know i'm on the right track at the 1/3 mark and 2/3 mark possibly?
and could i please get a little forgiveness for being so long-winded when i get frustrated? and a tissue? and something to hit? (well..while i'm begging...can i get a large stuffed-crust meat-lover's and some diet dew too?) i may have found the reason that so many people use drugs! lol!
FYI, i'm on T-mobile using a T959V
FOLLOW UP-----
I moved this question here because I was just informed that the Vibrant is NOT the name of the Galaxy S 4G!
So what ur saying is the update.zip works on the t959v? And gives you root......I had a good feeling it would.
But anyhow you should go to the dev tab here in this forum and dl gremlin remover (one click)! and use that to get u back to stock.
We do not have a stable ics.
We are just now getting cm9 ics but you've got to understand its not perfect yet.....stick with gb for awhile and learn how this phone functions.
And don't worry...like the vibrant .....this phone is in my findings.....unbrickable

That is quite correct. They are different animals. If the gremlin remover doesn't help or get you where you need to go, I'd suggest using The T959V Heimdall One-Click Collection. Following the instructions there will get you back to a booting, stock Gingerbread ROM. From there you can go find ROM/ROMS of your liking (we have great developers) and give it/them a go.
Let us know if you need help.
well i meant the MOST stable Android 4 (aka cm9? ice cream)... or, for that matter, Android 3 (aka cm8? french silk pie? twinkie? zinger? lol! yum.....) would work too...
ok, i'll go find that program this afternoon/evening and fix the phone. (i just have to remember not to get that prog wet or feed it after midnight....)
now that i feel like an accidental guinea pig because i found you an answer you didn't know, then do you want me to test the compatibility of anything else out on it before i fix it? post your working links and i'll report back.
also, thanks for the gremlin help.
@stephen_w
is there an Odin one-click zip dealy thingy (and yes, that IS the technical term )
Lol I'm good I use to have the vibrant and just had a feeling this phone could have been rooted without hooking up to a comp.
Gremlin remover is an an Odin one click in itself.

Aokp and Cm9 are pretty stable just a couple bugs but not a big deal haven't tried miui v4 out yet. Good luck lol
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA
So how did it go?
I'm running cm9 btw....its very stable been running it now for 2days now and they got ringer working so really the only bug is front camera and I don't use it so for me I'm good
So from reading the threads and searching I was not finding a clear answer for my questions. I recently went from a Gnex to a S3. The Rooting/Bootloader process is obviously different on a Gnex. I understand the Odin process my questions more relate to the specifics that often don't get brought up in guides. Here are my questions.
1. Using the Unlock Bootloader and Root methods in these threads on XDA the only thing really (other then a potential brick) that is concerning is the flash counter. Are you unable to flash beyond a certain amount of counted flashes or is this merely used to identify a "rooted" phone for warranty purposes?(I am aware of triangle away)
2. Restoring to a stock config is a basic as Running Triangle away and the stock ODIN image?
3. The reason I have a SGS3 now is because my Gnex was having constant data drops. Are the radios the same as the Gnex? (I have not experienced them yet in fact perfect 4G everywhere)
4. Are there any pitfalls to SGS3 flashing that I should avoid? (other then flashing a ODIN for another carrier/model)
5. I have noticed that while Facebook indicates a contact sync it doesn't actually sync the picture to the profiles is there a fix?
6. Lastly.. d2vzw I can't seem to get a solid definition of the term in regards to what it is and the context it's being used in the development section. Can you please enlighten me?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Please the more information the better.

1) the only thing that trips the flash counter is using ODIN to flash back to stock since it flashes the image files that signifies that you've been tampering with secure images
2) restoring to stock is as easy as just using the root66.tar image (whether it be the jellybean tar leak or the stock ics tar file), running triangle away is only needed when you go past your flash counts
3) TW roms don't really experience much data drops, at least not the ones i ran....now CM10/AOSP/AOKP roms do seem to have data issues but if you're in a strong signal area it shouldn't drop that much, it's just fringe connections that are kinda the issue
4) you should back up your IMEI manually since samsung borked the imei backup partition and it has corrupted images in it which can cause you to lose your IMEI
5) there are apps in the play store that can fix this
6) d2vzw is the definition of our phone, essentially all versions of the galaxy s3 are dubbed d2<carrier label here>, such at d2att, d2spr, d2vzw, so if you flash a d2spr rom to your verizon galaxy s3, you're gonna potentially break something

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. A few follow up questions.
1. You said Triangle away is only for when you go past you flash counts. What is the number in which you exceed the flash count if any?
2. What is the IMEI? I think I have a idea but I rather be fully educated to phrase future questions in context.
3. Are there any Custom roms that include the Facebook sync capability in their frameworks?
4. What is the Aroma Installer. (This is new to me.)
Again thanks for answering my questions.
I was always under the assumption that you only trip you flash counter when flashing non samsung signed images/kernels. Odin'ing back to stock doesnt trip it at all.

So I guess I need more clarification and verification that is the case.
Well you dont really, if you go into download mode it will tell you how many times its been tripped. If it has been tripped you just grab the app Triangle Away and run it to reset it back to 0.
As for IMEI that is a number that is used to identify the device to a network iirc, for GSM phones (LTE in this case). A MEID is a CDMA equivalent. Pretty much like a fancier ESN.
A aroma installer is a installer used to pick options during a install. i.e. If a custom rom gives you a choice of the stock camera and gallery or say the Note 2's, you would check which one you want. Instead of a script just installing everything that you cant pick options. http://www.amarullz.com/articles/img/introducing-aroma-installer.1.jpg
As for facebook the jelly bean OTA that we should get in the near future will have this, it will sync photos and such. If you flash a rom based on it then it will have that.

Do we have any ROMs for d2vzw that are note3/S4 ports? Besides the older Hyperdrive?

No, hyperdrive wasn't even a port for this phone. Why are you asking? It looks like you're in the wrong forum. You have an s4 phone model.

OK got it.
I know hyperdrive and bonestock both went to the s4 after they were released on our device, but they are not ports, the devs just moved on to different devices and built from those bases.
There are no roms specifically from the note 3 or s4 that were ported to this phone.

P500VPBMB3 Sprint 4.1.2 Firmware
For some unusual reason there is little to no development for the SPH-P500 and absolutely ZERO official firmware available for the Sprint model. This means, if you soft brick the tablet trying to install something you should not have, you have no easy way of getting back to the stock firmware. In addition, getting to the 4.1.2 version of the firmware is a royal pain due to the massive amount of "PATCH CHECKS" and assert checks built in to the OTA update. This means any deodexed system or a number of other reasons will be rejected if you try the OTA update while on non-official or approved firmware. So, for your convenience, I have compiled a simple ODIN-Flashable TAR file which will jet you up to speed installing the latest official Sprint 4.1.2 firmware.
Details:
P500VPBMB3 Stock w/ MB3 Modem
Package Includes: BOOT, RECOVERY, SYSTEM, MODEM AND CACHE ZONES
Download:
P500VPBMB3 Sprint 4.1.2 Firmware
Password on the archive is: www.mobiletechvideos.com
How To Flash:
BACKUP YOUR FILES AND DATA BEFORE FLASHING...ALWAYS. First extract this file using WinRAR or a program capable of extracting a RAR package as the package inside it is the TAR file you need. This was done to save time on the download. Once extracted, using ODIN, select PDA and choose this file. Now place your tablet in DOWNLOAD MODE by having it powered off, then power on by holding POWER and VOLUME DOWN until you see the on-screen text come up. Release the buttons and press VOLUME UP to enter DOWNLOAD MODE. Now click START on ODIN. Once completed (takes around 10 minutes), it is advised to enter RECOVERY MODE and perform a FACTORY DATA RESET for the best bug free experience since I don't know what ROM you are flashing from.
Did this help you out? Great, I'm glad it did! Click that THANKS button next to my name if you have the time. Please note, if you find yourself in a hard/soft brick situation of any type on any advice, give me a shout via PM or email through the contact page on our site. We also offer repairs on a number of other issues.
27 downloads and nothing? I'd love some feedback so others can be confident in the firmware.

Haha it seems that way! Well thanks for your response. Nice to hear from somebody about this. For some reason the Tab 2 10.1 forum members seem to be dead but want development anyhow without any input!
There are a lot of people here in a german forum there is mostly nobody ...
i hope you get some feedback! if not: there is not problem first things that will reported are problems
Haha, how true! No news is good news right?
problem and feedback if it works...
Hi. I am pretty new here (although I have been a member for a while, I have not really been active). I do have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 inch display model P500VPBMB3. Perhaps I can try out what you are talking about if it helps me with my problem below and then I will be more than happy to give you feedback.
PROBLEM
I never really rooted a device before but I am at a loss here since the current version of Android that I have on my device is 4.1.2 . It's working OK but I run out of space very often since I only have 16GB of main memory. I would love to upgrade to 4.2.x so that I have the option of storing apps on the external SD card. I am not clear exactly what you are giving us here on your thread. If you can explain it to me and especially if it does what I am outlining above I would want done, I would love to give it a shot and then give you some feedback.
Either way thank you for helping is Sprint tablet people whether or not what you have above will help me.
Thanks

You will actually want to look into custom recovery combined with a custom ROM to enable this type of option. What I have provided here is a stock firmware (stock operating system). This is actually already what you have installed on the device.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. You seem to be a helpful sort of person. I am sorry to be so dense but I have no idea what those things are. Is there a place where I can, sort of begin from scratch to learn all about these things or can you please fully explain what I need to do here?
I get that yo said that what you are offering is what I already have. What I don't understand is what exactly what to look for. I do know that if I install the wrong thing, I can brick my device. What I don't know if how to find what I am looking for. I already tried it in the search box-that's how I got to your thread.
This is honestly a very tough section as the P500 is a rare unit that has little to no development. You are in the right sub-forum but finding any mods for your unit may not be possible at this time unfortunately.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! You can root with Kingo root and make modifications with xposed. I just have been so busy with work.
I will flash this when I have time. Now I can be more risky with flashing because I can now go back to stock ROM.

Hello, I know its been almost a year, but I tried to flash this ROM and get stuck after the tab reboots with the message "POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE", is there anything I can do to restore the tab (I did not do any backup).
Thanks a bunch
Do you have the Sprint model? If so, try re-downloading it and flashing again. Afterwards, perform a factory data reset.

The tab comes from China but in the options i've seen SPH-P500 so I supposed it was a model made for Sprint.
I did flash again and reset factory but nothing changed.

That is definitely unusual though the fact it came from China. This likely is NOT the right firmware for your model. The back of the unit should have the model number. See what it says...

Wow!! I made a mistake!! I bought this tab to have some fun rooting and installing custom roms. I should have checked the forums first to see if there was any support. Thanks for what you've provided here. I'm going to at least try to root and install xposed.
I have a sprint gtab2 10.1 that's out of contract, so i'm willing to start working on things if needed.
if we no longer need to use the Sprint data can we flash a SPH-P5100 rom for wifi only ?
resurrecting an old thread. Need to find the original firmware for sph-p500. This appears to be it, but I can't find or get the password to the .rar file. I can't find the firmware anywhere else after a TON of google searches. any help appreciated in either getting the password to the .rar file, or a different place to download the firmware.
Just want to know the best way to go about doing this, wary of my google search results, sites seem sketchy. My Tab is not rooted, I don't mind flashing data. I'm in Canada so I cannot upgrade thru kies or OTA.
If you want to keep it completely stock, no root, the easiest (or, maybe the only) way is to download stock 4.2.2 ROM and flash with Odin. You can check sammobile or samsung-updates, but getting the file might be a hassle after all that recent mess with changing file hosting from hotfile...
Also Upgrading my Tab 2 7.0 P3113 from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2
I am also in Canada and looking for the 4.2.2 stock rom as well.
So far every listing I have searched for has been unsuccessful for getting the files due to hotfile shutdown or the other sites make you wait only to do nothing after clicking on the download buttons.
So please let me know if you find the 4.2.2 stock rom....

First come, first served - could be a traffic limit. This is not the latest one (the newest is CMK3), but it's what I've got.

Sorry, but you'll have to do some reading, since all these things have been explained many times. No point repeating it here. You can start with the Tab 2 FAQ:

Here is the thread about Odin and flashing tools in general, with version compatibility info, links, instructions, etc.:

The odin forum doesn't list the tab 2 in the compatibility list, which version of odin should I use.

I just checked my laptop, and I have version 3.07 -- looks like that's what I used for both Tab 2 and my old SGS2. I haven't used Odin for a very long time, so I forgot... 1.85 should work, too.
