Disable pull ring, keep pin - HTC Desire S

Hello,
i want to protect my phone via pin-code (friends etc..).
I know how to, but after i enter the pin, i still have to pull the ring to unlock.
It's pretty obvious, that my screen was not activated in my pocket, when i entered the pin successfully. So what is that ring good for and how to get rid of it ?
I just want to enter my pin, and the screen will be available right away.

My first thought was: Hand Grenade ...
I haven't got my DS to hand at the moment - lent it to a work colleague as his iPhone couldn't get a stable signal at home. I always had mine set so that the PIN code overrode the other security measures - I just put the code in without even hitting <ENTER> and it unlocked.
Mind you, that was on Reaper, but it should be possible on other ROMs.

I don't think you can get rid of it on sense roms.

[Q] HTC Hero 2.2 - emergency calls

I recently rooted my phone and put the stable version of Cyanogenmod on it. I like my phone a lot better now, but there is one downside I can't seem to get past. There are 2 exchange email accounts that I want to connect to, but doing so forces me to enable either a pin or password for the lock screen. That also means that the emergency call button is right there on the lock screen.
I let my 18 month old son play with my phone. He is smart, but I know it is just a matter of time before he starts calling 911 from the lock screen. If it is possible, I would like to get exchange emails on my phone without needing the lock screen. Before the mod I was able to use Lockpick, but apparently that doesn't work with 2.2.
Does anyone know how to either override the need for a pin/password with exchange or at least get the emergency call button off of the lock screen? Thanks!

[Q] Almost giving up on android phone....

Hi there,
Is there anything I can do for a T-Mobile ZTE V768 gingerbread phone that doesn't enter recovery mode(it freezes) or download mode(it reboots),
and can't start because it has a pattern and it is locked for T-Mobile? The phone was sent to a friend here in Honduras from the USA. I have really tried to help this guy but have not met my goal yet.... Any ideas would be totally useful....
Regards and thanks in advance,

Hey dude hope this will help
A couple of weeks ago, the iPhone world discovered an exploit (not fixed) that allowed anyone to bypass the lockscreen and access the phone, messages, and even pictures.
Well, the bug has been caught in the GS3 world now, too. A few days ago, mobile enthusiast Terence Eden discovered a flaw that also allowed limited access to certain features of your Samsung Galaxy S3, and only in very certain circumstances. And it works no matter what protection you have enabled...Pattern Lock, PIN, Password, or Face Unlock.
Steps to Exploit #1
Lock your phone and turn the screen back on.
Go to Emergency Call.
Select the Emergency Contact icon on the bottom left.
When in the Emergency Contact screen, hit the Home button.
You will see a flash of your Home Screen (no matter what launcher you are using).
In that second when the Home Screen flashes, you can select an app/widget to execute.
The limitations with this exploit are that almost anything you select will run in the background, and you will be back at the lock screen. Where this exploit can be effective is if, let's say, you have a Direct Dial widget on your homescreen. In this case, someone can hit this widget, and the call will go through.
While this is something that should be fixed, it doesn't actually allow you to do much, so really, it's not all that scary. Unfortunately, the fun doesn't end there.
Yesterday, Sean McMillan of Full Disclosure opened up the initial exploit and discovered something much scarier. If successful, not only will this exploit open up the full contents and capabilities of your S3, but it will disable the lock screen completely until the phone is rebooted.
Steps to Exploit #2
Lock your phone and turn the screen back on.
Go to Emergency Call.
Select the Emergency Contact icon on the bottom left.
When in the Emergency Contact screen, hit the Home button.
Immediately after hitting Home, press the Power button.
If you did this correctly, the next time you press Power, your device will go directly to your homescreen.
This is obviously not good. Sean does note that you may need to do this multiple times to get it to work. Also, it doesn't matter what launcher you are using, or whether you are using a lockscreen replacement or not.
In the interest of full disclosure, I tried about 30 times, both with my rooted/modded phone, and with a bone-dry stock phone, and I couldn't replicate it.
But, just because I couldn't do it, doesn't mean it isn't real and dangerous. At this point, there has not been any word out of Samsung regarding this exploit, but I imagine a response and a patch will be on their way shortly.

Lollipop pattern lock quirk

So I noticed that in order to reach the pattern unlock, it requires an extra step and for me to slide up on the lock screen, in order to reach it. Not really a huge fan of this extra step. Any recommendations on how this can be changed to act as if it were the old way?
I attempted to turn off the lock screen notifications, and that was to no avail. ?
I've got the same question. It's an annoying quirk.
As a kinda solution I've been using smart lock and then face unlock. If my face is recognised, I only have to do the slide up. If it's not recognised, the device reverts to slide up followed by a pattern.
I prefer the old way, only the pattern.
I googled some more about getting rid of this slide first and on another forum someone stated:
"You can’t get rid of it. The slide is necessary because now the lockscreen is also the place where you see your notifications."

[Q] One touch screen passcode lock

Hi guys,
Used this site many times being able to search for the solutions to any questions I have had until now.
Looking to have a app/widget that with one touch, passcode locks the phone with a predetermined passcode. Then the next time the phone is unlocked, it won't be passcode locked unless I hit the passcode lock icon. I tend to passcode lock my phone a lot and know there has to be a one touch solution out there that basically only locks the phone one time per lock activation. Hate going through the settings menu each time and putting in the code to turn on passcode lock and then putting in the code to remove passcode lock.
Anyone know of any apps?
Thanks!!!

Pixel security flaw or just me?

My wife and I got a couple pixels back on black Friday, they've both been great. My wife switched from Apple so she enjoys pointing out all the things she doesn't like. She recently found one thing I can't explain. This works on both of our phones.
1. Phone locked, screen off
2. Press power button on side of phone. Phone goes to PIN unlock screen.
3. Try (unsuccessfully) to unlock using fingerprint scanner with an indirect finger. Use you pinky or whatever finger isn't loaded in your system yet
4. Message appears saying you've failed too many times, try again later
5. Swipe screen up.
6. Phone unlocks. Without ever entering your PIN!
Can anybody else repeat this? Google support chat is no help. I was told that if a factory reset doesn't solve the problem I would have to send the phones in for replacements.
Maybe you have smart unlock set up?
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Mine doesn't do that. Swipe up after failing fingerprint gets me to PIN.
Smart lock
I have smart lock set to keep my phone unlocked at home, in my wife's car and when I have a set of ear buds connected. Neither of those three were near or connected when I tested this thoroughly last night at dinner and this morning at work
Mine doesn't do that. I have smart lock for my blue tooth devices.
My pixel does not do this,I get asked for my pin
Nope, I can't recreate this without smart lock being on. What happens if you just press the power button and then swipe up?
If you do your test in your home, it's normal to stay unlocked since you are in SAFE UNLOCK in your house.
