Lollipop pattern lock quirk - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I noticed that in order to reach the pattern unlock, it requires an extra step and for me to slide up on the lock screen, in order to reach it. Not really a huge fan of this extra step. Any recommendations on how this can be changed to act as if it were the old way?
I attempted to turn off the lock screen notifications, and that was to no avail. ?

I've got the same question. It's an annoying quirk.
As a kinda solution I've been using smart lock and then face unlock. If my face is recognised, I only have to do the slide up. If it's not recognised, the device reverts to slide up followed by a pattern.
I prefer the old way, only the pattern.
I googled some more about getting rid of this slide first and on another forum someone stated:
"You can’t get rid of it. The slide is necessary because now the lockscreen is also the place where you see your notifications."

[Q] Disappearing Pattern Lockscreen?

I have a problem with my phone that I can't seem to find a solution for. Every single rom that I have flashed to my phone always ends up with a disappearing lockscreen. No matter what I choose, whether it is pattern unlock, pin unlock, etc eventually after maybe 2 or 3 unlocks and relocks the screen to enter the pattern or pin disappears and all I have left is an emergency call option at the bottom of the screen. And the only way to get it working (for a while) is to pull the battery. I properly wipe the phone before flashing but I haven't been able to stop it from happening.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

(Q)Cm custom lock screen

Long store short I like cm "custom" lock screen(the one u slide down to unlock) than the regular one, but I need to be able to turn the notifications off. It shows the text of my messages on the lock screen. Not always a good idea lol. Ive searched can't find anything.

[Q] One touch screen passcode lock

Hi guys,
Used this site many times being able to search for the solutions to any questions I have had until now.
Looking to have a app/widget that with one touch, passcode locks the phone with a predetermined passcode. Then the next time the phone is unlocked, it won't be passcode locked unless I hit the passcode lock icon. I tend to passcode lock my phone a lot and know there has to be a one touch solution out there that basically only locks the phone one time per lock activation. Hate going through the settings menu each time and putting in the code to turn on passcode lock and then putting in the code to remove passcode lock.
Anyone know of any apps?
Thanks!!!

Weird lock screen?

Hey all, just a little issue I'm having with my Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 running official CM13. Whenever I unlock my phone with the swipe lock screen (or anything, for that matter - pattern or passcode) the next screen pops up right away instead if moving up from the bottom of the screen with a smooth animation.
If you're a tad confused on what I'm talking about, grab your phone (or if you're already on it) turn it off. Now unlock your phone and watch carefully. If window animation is enabled in dev options, the screen will come up from the bottom quickly. My phone is missing this.
It's a trivial thing, , but if I can get some help with it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! :good:

Achieving NO lock screen, as apposed to replacing it with a swipe-screen

I would very much appreciate any thoughts anyone has on tackling the following:
OK, so if you have lock screen switched off, your device goes straight in, with no unlock or swipe screen whatsover. All good.
If, as I do, you use "trusted devices", this theoretically bypasses the lock screen and gives the same effect. Except that it's doesn't. What you get is a swipe-away screen instead of the lock screen.
Does anyone know a legitimate way, or a fix or crack or tweak, or a 3rd party app, that gets rid of the swipe-away screen, so that using a trusted device or location to bypass lock actually does so, giving the same result as not having lock switched on at all, rather than just replacing the lock screen with a swipe screen? Many thanks.

It really depends on your phone. When my phone enters my car and is connected via bluetooth, its a trusted device. I simply can turn my phone on and it will work without a lock screen. I'm using an S8.
Then again, if I did have a swipe screen, its the same thing as having no lock because you dont even have to swipe to open the phone. Not worth trying to look for a 3rd party app for something so minor, in my opinion.
