Any way to disable all radios other than bluetooth/wifi, so I can turn my phone into pretty much just an mp3/video player? Just got the LGOG, and this thing's battery dies even without use. If I take it off the charger, 12 hours later it's nearly dead just idling.
Turn airplane mode on and then turn WiFi back on. Maybe go back to gingerbread so you can watch YouTube with the the screen off.

Depending on the rom, you may be able to turn just the Data off by using the quick panel or the power button.

If you only want WiFi and BT, can't you just remove the sim card?

Do you know if the LED lights go back to full brightness after I turn on my screen?

No they don't. They stay at the setting in the app. Paul put it out its quality
Edit: this should be in the Q&A section

If your using the app, yes the service MUST run. If its built into the kernel\ROM like CM7, then you dont even need the app
You shouldn't be running a task killer anyway. Android manages its services by itself killing system apps on a regular basis can make apps that need to be running in the back ground start again wasting battery. Plus your phone will act strange after awhile. You shouldn't use them.
Again this belongs in Q&A

Moved to proper forum.
Too bad I didn't read this thread earlier, I figured this out on my own today, doing the same thing, I changed my brightness to 1 (the lowest it would stay lit) , I do think this would definitely help out on battery life.

The Touch Key Lights app DOES NOT works properly with
1) Cyan 7 mod
I am using stock Android now, it works like a charm
One touch, and the program changes the value FOREVER (even after reboots, after I re-insert the battery...)
I don't see a stay awake mode while charging under development in settings... Any one know how to keep the screen on while charging??

Look for app "stay awake" in the market.

What is the purpose of staying awake?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
probably to stop the screen from turning off while you're using the phone when it's plugged in.
It also seems useful when reading stuff online. There are so many times when I'm reading a really long article or something and since I'm a slow reader I have to keep slowly scrolling down the page every time the screen dims to make sure it doesn't turn off.
Yeah. I like the screen automatically cutting off sometimes, but when I'm reading stuff and I just happen to not read as fast as Samsung wants me to... poof... a black abyss.
Running oxygen rom and the screen turns off and on on its own without me touching it?

Turning off cause the ''lockscreen" is activated or you mean autobrightness when you are watching a movie on your phone ?
Hello Im running clanrom 5.5.1 and have the flash player installed. However, when I watch a flash video the screen will time out and I have to turn the phone back on to resume video. Am I using the wrong flash player apk or is it just jellybean not being compatible with flash properly?

It's jellybean... it's not officially supported so you get what you get as far as flash... that actually kept me on ice cream sandwich for a while until I saw someone say something about smart stay... just turn on smart stay and as long as you are in a decently lit room, camera will see your face and screen won't turn off... yay! !

It only consumes battery by keeping the screen on, which is what you want anyways... I'm sure there is a tiny amount of usage from flicking the front camera on and off but that is very minimal, all I can say is try it out and see if it fits your needs.

What does smart stay have to do with Jelly Bean? It's in the stock ICS rom too.
Howdy,
I have a s2 running 4.2.2 slimmed down CM. I have a wake clock app running and it doesn't pick up anything odd. The CPU clock says it never slept though.
Thus is a new phone to me. Thanks for your input.

Use betterybatterystats to find out what the wake lock is.
Then read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31974989

May seem silly, but did you have it plugged in while receiving the wake lock?

Nope, its been unplugged all day since 6 eastern time. Now its down to 19% with little use. It has never entered deep sleep today

Then you definitely have some WakeLock issues. I'd follow JD's advice and run Better Battery Stats and refer to the WakeLock thread by Bender for how to resolve them.
Make sure your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are off if you're not using them.

It should sleep like a baby if you're set up right, even with wifi and bt on.
The problem was that the charging wake clock kept it awake the whole day. I'm not sure what the deal was but I restarted the phone and it went away. I'm also having charging issues so it could be hardware. I ordered a new charging port/daughter board for it and I'm going to put it in this week. I'll let you know how it turns out

Curious to see how it turns out. I get the vbus wake lock often too, even with the Samsung charger. I'm thinking my usb port is having issues.
Restart your phone after every charge. Yes, the media scanner will run briefly but it's better than your phone not sleeping for hours before you notice the wake lock.

Well I installed the other charging port daughter board and the mic stopped working. So I never got to test to see if the charging wake clock was a hardware problem. Sorry. On a side note I have a charging port daughter board for a i727 that is basically brand new and only installed once for sale
