Issue After Flashing CM 10 - HTC One S

I went through unlock, and root with no issue. After installing CM and gapps, I'm now just getting the spinning CM boot image.
I wish I could just pull the battery
Any help would be appreciated.

Which hboot?

I'm not sure - it must be the latest stock version. I just got this phone from Assurion this week as replacement for my daughter's Amaze.

Did you flash the boot.img via Fastboot?

I flashed CWM touch via fastboot, and then flashed CWM 8.2.3 zip before I flashed CM and gapps

Read this thread and the cm10 op...you didn't install correctly and have ignored several relevant questions trying to help...

You have to extract the boot image from the ROM .zip file. Then you have to flash it with either fast boot ( on computer) or flash image GUI( On your phone In Android itself).
That is why your phone will not boot because the boot image has not been flashed correctly or at all.
You don't need to pull the battery obviously you can't. What you do is just hold down volume down and power and keep holding it until you see the bottom lights flashing keep keep holding it eventually your phone will turn off.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I extracted the boot image from the ROM and flashed it. For good measure I also rewiped, and flashed CM10 and gapps again. Everything is working great now - this phone is really a beast without sense.
Thanks again!

[Q] Bootlooping and cannot open recovery

hi all,
Firstly apologies if this is covered somewhere but for the life of me I cannot get to the bottom of this. I have spent 2 weeks on and off trying to get a solution but my Sensation is still boot looping.
The problem occurred when I turned on the camera but was faced with a blank screen. I could return to home screen but the camera would not work each time I launched. So I rebooted the device but then I was stuck in this boot loop.
Device info
HTC Sensation S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.0000
RADIO-11.21.3504.13_2
I was running Insert Coin 2.3.5 ROM for some time without issue
I was hoping I could just do a superwipe and flash a new ROM
FAIL - each time I boot into CWM and select Recovery, it just goes back to bootloop.
I selected Factory Rest from CWM menu
FAIL - it just goes into bootloop
Also cannot use ADB as the device will not connect to the PC. Im using a card reader to put files on the SD card but have not being successful resolving the issue.
Tried an SD card from a stock Sensation, no difference. Booting with no SIM, not working.
Most Bootloop fix's seem to involve super wipes / flashing new ROMs but because my Recovery goes into the bootloop I dont have this option. I wish it was so easy.
Can anybody offer an other ideas.
Thanks for you patience, I am not much of a modder or Android expert. I had just flashed a ROM many months ago to help improve battery life and I was happy with that.
Have you tried re-installing your recovery throught the bootloader?
try different recovery (4EXT) or reinstall recovery again
thanks guys.
I found these flashable recovery files. Both CWM and 4EXT. I have tried both zips and ran the update in HBOOT but am still booting in CWM and if I select RECOVERY is goes too bootloop again.

I think I might just give up and drop the phone into a phone repair shop and let them try it.
Did both flashes work? What do you mean you're "booting in CWM"? Can you boot into your system and are you using CWM app to boot into recovery, or are you manually booting into your bootloader and selecting recovery?

Try this pg58img (it helped me)http://www.wuala.com/LuckyThirteen/Elegancia/Official RUU Sensation/ it will update your sensation to ICS, (you will maintain s-off)
Thanks for that. It flashed fine and I was very hopeful it would work but unfortunately it is still in the boot loop. I feel like crying. Im stuck with an old iphone and I miss my HTC so much.

Yes both flashes worked.
What I mean is, I am manually booting with volume down and power button. In the boot menu I select recovery and it enters boot loop.

Can you please re-flash the stock ics (PG58IMG), look like you have some firmware issues (sometimes you have to flash several time in order to rectify previous mistakes...) Hope it helps, otherwise (in my humble opinion) you have some hardware problem
If you can boot normally into ICS and you are rooted, then get the 4Ext app or the ROM Manager app and flash the recovery through one of those.

so I gave this a go over the weekend and flashed maybe up to 10 times the ICS IMG.
Unfortunately it hasnt worked and Im left with my device looping.
so its off to the phone shop today and hopefully it can be fixed. Pity I rooted it and flashed the ROM as it should still be under warranty but I have voided that now

Flashing the ICS PG58IMG.zip doesn't replace the recovery.
Fix recovery first. Use stock recovery. When you get that working, change to "simple" cwm recovery.
thanks for the advise. It makes perfect sense as it appears it is my stock recovery that is broken.
however, I have searched around and cannot find a stock recovery image that I can flash as PG58IMG.zip.
Any help would be much appreciated.

before flashing stock recovery...can you try this first
get this recovery image
and flash the recovery via fastboot
steps:
1.go to fastboot in your device and connect it to your pc (after this device should read fastboot usb)
2.get the adb/fastboot setup ready guide here
3.go to your adb folder and place the downloaded recovery.img there
4.type fastboot devices (it should show your device serial number)
5.now to flash type
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this should do...if it didnt work then let me know ASAP...then we'll think of other solutions

Stuck in Boot Loop!

I got the tablet "unlocked:, Rooted, And running clockworkmod recovery. I had over the air update to 4.1 before all this but had no issues. I downloaded a ROM for 4.1, and when I rebooted into CWM I went to wipe my data and thats when it happened. The data wipe froze. I ended up having to forcfully turn it off. Then I got bootloop. I can get into cwm but I cant find my ROM to flash it. So im literally stuck. Is there a One Click revert to stock I can use? Or anything? Many thanks to anyone who can help. I have no access to my sd card. The ROM I downloaded previously does not show up in CWM.
You can't flash it again from cwm by redowloding, then putting on your SD card then munt in it?
U could reflash your unit with stock ROM using fastboot. I just unbricked my unit doing that after 5 days of fighting.
This is what I did, I downloaded job update from Asus then moved the blob to c/fast boot, loaded unit to fast boot then typed
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob
But make sure our boot loader is 10.4 or it will signature mismatch, so down load the appropriate boot loader .
That's what I did at least and my unit is working again.

i found the info here but had to tweak because once you upgrade bootload to 10.4 there is no going back it seems.

it has to match your current bootloader. if you updated jellybean your bootloader version is 10.4 and that is irreversible. so find out if that rom works on your current boot loader. once you go jb you can't go back.
in short. idk. if you want your unit install a rom that is made for your bootloader. idk custom roms. i use stock os rooted.

I did notice that when I put in the command to reboot, it said it reboot but the tablet did nothing..... so is there a chance that it didn't even flash? It did seem very fast.

Make sure you are not plugged into your pc when you boot to recovery! - if that doesn't solve it ..
Does the phone boot to the existing Rom, do you have Rom manager installed? - if so update the recovery from Rom Manager. I found that after rooting the One S using the toolkit I could not get in to recovery, the update from Rom Manager sorted it!
All the best :good:

Which recoveries have you tried, and what version of phone do you have (S3 or S4). These must match.
Make sure you bootloader unlocked OK, check in bootloader screen, should say Unlocked.
The problem youre describing sound like when you try to boot after successfully flashing a ROM but forgot to or the kernel failed to flash with it. Only happens when ROM and kernel are mismatched enough that it wont boot, fex flashing CM9 and still on HTC original kernel. Try flashing the kernel from the ROM zip file with
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You can also try booting a recovery without installing it,
Code:
fastboot boot nameofrecoveryfile.img

If you have working ADB and fastboot working (there is a sticky by user fibsib that explains this) you can make sure your phone isnt really just trying to boot the OS and failing rather than trying to enter recovery with the command
Code:
adb reboot recovery
But anyways figure out which version you have before doing anything more, flash the wrong stuff and you could break stuff. There are good info here as to how to see if you have the Ville=Z520e=S4 processor model or the Ville C2/Z560e/S3 processor model.
Then download a recovery for your phone model and install it with this command from your computer
Code:
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecoveryyoudownloaded.img
Should work.
have you actually flashed a recovery yet?
which one and how did you do it?
Make sure you have your phone updated to the latest software version before you root. Download system update OTA and click update.
Otherwise you will have issues.
I am rooted T-Mobile phone with original software 1.54 and still can not do recovery or update, it is probably me but it is difficult.
If you are in the US, make sure you use the US version in the development section after you upgrade your phone. Update then try to root it might be easier.

I haven't heard any problems, lately, about the 10/27 build..
weird stuff with the latest CM10
I haven't had any issues with the latest Kernel failing to boot (i'm running 6/11) but the rest of the 6/11 build is behaving strangely. I was getting 70 % battery consumption by bluetooth while bluetooth was switched off. I'm now running the 27/10 build with the 6/11 kernel and the latest Gapps. It seems to be running brilliantly.
I have the 1.14 hboot though. The ones having kernel issues with the latest builds seem to be on the earlier kernel.

Moto G 4G/LTE stuck in bootloop after upgrading kernel

Hi all,
So I've been playing around with Sabermod. Tried to install it, but had to update bootloader. Did that, everything still worked fine. Then I tried to upgrade my Kernel with Beeto's kernel, which is downloadable in that post. I did that using this guide from XDA-University with CWM. Since I did that, my phone is stuck in a boot loop.
Every few minutes I see the "bootloader unlocked"-screen, with just a black screen in between.
Ok, I have just now been able to reboot back into CWM recovery by using ADB command line tools. But I have no idea where to go from here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rubb
Edit: I have the XT1039, also known as Peregrine
Edit: I fixed it!
So I think the problem was that I flashed the kernel made specifically for this ROM, but tried to reboot the phone before installing the ROM. I managed to get into recovery with adb, then I flashed the kernel again, I did a full wipe, flashed the ROM, flashed Gapps, rebooted the phone. And it worked.
Thanks _that for your help!
Try "adb pull /proc/last_kmsg" to get the previous kernel log. Then install a working kernel (should be part of most ROMs).

Adb can't find my device now it is in recovery mode. I'm a bit afraid to move out of recovery mode as I might not be able to get back in. What's the best way to install a kernel? Is just flashing the zip with CWM good? When I flashed the zip of Beeto's kernel. The log said: "Bricking device. Installation successful. Have fun." I suppose that was meant to be funny and not serious? I hope

I don't know about CWM, but TWRP enables adb by default. Maybe you need to install drivers on your PC, or use Linux.

Yes, that should work.

I don't know about CWM, but TWRP enables adb by default. Maybe you need to install drivers on your PC, or use Linux.

I just thought about something. So I flashed Beeto's Kernel, but I didn't flash his ROM, the stock ROM is still on the phone. Could this be why he's stuck in bootloop ? Would it work if I now flash SaberMOD?
